Skaven are great! I speedpainted 88 of them last winter (40 clanrats, 40 plague priests, 3 stormfiends, a plague furnace, a bombadier, and a kitbashed grey seer, deathmaster, and plague priest) and it was a hoot!

Nice! I've started building a skaven army for old world and i'm gonna have to paint a fuck-ton of rats, so this was very helpful. I'm usually super slow with careful brushstrokes, will try to use the airbrush more for sure.

8:48 i wasn't fan of the verminlord model's design--didn't strike me as particularly rat-like. but man, your paint job makes me appreciate it for the first time, in particular because of how you painted the fur on its back. You've given it VOLUME; i can picture its fur bobbing and whipping about as he rampages across the battlefield, like a Bloodborne boss. And that volume makes the "silhouette" of the body beneath really stand out, to my eye at least--looks more like a skaven, less like a linebacker. Anyway phenomenal work, easily the most striking paint job I've seen for hair / fur on any model

loved this paint walkthrough! I get stuck on the painting clean like GW, this texture is way more interesting tho.
I just did my second 40k tournament and did way better than I thought I would, 7th place with a win/loss/draw 2nd place in total points on stormlance SM.

Alcohol thinned with a little water, I use isopropyl that I keep in a little tattoo artist squirt bottle and spray it between colors for heavy paints. Ultrasonic cleaners help a lot too
