Bruce didn’t go to the hospital to hear what he already knew. He didn’t care, he cared about Gordon. They’re so amazing together! Two incredible actors over the course of three films, vulnerable and yet together in their righteous causes
I often wonder how happy Gordon felt seeing his old friend again after eight years. He doesn't need to see his face to know who his visitor is: he's the Batman.
This was a very nice way of bridging both first meetings from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises as it shows how far Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon's relationship has come, Bruce wore a ski mask when he met Gordon for the first time and now he sees him again for the first time in 8 years wearing the exact same type of mask . This scene really brings everything full circle.

Visually TDKR is epic, but because of the narrative issues, nothing feels as grand as it should, because it all feels a bit rushed, and doesn't leave much time for certain moments to resonate.
I found this scene interesting since we see Batman appearing to Gordon as just a normal guy who just happens to be wearing a ski mask but Gordon knows it's him. Bruce could easily infiltrate anywhere without having to dawn the batsuit and just as easily disappear without drawing any attention, basically hiding in plain sight.
in all fairness, the last time these two (I mean Wayne and Gordon) had any interaction with eachother was in TDK when Bruce had his Lambo destroyed 8-10 years ago. You could say everyone should be familiar with the voice of someone as important as Bruce Wayne due to TV appearances and such, but the guy has pretty much dissapeared from the public light in that time. Unless you have a very unique voice, people will forget how you sound like after 8-10 years.
In the dark knight batman fell down at least 3 to 4 stories in the parking garage onto scarecrow's van, he was stabbed in the torso by jokers shoe blade, he fell down all the way from his penthouse and onto a taxi with Rachel without using his cape and somehow survived, he crashed his batpod when he refused to hit joker, was mauled by dogs, beaten with a metal beam, shot by two face, and last he endured another long fall after tackling Harvey off the building to save Jim Gordon's son. I'd say all that and his previous endeavors at batman justifies his chronic health conditions.
Everyone's got lines from this scene that GETS them, and my two favorites are: "We were in this together, and then you were gone." "...The Batman wasn't needed anymore; we won." There's so much going on in these two lines. Gordon feels alone and maybe even a little betrayed by Batmans absence as once again hes up against an implacable threat and has no one in whom he can depend on or share in his guilt. The lie built on Harvey's sacrifices and ultimate turn towards evil has clearly weighed on him and now, injured and alone, he can only take so much consolation from the shell that formerly used to be his champion. On the other hand, Bruce is tired and broken and buried in the soil of their dark deal and can be of only marginal comfort to his once-closest ally. There is so much going on in the line "We won," and it almost brings a tear to my eye knowing Batman's fighting days are not over. They went to war with an unknowable chaotic evil and the best they could do was manifest a tenuous peace from their corrupted friend and cohort. "We won" also says "We lost, but we made it work somehow." Its lovely writing for such a dark scene.
Gordon says himself: "I never cared who you are." He's the sommisioner, and Batman is outside the law. He purposely didn't want to know, so the Caped Crusader can return soon.
Bruce was OK with not using his stupid Batman voice here, but he used it the next time he met Gordon in full Batman regalia. Gordon: You know, you could just your normal voice with me. It's not like I haven't already heard it. Batman: No, must use throat cancer voice in Batsuit! Gordon: But... Batman: Arglegarglefarr! *jumps off rooftop and disappears into the night* Gordon: ...
Brilliant analysis. It just has one tiny flaw: it still doesn't explain why Bruce chose to use his Batman voice when wearing the suit. If Bruce trusts Gordon so much, what difference does it make whether he's using the voice when wearing the suit or not?
Raja Thyagaraj Point being is I don’t see Gotham as an actual Batman show. It’s a bit more of a CSI, Criminal Minds-esque type of series because it mainly focuses on Jim Gordon and the police.
Honestly one of the best things about this movie, there is legit no way Batman would be able to do what he does for very long without some kind of a healing factor, the human body doesnt just get over being stabbed, shot, beaten, and doing the kinds of phyical activities Bruce does
i dont get why people dont understand. Gordon says like 3 times he doesnt care who he is. so it can be as obvious as he wants gordon still isnt gonna try to figure it out because he doesnt care.
@@manuelroger1035 I saw it twice, it's my favourite Batman movie now. I am not kidding, that movie was amazing, from the soundtrack, to the cinematrography, to the way Pattinson protrays a dark and tormented Batman. His Bruce Wayne is so-so but man he killed it as Batman
The only bad thing about the Nolan-Batman movies is that despite having 3 entries it somehow still feels short, like there was still so many more stories to tell. I wanted to spend much more time in this universe
I like how Thomas Lennon played a doctor in this movie and a doctor in Memento, which combined with Wally Pfister being Nolan's DP for the first time in Memento and for the last time here makes this moment feel like a bookend.
Besides sustaining huge injuries when he fell a few stories after saving gordons son from two faces, The Joker also had a huge hand in some of the damage due to hitting him multiple times with a metal pipe in there final battle
No vocorder attached to his neck. Between movies 1 and 2, Wayne got a machine capable of harmoniously distorting his voice to disguise his true voice print; it actively massages/vibrates the neck at a different frequency. Without the suit on, he can only make himself sound gruff as in the first movie.
Over seven years in exile and all those nights as Batman. Imagine going over seven years getting into fights on the streets and in some of the worst prisons in the world. While being malnourished and vitamin deficient. Only to return to Gotham and put your body through hell nearly every night. Bruce Wayne’s superpower is his pain and torture tolerance.
Batman Begins: 10/10 perfection Dark Knight: 9/10 - The boat sequence was pointless, Bale's Batman voice. Dark Knight Rises: 5/10 Really poor. Bane was a poor villain, the plot was non sensical, Bale's Batman voice was worse. The ending sequence, Anne Hathaway and soundtrack saves it from a lower score.
That scene made me think of Netflix's Daredevil and how much I felt for that poor man's scarred and injured body, and how much Matt struggled to fight and continue standing after taking savage beatings.
This spoke volumes of the strong bond between Bruce, as Batman, and Jim to a good man in a corrupt city. As Batman later acknowledges, Jim is his hero for giving him reassurance as a boy that the world had not ended, even in the darkest day of life. Jim didn't have to do that but his humanity helped form the Batman. And then they thought crime in Gotham for six months before the joker tore everything down. Tore Harvey Dent down and forced them to compromise themselves. Even after eight years of not seeing each other, Batman holding Jim's hand sure that friendship, that bond, is stronger than ever.
Bruce actually wants to become Batman again. He wants to as his way of fighting his own personal demons, especially following the death of Rachel. Bruce wants the truth about Harvey revealed, so he could become Batman again and be Gotham's hero, but he knows that the truth about Harvey would come at a price: The end of the Dent Act and the ignition of chaos in Gotham. This is what the Joker wanted. Bruce knew if the truth was revealed, as it almost was on Harvey Dent Day when Gordon stood up to give his speech, then the Joker would win. The Joker did win in a way, but Batman won in the end by sacrificing himself to save the city that hated him for so many years.

"...The Batman wasn't needed anymore; we won."
There's so much going on in these two lines.
I didn't notice before that the Doctor is actually Lieutenant Jim Dangle...
Please come back Nolans Batman!!
Batfleck Begins
Unfortunately he never will! :)
@@kctoasty Which already happened half-way through his first movie.
What if he doesn't exist anymore?
NOLANS: What if he doesn't exist anymore?
FANS: He must...
Bruce and Jim have such brief moments of true bonding in this trilogy this is unquestionably one of the most powerful of those IMO.
This scene is underated. It's so cool how he jumps out that window.
To think this shot was filmed right next to my house is a crazy thought...
MARNZ
You didn't get a chance to see them filming ?
Heh me too - Wollaton lad, eh?
This is true I was your house
*Suddenly the Nurse walks in*
"Hey mr Gordon would you like the pudding or the jello fo...HEY WHO'N THE HELL ARE YOU!! GET OUTTA HERE!"
Bruce with raspy voice: 'No!'
Nurse: 'Why not?'
Bruce: 'Because I'm Batman!!'
You can tell gordon cares about batman. And vice versa.
0:56
Most powerful line(s).
"The Batman has to come back..."
"What if he doesn't exist anymore" <
He must... He must."
*jumps off rooftop and disappears into the night*
Gordon: ...
lmao!!!
Seems legit...
Brilliant analysis. It just has one tiny flaw: it still doesn't explain why Bruce chose to use his Batman voice when wearing the suit. If Bruce trusts Gordon so much, what difference does it make whether he's using the voice when wearing the suit or not?
I didn't ask why he wears the mask. I asked why he uses the Bat Voice. But whatever, let's just agree to disagree.
😂😂😂😂
In Tim Burton's version, as well as the awful 60's TV version, Gordon was a NOTHING character. In Nolan's version he is hugely important.
Watch the TV series show "Gotham" ....Gordon gets all the respect he deserves.
A A No, watch the Animated series.
A A I see Gotham as more of a mystery/crime thriller than as an actual superhero show in the likes of Flash or Arrow.
eec "Superhero" is not a genre, it can be anything from horror to crime thrillers to drama.
Raja Thyagaraj Point being is I don’t see Gotham as an actual Batman show. It’s a bit more of a CSI, Criminal Minds-esque type of series because it mainly focuses on Jim Gordon and the police.
Honestly one of the best things about this movie, there is legit no way Batman would be able to do what he does for very long without some kind of a healing factor, the human body doesnt just get over being stabbed, shot, beaten, and doing the kinds of phyical activities Bruce does
Getting old isn't gonna be fun for him :(
"I'm BatWayne, SHIT! I mean.. I'm BruceMan, FUCK!"
The doctor came back to a missing patient, open window, and assumed he jumped to his death because he couldn't go Heliskiing
BRUH
I mean, the fact that he is wearing a suit does reduce the circle of suspects lmao
i dont get why people dont understand. Gordon says like 3 times he doesnt care who he is. so it can be as obvious as he wants gordon still isnt gonna try to figure it out because he doesnt care.
The Christian Bale batman has to come back!!
What if he doesnt exist anymore?
...he must.....
The best batman for me ever!
I'll give Pattinson a chance as he's a fucking amazing actor. He really grew in the past 7 years. He was great in the Lighthouse and TENET
@@AlistairAi so, now that you've probably seen it, what are your thoughts?
@@manuelroger1035 I saw it twice, it's my favourite Batman movie now. I am not kidding, that movie was amazing, from the soundtrack, to the cinematrography, to the way Pattinson protrays a dark and tormented Batman. His Bruce Wayne is so-so but man he killed it as Batman
@@AlistairAi agreed
I loved this scene ...specially the bit with the doctor.
The only bad thing about the Nolan-Batman movies is that despite having 3 entries it somehow still feels short, like there was still so many more stories to tell. I wanted to spend much more time in this universe
All great stories feel short in the end.
0:47 Slav Batman
I like how Thomas Lennon played a doctor in this movie and a doctor in Memento, which combined with Wally Pfister being Nolan's DP for the first time in Memento and for the last time here makes this moment feel like a bookend.
$1000 suit and a ski mask. I wonder who he could be.
Gary Oldman did an amazing job playing Commissioner Gordon in the Dark Knight Trilogy! I’m ever so thankful he didn’t die like Sirius Black!
"I cannot recommend you go heliskiing."
"What about hella skiing?"
Gordon: The batman has to come back...
Bruce: What if he doesn't excist anymore?
Gordon: He must...He must...
Only three lines, yet so good! 🙌
What the fuck are you talking about only three lines they have a full conversation
lol i love the Heli-skiing line, it's a throwback to his crazy made up adventures he would tell Lucious in Batman Begins.
Watching this scene with that one in batman begins where they meet each other... Epic!!
Christian Bale just whispering is 1000X more effective than his "Batman voice".
YES "Batman Begins" Voice Good Too.
Handy that Gordon was right underneath Wayne’s consultation room
It seems that he was a few floors beneath.
That car is so sexy
You should see his other one

Besides sustaining huge injuries when he fell a few stories after saving gordons son from two faces, The Joker also had a huge hand in some of the damage due to hitting him multiple times with a metal pipe in there final battle
Thanks for all these clips JokerDonny!
*Jumps out from another ceiling just to not get recognized by Gordon*
*Gordon: i don't care who you are*
Batman: shit
Gary Oldman 💝💓💗💕😍😍😍
nary goldman
Bruce is a good friend
No vocorder attached to his neck. Between movies 1 and 2, Wayne got a machine capable of harmoniously distorting his voice to disguise his true voice print; it actively massages/vibrates the neck at a different frequency. Without the suit on, he can only make himself sound gruff as in the first movie.
this isnt cannon
Lmao after the doc told him he needs to slow it down he jumps out a window. Sheesh
That doctor describing Bruce’s injury’s sounded so awful. Mans ain’t got much left
Incredible trilogy
The Dark Knight Rises (2012) 100/100
Batman Begins (2005) 100/100
The Dark Knight (2008) 100/100
I agree , but the fact of it being out of order bothers the hell out of me lmao
@@gabepena5073 r/mildlyinfuriating
Agreed. all three movies were easily 10/10 movies.
Wrong.... 150/100
Batman Begins: 10/10 perfection
Dark Knight: 9/10 - The boat sequence was pointless, Bale's Batman voice.
Dark Knight Rises: 5/10 Really poor. Bane was a poor villain, the plot was non sensical, Bale's Batman voice was worse. The ending sequence, Anne Hathaway and soundtrack saves it from a lower score.
Batman has to come back to save us from Batwoman.
We'll call Edward from Tweedy-Light. :D
@@Angyali Stop putting Pattinson into only one role, he's an amazing actor
@@montaholic3120 Guess what: I TOO NOTICED that! :D Can't wait for TENET ever since the teaser, but now especially! ^_^
Doctor *in Joker voice*:- "Wanna know how you got these scars?"
Bruce:- "Touche"
Thank you
Nice batsuit
LOL! His facial expression at 0:08!
This was a powerful scene seeing it the first time..
That scene made me think of Netflix's Daredevil and how much I felt for that poor man's scarred and injured body, and how much Matt struggled to fight and continue standing after taking savage beatings.
the doctor is the short shorts guy from reno 911
Just new boot goofin
17 again with zac efron.

So Batman's fall in the Dark Knight destroyed his cartilage but when did his brain and kidneys become scarred?
From the years of being Batman in general
@@andreingramakadjscrewrip7372 true
I guess also because he was close in his house for years without doing any physical activity, even his leg got damaged
One of my favourite scenes in the trilogy
Gordon: "Bats, I swear to god you sound just like Bruce Wayne."
Bruce: "SWEAR TO ME!"
"how did bane beat him" WWWEEELLLLL 0:04
Nolan has never made a bad scene in his life, he takes advantage of every second of every movie he creates. pure dedication to his creations.
Thanks coach teacher
"Engage Anti-mumbling Bat-subtitles."
0:26 by far _the_ best Batman costume.
I guess because his knee is healed from that brace Luscious gave him.
I wonder if he either faked his x rays or overcame them them . Playing while hurt
the fact that Bruce was in a suit must have told Gordon something about who batman was
This spoke volumes of the strong bond between Bruce, as Batman, and Jim to a good man in a corrupt city.
Bruce looks kinda funny with that mask on.
So it isn't because he doesn't want to carry on the mantel of batman it is because
he cannot he is to injured.
The Joker did win in a way, but Batman won in the end by sacrificing himself to save the city that hated him for so many years.
i like the way when he started to wear a mask
Best Batman movie genre shows his humanity
That Batman Trilogy was for adults, and Chris Bale will always be the best. Amazing stories. Masterful three movies.
