It’s well known that Newey has stated he had three things he’s long wanted to do at some stage in his career. Work with Alonso, work with Hamilton and work with Ferrari. If ferrari want him, which they obviously do and have done for some time, it seems like a no-brainer, assuming the terms of his employment and standing within the team are agreeable. That said, the cost cap will have a potential influence on his personal package, which was part of the reason for Red Bull F1 having a rather unconventional working partnership with him. Personally, I hope he does go to Ferrari, as I’d like to see the sort of impact he can have. It could make for a perfect conclusion to both his and Hamilton’s careers if he worked his engineering magic, aid in the improvement of the 2026 Ferrari, with both him winning a long-converted Ferrari championship-winning car and Hamilton ending his driving career with 8 titles.

On Coulthard and Jordan's podcast with Newey, it sounded like Red Bull was his last F1 team. "Never say never, but switching teams after 19 years is like leaving your family".

I don't think many younger fans especially newcomers to the F1 world that got in through Drive to Survive what a goliath Adran Newey actually is. 13 title winning cars. That's almost what Michael and Lewis won combined.
People will realize sooner rather than later that it’s not only a designer that makes the car fast. During Ferrari 2000s there was no Adrian Newey during Merc dominance there was no Adrian Newey so all who are cheering must hold their horses coz 2026 would be different power and different engine configuration with the same engines so who knows he might design the most aerodynamically effecient car yet they don’t win a race as happened with Redbull 2014-2020, they had Adrian Newey back then but didn’t have the engine. Lots of surprises. If only Newey meant success then Verstappen would be a 10 time world champ already but he isn’t
when Newey went to RB this was a brand new team so it took him some time to get it to where it is now. But in Ferrari things are VERY different, history, tradition, technology and we are the second force in the championship at the moment, if,and I say IF, Newey comes to Ferrari for me he will do well straight away. It being understood that he will work for the 2026 project where the rules will change and everyone will start from scratch. For this reason I believe that with Newey's genius and Ferrari's professionalism and technology we will be the team to beat (or at least I hope so with my fingers crossed)

It won’t matter bruh. The new regs heavily rely on who can build the better engine. Newey was with RB from 2014-2020 (excluding the years prior/latter) and yet RB didn’t do much in those years. Why? Bc engine mattered. FIA and many F1 personalities have stated that the engine will play the biggest role 2026 onwards, meaning Newey won’t make Ferrari dominant if their engine is shit just like he didn’t make RB dominant prior to the new 2022 regs.

Yes the 2026 regulations mandate a 50/50 hybrid power balance between electrical and IC energy but to deploy that 50% of hybrid power efficiently the cars will need to have massively reduced drag which is why they are talking about creative rules to increase downforce/drag (moveable aero).
In short, to get the best out of an engine a team will need the best aero engineers. If Newey does join another team, with his skills he will be a huge asset wherever he goes.

to be honest, it will coincide with regulation changes. Newey will always be a genious but if the new regs go against his strengths (like after RB period of dominance under Vettel) he won't be able to make the best car at all. We are in a RB dominance era again, and it's likely the changes will go against key concepts of this time, against Newey's design philosophy. All I see is a contender, but I'm sure LH was promised a championship winning car. We will see, but I don't think it will go his way

The excitement over the potential of Newey joining Ferrari and transforming it into a powerhouse alongside Hamilton is quite amusing to me. While Hamilton has undoubtedly claimed championships, he's not at the peak of his career anymore. Moreover, although Newey achieved success with his design prowess in the past, his contributions to Red Bull have decreased since his bike accident, with much of the innovative work attributed to the team as a whole, including individuals like Pierre Weché. If Ferrari secures Newey after signing Hamilton, it could arguably be their most significant and costly misstep yet.
