Ha, yes it's a weird lyric. Brandon Flowers says he wanted dancer to be an alternative to human so phrased it like that. I'm still not totally convinced and I think I read the other band members weren't either but they still kept it in. Surely "dancers" would have been better!

@MikeHaysomMusic yes dancers would have being way better. But "ALLEGEDLY " Brandon was interviewed on MTV and was asked what was the official wording. And he said DENSER, say like a chimpanzee who are very intelligent but still not as intelligent as a human being. allegedly that's how the story goes. Most people just sing DANCER'S so hey ho 🤣

Thanks for the question Ed. I primarily play using that approach, yes, but not necessarily exclusively. It does help with campanella because you always know where your RH fingers are at all times (and therefore which string you are plucking). With campanella it's often easier to focus on which string you are plucking next rather than what note you are playing due to the non-linear nature of it. I hope that makes sense!

I'm not sure I'm worthy of that title, the original campanella king being John King himself, of course! But thanks! I definitely learn something with each one though. I actually found this one quite easy to bring the melody out. A lot of it is in the arranging; keeping the melody notes ringing longest and choosing the right harmony notes. Then all I have to do is accent the right beats, which comes more naturally when you know the tune so well.
