I bought one of these brand new in 1980; mine had this same midnight blue metallic top and bottom, and light, sky blue in the middle. It was an F-150, Ranger package, which was midline. The was also a medium blue metallic paint color available that year. Glad you're fixing it up; i sure miss mine!
Back in the day we use to wash down a car and then rewet it and sprinkle a can of kitchen cleanser all over. Keep it wet and rub it down with a wet sponge. You'll really need to rinse it well and stay in the shade. But it will take off the road film as well as using rubbing compound. Same ingredients.
Good luck on this one so far [hope it continues for sure]. May want to get a Leaf blower for the engine top next first start on a derelict vehicle though :-)) Also, may want to vacuum out the air passages where rodents love to take crunches in and often die in over a 20 year period... lmao] Their special contribution to the Air Conditioning lol. You find these well preserved abandoned vehicles in the southern states for sure. Not even roof rot on this one. Nice find!
Awesome. Reminds me of the '85 I had. It was a light blue with off white accents. Great truck, except for when the weather was cold and wet, ran terrible, never could figure out why..
I detailed cars for 32 yrs. this is what I learned. mold and mildew need moisture to grow. in the sun it lays semi dormant till nightime and also rain and generally humidity. If your gonna use a pressure washer, use one that tops out at 1300 psi. also if the tube comes off the gun go to home depot and buy a 6" threaded pipe that will fit the gun and its easier to control. also any drill pouch will work for when you aren't using it if you want to wear one. plus most 1300 psi pressure washers work on electric and turn off once the water refills the hose. best thing to use is no pressure from a water hose and some elbow grease. much better for the old or new paint. you can spray the cheapest degreaser you can find on the vehical before wetting it, let it dry, then hose it and wipe it gentley. the cheapest degreaser because it is the weakest degreaser also. wet the section of the car lightly and use elbow grease and the degreaser to get off alot of stuff. when your done use a claybar....The finest one you can find....and go over the paint with it and you will get alot of stuff outa the paint you cant see and when your done, you feel the paint and it will feel close to showroom new. Just few tricks i learned doing this for years and years.
I'm not too surprised that the AC works. Ford tough. My F150 is 24 years old and the AC is still as cold as ever. I haven't had to touch it for the 15 years I've had it.
On the first video, at 8:48, I wondered how many people still knew what that aluminum thing was. That is a feeding trough for chickens! It can also be use for baby chicks but it is mainly for adult chickens. The water they get is from a round dish that has a screw-on cap that fits a quart jar or bigger and is gravity fed. Just a bit of trivia to go with some of the things Richard often finds.
@@whattherust, usually they were round and made of galvanized steel. Others were made of glass and just had the jar sitting on top of the feeder. I tried to post a link to one but it keeps getting taken down. You can look up vintage water feeder for chickens and you'll see all kinds including some modern versions.
do you ever get down and dirty and revive the old rotted, stuck so bad you can turn it with a powerhandle.i dont think i have seen you get under the cars in the dirt like NNKH or Sleeperdude, sorry but it seems like you do the easy stuff over and over
I have binged all of your videos and out of all channel like your I think yours is the best

That is awesome. I had never seen a vehicle sit this long have working AC.

A few people knew what it was, but no one wrote about the water container. I learn something new every day.

Somebody teach this guy how to clean with a presser washer
These bull nose ford trucks are really a well designed, handsome vehicle, imo. What brand rubbing compound works 🤔 best?
Becarful on those window seals with the pressure washer they may be a little rotten and leak
Needs a light buffing and it will bring the paint out.
I ended up doing that and it looked great. It was amazing how well the paint held up over the years.
Standing in the bed ,while scrubbing down the roof of the cab, works best!
That black stuff is tree sap!!
You needed to go closer with you pressure washer. Would have saved you a lot of scrubbing. Nice truck!
Thanks for the tip!
wory about the shine after get it running and driveing frist ur doing things backwards
Takes out the oxidation.
What kind of car is in the garage next to the Stang?
72 Buick Skylark. 350 5 speed.
What's up
