"You are free to say what you want... Unless you live in Scotland" 🤣🤣
Love listening to sensible people talk. nice one Darragh
Oh that's why the African stories have been untold then .. ah .😮
Defending billionaires taking more millions whilst bleeding dry the working and middle class, bet you're a Tory voter.
Talksport turning the comments off for a woman pundit wonder why hahahaha
Equal rights but not equal opportunities to comment
Probably because they know about all the weird basement-dwelling, unemployed incels lurking in the comments
@@jamesgunn7 projecting much? I’m sure your basement isn’t all that bad 👍
@@UnoReverse11it is, his Mum has been on at him for months now to do something about it but he’s been very busy perfecting the art of edging
And dean saunders. Guys the biggest mongo about
He’s due the money, take the money. This is a ridiculous talking point which packs no punch. Any employee not accepting an earned bonus is a moron.
Darragh is top quality in terms of telling it like it is, no bullshit, straight forward.
Thing is, the guy is right. With big responsibilities comes big compensation.
First time I hear this guy - love this guy! Wanna hear more from him.
Levy owns 30% FFS, he IS NOT an employee.
He’s a minority owner with an emloyee contract
well.. yes he is.
4%
He's the chaiman who get salary...
I love how Jim White swerved the question like Neo from the Matrix when Darragh framed the argument in a very clear and coherent way. Playing devils’ advocate with no substance or rationale.
If you read MacAnthonys Wikipedia a former employee was awarded 157k plus interest and legal fees because he failed to pay their commission 😂😂
Jim has zero business acumen 😂 it’s quite scary how little knowledge he has around this topic.
If you work for a business and you have bonuses in your contract, and you personally achieve your targets, you get your bonus regardless if the business under performs that year. It’s basic economics
Why does that scare you 😳. Jim is a presenter .does his job very well. . He is not a business man per se . And the fact that you are so easily scared I doubt you know any practical business over reading textbooks on economics
@@hbos9709 you can’t even type a sentence properly mate. I’d go back to bed if I was you
@@lukebrown8580maybe Spurs should have put into Levy's contract he gets a big bonus whenever they win something......he'd be destitute
It’s not “basic economics” though, is it? This is contract law, not “basic economics”
I think it's more Jim has to fill 8 minute segment of air time on this subject and his co-host had it all wrapped up in half the time, leaving Jim to argue for the rest of the segment to fill time when he has already been shut down with nowhere to go.
Darragh is the best guest they have on this show
Cheapest season ticket @ Spurs is £856! To watch that load of bottle jobs. 😄
£555 family enclosure at Everton cheapest for adult. Mines £700 + around £1200 for coach and aways . £1900 minimum to watch dross all year round and that’s not including 🍻 s
Would have loved to have heard Simon's thoughts on this
Justifying an umpteenth price hike is insane regardless of meeting bonus targets
You must have never been outside before , because EVERYTHING has gone UP 🤡
If you watched the video it was their first price rise in years
Not the umpteenth. The first in years. Works out at 1% a year for the last 7 years
Funny how when Jim realised he has no grounds he explicitly bought it back to the “optics”
Jim seems jealous & envious 😂
Managers get sacked by a club AND get the rest of contract paid for sacking, failing, losing millions on players but get a pay out worth millions!
White OUT
Darren speaks a lot of sense
Yes companys like nintendo did.
They made sure normal staff get bonus instead of him
I fully bet nintendo are worth more.
I think sony did as well.
Lets be real its just greedy people being greedy
Good point . Darragh and Jordan would scoff at nintendo as they look up at them
Of course, because it’s a choice. People like Jordan and Darragh act like it’s a given, a fact of life, an inevitable outcome. It isn’t.
Lord Jordan 😂
Bonus was paid the year BEFORE the season ticket changes. Silly.
Essentially, Levy got his bonus because he does things like increase the ticket prices. His performance and compensation is based on making money. If the club made an 'unacceptable' loss he wouldn't get a bonus.
Edited to address the fair comment below
Well they just posted a loss of just less than £87 million, compared to the £50 million loss on the previous years financial statement. I know there are other considerations like developments and a large chunk of the loss being depreciation etc which isn't counted towards ffp but regardless they have run at a loss and an increasing one.
@@samjones3567 That's very true. I should amend it to 'unacceptable losses' in the eyes of the board and investors. The reported losses are considered acceptable and player transfers accounted for a lot of that £87 million. Revenue by comparison increased 24% which is remarkable and great marker for the club.
@@samjones3567 That's true. I should ammend my comment to 'unacceptable losses' in the eyes of the board and investors. A lot of the £87 million loss were due to player transfers and not a massive risk to the health of the club in the context for of the 24% increase in revenue. Bascially, Levy is running the club very well and he's getting compensated for it.
That's small fry to some players fees and wages.
This guy is great, wow
The club report that its net debt as of June 2023 was £677.4m.
People never mention Spurs owner .. he’s like Voldemort 😂
if Jim did his own research for just 5 minutes he would learn the bonus is from FY 2022/23 🤣
Ange said football clubs are not bancs - but Spurs is an investment Company
Jim white been schooled
I genuinely had to stop listening to TalkSPORT because Jim just talks absolute nonsense half the time and no one pulls him up on it 😴
Guess what. If you don't pay it, the price goes back down. It's a marvelous thing.
Guess what, there will always be people who pay it
Who cares what it looks like Jim the man earned his money… and I’m an Arsenal fan
He would the bent fooker
The cost of everything is going up I don't get why people think football is something that should be excluded, it's a business. A bonus is set against targets if Spurs CEO hits his targets he gets his bonus same way everyone else does if they have that as part of their contract with their employer.
He is correct … the club is in the black and well aligned with FFP, DL deserves to be paid for being one of the most astute chairman in the league
What have Spurs won under him? 2 league cups in 20 years, they may be a successful business, but on the field he's underachieved
@@Chris-oz9qx- Dont waste your time. Spurs fans measure success based on the size of the club and money they've made that they wont spend on players.
Levy is building Spurs to make money, but not for trophies.
So Jim never took a pay rise when Sky put up their prices when people were struggling to pay bills....
Everything that is wrong with football is summed up perfectly in this video. No check on players absurd beyond belief wages, no check on huge payouts for owners and board members, meanwhile the fans get fleeced more and more. Why somebody hasn't started a fan led league I don't know, it would be a guaranteed success.
Sure it would, you could use women for a team on the money you are suggesting
If levy was not there would spurs be at the point that they are at? Id Argue not. He earned his wage and achieved his targets to he gets his bonus!
Cut every onwer out of football and give 51% ownership to fans. Then see how much executive pay is
Money well earned by Levy..
Rich persons excuse for greed " Well in the world we live in "
Doesn't matter what Darragh says, Saint Jim of Hypocrisy land does not/will never get it...

If Levy could go elsewhere to earn £50-£60m, I would gladly pay for the taxi
I think the point has been missed.
Why is levy receiving a bonus for anything other than winning a trophy within ffp rules!?
Here is the issue with spurs, their ceo obviously has no incentive to turn them into winners!
Rubbish, he refuses to buy trophies though, arsenal city Chelsea all have. Chelsea about to fall foul of that and so are city, arsenal aren’t innocent either spending ove a billion. You sound like a Jonny come lately
Ndombele earns 200k per week.....
I don't believe spurs fans are moaning about his business knowledge its hes football side what have let us down
Darren put him on the spot didn’t answer me then tried to change the agenda
The spurs players make more than the CEO..just putting it out there
No one would turn down 3 mil pound bonus not a chance. Its all jealous.
If Jim was given 3 mil from talk sport he would take it.!!!
so basically paying himself someone else's money...
Trying to gloss over the optics but raising ticket prices by 6% which is set to make the club an extra 3 million which in turn is taken as a bonus by the CEO doesn’t really look great. Obviously the question will be posed, ‘ if you need to raise 3 mil to combat cost of living/ match day costs, why not sacrifice your bonus instead’
Did you watch the vid?
If you are working for a company and meet all your targets. In your contract it says if you do so you get a bonus.
But your company put the price up on the price of it's product.
Would you say. No i don't want my bonus. Just don't put the price up?
No. None of us would.
It's a business. They want to make money. If people feel the price is too high. Stop paying it. It's that simple.
But Levy is not just a chairman on a salary, he is part owner as well, whose 30% chunk is already worth around half a billion
People like Darragh are the reason TOT fans are deluded and only care about the clubs “financial success”
Levy hit targets... really? What? He's never won anything... EVER!
Jim is deluded. Why not stop paying players who are injured or play rubbish. Where is Simon Jordan
The sad thing is that bonus is for the season he employed 4 different managers and the club didn't qualify for Europe for the first time in years. They then bump the prices up, place more games in higher categories and remove concession tickets in the days before this bonus becomes public, and the amount estimated to be raised by the increase in ticket prices is virtually the amount he received as a bonus. It is not a good look.
It's almost as if levy is good at negotiating contracts.
Football is a business. If someone doesn't want their season ticket, there will be hundreds of people to take that ticket off them.
Birds of a feather….
outrageSport
Bonus for hitting what targets? No trophies and according to their own statements, £80+m loss
Imagine being so concerned about something you don't have a clue about.
@@TribalScan. Perhaps you can mansplain to me, a successful business owner the error in my statement.
As a 34 year old season ticket holder for over 25 years, I have absolutely no problem with this. Levy has turned us into a financial juggernaut, delivered us a billion pound stadium that secures our commercial future and gives us the platform to get to the next level. Concessions are by far the richest demographic of football fans, so they need to get over it. Our fanbase are becoming almost as moany as the likes of West Ham and those hypocrite Man City fans.
Please get Darragh on more often
You can see why Simon isn’t around when Darragh is on. Nice one Darragh! Great guest!
OutrageSPORT 😂 "D" the best guest ever.
Shut up Jim

Levy is the best chairman in the Premier
Yeah, those 2 league cups in 20 years is amazing 😂😂😂
Jim such a sensationalist hack .
I can see why Simon likes Darragh 🤣
When Levy took over we were bankrupt owing millions near the bottom of the league. He paid the debt built the training ground and stadium doing up the area.Hes made us into the most profitable club in football that has everything it will ever need. Its only worth 3 billion coz of what he's put in and the work he's done.He should be able to pay himself what he likes.I think you'll find his company Enic does own most of Tottenham PLC 🤦♂️
OK clever clogs.Exactly how many millions were we in debt back then? (around the time we won the FA cup for the 8th time)
Was it more or less than the £700m odd we are in debt now?
Ever since the time ENIC borrowed £22m to buy Spurs from Alan Sugar, They have not put ONE PENNY of their own money towards the football club.
Enic is not his company, he is an employee of enic, but owns close to 30%. Enic are the majority shareholders
Spurs under Levy have won 1 league cup in 23 years.....most supporters don't care about off field figures they care about on field success.....and he's been a failure at that.
Who?! A nobody chatting about somebody… and?
