This whole situation could make for one of the funniest comedy drama films ever. An over dramtic comical recreation of the PA meetings. Having a bit where Philip Aram's character tries to give them a quick lecture on the importance of strike action and a bunch of LoL players scratching their heads... I picture it perfectly in my mind and it is beautiful
Holy shit that thumbnail is so funny. I recently watched a documentary on Thatchers rule in the UK on Arte where the coal miners who went on strike for 1 whole year. The miners who kept working and undermined their peers had to go to work under police protection.
Its quite funny that Doublelift did basically the same but he is facing no consequences from his peers.

That's because this generation is soft as fuck. Not that I'm blaming people but never going through actual hardship makes you weak.
This is like when Monte said that DL did the S3 Worlds Desk for free, but now he busted the entire NACL for free. Riot must be so happy
If someone ever asks me for an example of what malicious incompetence is I’ll just send them this video.
I’m a union rep currently and your 100% right. People just need to stop talking and let your rep do what they know how to do. Most of the time people don’t want to stop talking and think they know better and then they fuck it all up and get themselves fired or in trouble and blame you.
What a great time to be alive and an RL enjoyer
Rocket League, hell yeah
Bro I allways go back to this video it such comedy I cant believe Doublelift can do all these things with a straight face.
You can just tell this video is gonna be a banger from that title 🤣
richard explaining the depths of the insomnia driven youtube is truly reassuring
15:05 those numbers definitely seem real, in NA CL rulebook minimum base salary is listed as $64,480. Also IWD recently had an ex-academy player who recalled a player having 250k contract in academy few years ago (tenacity talking about fenix when he roleswapped to adc).
The DL videos were so hilarious I can’t stop watching the dumpster fire.
This is what Peak content looks Like and it comes from Richard
His legacy is 12 years of not making it out of groups, and was part of the 0-6 TSM lmao. Clown region where popularity is more important than results
and once he almost made it out, he made the infamous lucian play against SSG
easy there big guy
@@KennithBcringe Yeah, that's all doublelift fans get to say :)
@@2.0.1.0. I wouldn't say I am lol, but did he steal your gf too or something? you kinda got it out for him haha
@@KennithBcringe Yeah totally. 12 years LOL
I work in the trades and let me tell you, Richard Lewis just knocked this one out the park, I really think I might send this to my union cuz they make the same mistake Doublelift is making and its really sad that they're so stupid to just let the Mega Corporation win, when if they just stood strong they could get a deal done.
It really shows what a meme the LoL scene is that FaceCheckLift is the best American player ever. Dude has not developed at all since he was like 17 lol
You taking that type of comedy on tour lad?

Thanks to you i never run out of content
Thank you very much
to paraphase SAO Abridged:
"My union members don't know the meaning of the word surrender!"
Doublelift: "But I'm willing to learn!"
A bit late because I watched all the Thorin stuff, I figured, gonna start watching some Richard stuff for once. But for me the most beautiful thing is that DoubleLift doesn't understand how a job works. If you do badly and the company doesn't make money, then yea, they'll cease operations and 50+ people will be out of a job. Those 50 people will have to figure out for themselves what their talents are and how they can use those to contribute in a new job. That's literally what happens to anyone else who works for a failing company.
This is too beautiful, re-watching this for the third time now
Oh fuck ya a biiiig vid
I needed to pass some time at work. Glad I can have some good content to do so! Thank you
Double "Quisling" lift
i dont even watch or play LoL, or know who the fook doublelift is. RL can STILL hold my interest on this topic from start to finish.
The summoners code 😭😭😭😂😂
Poor, poor Phil...And poor players, honestly. Even with how much of a shitshow the 'ecosystem' has been, they don't deserve this. The clip of DL missing the irony in Phil's message really put a nice cherry on top for me.
Peter "doubleagent" Peng
After breaking out of diamond, doublelift finally made it to Osmiumhead status, for the densest mfs around
thats an insult to Osmiums everywhere
I knew RL would cover this on CZcams and was looking forward to it. Thanks for the banger content to listen to while i work.
dude i want to see TSM Staff Reginald playing LCS so badly
The only esports I still watch is Richard Lewis.
I have heard y'all describe DL in other vids, but seeing him in action like that was something else, u were not exaggerating at all... maybe he got some advice to shake the target off his back, play nice to riot now that he is a lot more about streaming...
If you were trying to write a dumb character just destroying everything you couldn't do a better job than what Doublelift actually did. Crazy this guy.
I appreciate you, RIch
4:00 Riot are acting out the Human story on a micro-scale.
Could you please put the date of the original stream where this segment was sourced from in the description ? I've asked this many times in the past. Without knowing the date is hard to contextualize Richard's comments in terms of what was known at the time.
This is from a stream on June 9th
i think the thing that frustrates me about the nacl being killed is that it became a joke because of the decisions the organisations and riot made.
they took out the stakes. the orgs used them as holding pens for strategically valuable players. they made decisions to make it as bad as possible.
its also baffling to me that the orgs got to look for advanced payment and deliver less product (the cl was part of the agreed product) like fair you could argue salaries were way too high but the teams did that themselvea as well by importing shit foreign players for 500k .
like if i was a lower tier player i dont think its actually unreasonable to expect you could be paid 12% of what the highest paid player is (who most often wasnt even the most skilled)
like i suspect you see ever play take a massive hair cut next year because there is now 50 odd people who can play well enough with a similar ish skillset who will work for a fraction of the price and they would be as competitive internationally as current na teams
he just ran it straight down
And here I thought there was nothing I could enjoy about LoL. Thanks Rich!
Had to stop the vid cos I started wondering where the hell my Soundgarden Badmotorfinger tshirt is ....I think it's been nicked
Time to vote him out of the players association
Thorin and to a lesser extent monte were huge jerks to phillip aram. I didnt get why they had to berate him the whole episode when it looked like he was trying his best. Unno just felt wrong.
Good thing you’re hardstuck McDonald’s if you can’t even think critically
Yiliang "Pinkerton's" Peng strikes again
20:38 does the buying training and selling talent not happen so much in American sports? Because I'm pretty sure it does. For example baseball, Billy Beane wrote an entire book about it and was made into a movie. I saw a video about it just this week. Correct me if I'm wrong.
phantom lord guy
This is what ADC main looks like
Union buster extraordinaire xd
I understand the point about 60k in california is not enough to live at all, i think the point people like Dom were making is academy players in league don't have to spend money on their own basic necessities like housing, food, transportation (to the lcs building anyway), etc, so the salary they are getting is only for non essential expenses or a litte piggy bank, other than that excellent video as always
You’re a gem rich
Banger incoming
The bar is low when CSGO pros are intelligent in the comparison
I think when he was referring to magic in the air he must of been referring to magic mushrooms or something. What a strange video from doublelift.
This is too funny
I expected ignorance and idiocy from Doublelift. What I did not expect was borderline bootlicking.
Quickest click in my life
America has done it again!
I'm an actual giant legitimate union. This is fucking appalling. It beggars belief.
Imagine John L. Lewis or Henry Caudill seeing this.
running it down mid
If you take his points and change from LCS and NACL to Worlds and LCS, he will be against everything he said.
He is fine with Academy players with no salaries fighting for prize money, now ask him if he wants to get back to season 2 CLG and have to win a tournament to get any money.
Luv u rich
You'd have to pay me 60k a week just to live in LA
what would Jimmy Hoffa think
Hi Richard, great video, but feel like the whole comparison with Phil Jones isn't a great one since he refused a testimonial multiple times. I think it's better compared to Eden Hazard in that regard.
Dom said it best, if this is a ecosystem, riot is god
Quality episode rich. Laughable response from Doublelift. I bet the union wants him to resign from lcs now for sure!
His brain is always playing catch-up to his mouth is the best description of DL I've ever heard.
1:04:25
The players get room and board from the teams, they dont pay any of their own money for housing
I hope every pro player DL encounters in solo Q calls him out for being a scab for the rest of his playing days
I don't give a flying fuck about LoL but I'll listen to RL talk about it for 90 minutes

Americans are just a completely different species
Being dense is a source of pride in American culture. I swear it's like an actual cultural shock whenever I listen to one of them try to wrap their head around actual real world concepts like labour, career, finance, politics. It's kinda worrying when you realize just how little they understand how everything around them works.
I'm firmly in camp "Philip Aram is a grifter" but you still have to applaud him for trying to make a difference. Thing is, this absolute moron of a teenage millionaire just fucked it all up and there's no coming back. And somehow DL is going to manage to paint himself as the victim, I'm sure. He's so dense it's impossible to fathom. Philip tried, and just like everyone who comes to esports, he'll just go somewhere else afterwards. Does seem a bit weird he didn't realize to mention nobody says anything about this until the negotiations are over. With all the education claims and that. Though I guess DL would be dumb enough to do it anyway :'D
Important and hilarious video as always! Long may he reign
The points from DL are hilarious but NACL could work as an actual academy.
Like, teams need to have an age cap, put it at 23 or something, and contracts can not last longer than 2/3 years to make it an actual development league.
Idk if it's possible but you could lower the age minimum to 15 and considering it's america you could even work with colleges to have some sort of partnership where if some college player around 18 yo is the best of their class they can get a spot in C9 academy for example.
It's the US, people will watch professional softball just give the league a reason to exist other than "An even lower quality LCS" when LCS is already dogshit without imports.
Also Imports should not be allowed in NACL unless they're under 20, getting some boomer dane who you just couldn't work into your main team go into NACL to just put him on a lower salary and run out his contract/try to sell them is dumb as shit.
Support Comment.
Holy shit what a banger of a title. Hope the vid is as goated as the title.
23:44 Teams made bad contracts. They made 2/3 year contract with players that had 1 good split. So now they are stuck with them, so they send them to the academy team.
It's easier to re-hire old players than scouting good amateur players. Come on, you're telling me that there were no players better than Keaiduo, Blue, Takeover, Shenyi, Yursan, LOST.
Just look at some of these imports... there is no way that there was no rookie with good communication and who could not improve and be better than them.
There is a saying: A bad call at the right time is better than a good call too late.
Oscarinin is a good example in EU of a player that was not ready but improved while the season went on.
sound
Plenty of people in LA/CA get paid way less than 60k to do harder and more expert jobs. Earning six figs and having to live off ramen (without dependents) doesn't add up tbh.
Maybe I'm too bitter about my industry's pay standards but I do think 60k min for the worst player is a tad high
If you want the 5 players to own the spot, then why is the team paying 5 people a salary if theres no upside for them, likewise with the contracts and then buyouts. The NA ecosystem was obviously broken from the moment they brought in franchising. I find it massively ironic that the country who talks about freedom and capatalism so much has some of the most socialised sports systems around. (Then also wonder why they arnt working properly)
franchising isn't socialism but okay man whatever you say
I wish the players stayed striking and NA didn't go to worlds. It would make for a much better tournament if we got to take a few more chinese teams instead of the shitters in NA.
It's dark days for NA esports man, I dont get how were so shit at everything but Valorant. I'm sure that will change soon someway somehow.
I'm not a lol guy... he is really allowed to vote on things?
well i see a typical american approach to sport, its all about the money ... No about the competition, protect the investment, but i just dont see the work when it comes to growing talent. All of the other regions have produced, scouted and sold/kept talent. This is the weakness of the US sporting system
it crept into Europe with the franchised leagues in CS. Just look at the state of the pro scene, where EG is allowed to bypass qualifiers with their dogshit tier 15 teams for close to 3 years because they purchased a spot on a league.
i cant relate because i dont follow CS, but I do follow the NBA since like 96, premier league, LCK and LEC when reapered was still a top laner. I just dont think that the LCS challenger was well used and constructed in the first place and partially it was the owners decision. Besides where is the scouting ?I can belive the the NA server does not have any talent or people who dont want to compete ....
for somebody who has so many videos talking on the internet, doublelift really does not grasp the meaning of the words he is using
reginald shoudl've come out of retirement to show how much of a doghsit he was lmao
Just how dense do you have to be to say all that in public and somehow still not realize the damage you did to the own thing you're supposedly supporting? lmao
I’ve been a DL fan since the CLG days and while I love him as a player, he is like my big dumb Great Dane. He’s a lovable dog and a great pet but man he does some stupid things. Still love you tho DL
👁👄👁
"50 LCS players will not have a job" acting like they can't stream/already have enough money.
The funny thing is DL actually IS one of those players that has the least to lose since his streaming career is already stable, as well as him having made life changing money from esports
isnt he the best?
