I came across one of the most beautiful parts of North Wales, Honestly, I didn't know about this place until now!
So what's the backstory behind this video?
Well, I’m a Landscape photographer, based in the UK, searching for interesting locations, mainly around the UK, but also travelling further afield. I endeavour to make all of my videos as interesting as possible, with editing skills I've picked up over the years, also with adding music to match the mood of the locations and images. Using a basic set up, consisting of my DJI Osmo Action, my Mavic Pro Drone (although not all the time) and either my trusty Nikon D850 or my Nikon D7200 cameras, for the images.
I always show my images, no matter how unhappy I am with them, I think you as the viewer deserve to see the good along with the bad, after all, if it’s on the video, you've already seen behind the scenes.
So sit back, grab a coffee or a tea, relax and enjoy my slightly unprofessional, sometimes comical, but always crammed with passion video.
Don’t forget to Like, Subscribe and leave a comment, they always let me know that creating this material is being watched and appreciated.

And you have even more to discover as you head up the valley sides to higher land. It is a wonderful valley.
Yeah, I’ve just returned from my second trip and and around, it’s amazing views around there. 👍
Coed y Brenin is a gem. We haven't been for a while though but your vlog has made our mouths water. There is so much water coming down the falls too which adds to the shots.
Oh brilliant, it’s such an amazing place. Yeah the power of the water was so spectacular. Certainly one to return. Thank you so much and all the best. 👍
Wow! I agree, what a beautiful place. What's wonderful about this vlog is how your enthusiasm comes through.
Thank you so much Bill that means a lot that you can see that. All the best mate. 👍
Beautiful images Ben, what a stunning spot, just about to google and add to my list, superb vlog mate
What an amazing location. I visited there a few years ago and loved it, you've really made it look more beautiful than I remember. I love the river images, but the one that stands out for me is the one of the moss covered wall, I would have walked past that a hundred times and wouldn't have though it would have made an image, but it did and a lovely one at that. Great work Ben.
Thanks Adam, that’s really appreciated. Those random shots always catch my eye, as I’ve developed as a photographer I’ve had to focus more on the standard shots because I would spend so much time work the more detailed shots, I guess each to their own. Thanks again mate. All the best! 👍
Some really great photos there Ben. I think they would be even better in a month or two, if you get the same light.
Thank you so much, really appreciated. Yeah, I think it will be spectacular there next month. It’s such a shame I’m not in the UK over that time though but hoping to get the last of it. Thanks again, and all the best 👍
Hi Ben, that looks like a stunning location and I do love it when out and about in a 'new' area you stumble across a scene that you weren't aware of. There must be hundreds of locations in the popular area's like the Lake District, Snowdonia and Peak District to name a few that are close-ish to me that have yet to be discovered/photographed instead of the usual honeypot locations. Every year I keep saying I'll head out to explore new area's but unfortunately when I am available to go out I end up heading to those well photographed spots. I've also thought about doing what you did but just have a camera with a small lens mounted on a peak design capture clip on my rucksack, I've not done that yet either 😂
Thanks mate. Yeah I’ve got one of those clips but with the weight of the D850 and an f2.8 lens on, they don’t feel that sturdy, I tend to, when not on the bike to have it constantly attached to the tripod.
Yeah you can’t beat finding new places, absolutely love the excitement when you discover certain somewhere like this. All the best mate. 👍
Great video Ben.
Thanks mate, really appreciated. 👍
You have some beautiful pictures there Ben 🙂...Do you mind me asking where it is, it looked like you were going over to Anglesey!
Thank you so much Helen, it’s not far from Dolgellau, about 2 miles north, a forest area Coed y Brenin Forest.
Thanks Ben Just remembered you said it at the beginning of your video, I'm only an hour or so away from it, so i'll have to ask Mr Google and see if I can get a post code for it... 😅
Oh brill, I find the lower of the car parks the best, the one in the video, it’s over a small bridge, it’s free and takes you into either direction of the forest. Enjoy! 👍
@@BenMcDonaldPhotography Thank you Ben, that's one of my photography day's sorted out.
Enjoy your return visit next week...weather permitting...
Yep, officially homesick 😢
Hello mate, I hope you're all well.
Absolutely stunning photos as ever.
I'm just recovering from my hernia operation, so I'm not allowed to do anything 😒.
Another couple of weeks and I'll be causing trouble again 😅.
Cheers mate 👍
