Impressively good version with both great ukelele and vocals that had the true spirit of the song. This and the Mariachi version with Hugh on vocals are the best covers. I make you #3, after the original and the mariachi one which has the advantage of Hugh's vocals. Which makes your version the best without Hugh!! Damn good, a magic beautiful song. For me (a heroine hater) the song is about beautiful golden brown hashish and has been for decades. This, tea and composing are my thing. There is something magic abut the pyramids as both the Grateful Dead and Slayer have done classic songs using it as a backdrop. Give the 'Blues for Allah' LP a run. Tight as fuck and never a dull moment!

Golden Brown is a magic piece and the sound of the ukeleles made me think how this piece could have been played to the courts in the 1700's maybe to Frederick of Prussia or in Mozart's time up until today A timeless almost baroque piece. I)t makes me think of Bach and my favorite band of all The Doors who the Stranglers loved as did Slayer funnily enough. (see 'the Crystal Ship'', 'People are strange' and 'Hyacinth House' all very deep and sad yet beautiful like this song ). You and I are good musicians. Good luck with your career in music. Never stop! Even if your career does. I do more music now than ever!
One last comment, sorry: I suggested (And rightly so) that you to listen to Blues for Allah by the Grateful Dead. Which I then did myself. Every song except the last is excellent and worth listening to in a relaxed state of mind and as one piece. !HOWEVER MISS THE LAST LONG SONG. It is a very proggy thing and 'interesting' like Revolution # 9 is. Interesting but once is enough so it is best ignored altogether as it will ruin the flow. HOWEVER the piece before that is a beautiful acoustic instrumental jazz thing that reminded me of your ringing ukelele's. They sounded very clear, full and rich for once not just the usual weak 2nd best instruments as make do but strong and fluid, perfect for the job. Anyway again good luck and also check out the Doors. Really the most dark beautiful band ever ('This is the End' or 'The Soft Parade' or 'Riders on the Storm' the original Joy Division with a lot more songs). Peace!
