Fun fact I learned the other day: Jeff Ward has been cast as Buggy for YEARS, back when he and Matt Owens were working on Agents of Shield, Matt Owens was already working on getting One Piece written and he asked Jeff Ward to be Buggy all the way back then, and they've been discussing it ever since! I couldn't have asked for anyone to better portray one of my favorite characters in all of One Piece!
Buggy's nose is not painted red, he was just born with his nose on that color and on that shape! Lol! His clown aesthetic can be seen as more of a disguise to hide that, since its not weird for clowns to have big red noses. Its rather common for humans on the one piece world to just be born with some very weird body parts, to the point some of them can be considered entire diferent species with their own tribes, nations and culture based on their unusual bodies.

And besides imagine a being a little kid growing up with a nose like that, it's going to be a sore spot no matter how you slice it. (pun intended). There is probably alot of trauma related to it I imagine and he did sort of find a way to deal with it. Little kids tend to get abandoned or in some other way end up without parents alot in the OP world. It's hard to talk about One Piece without giving any spoilers away. But just keep in mind Buggy and Shanks where friends (Buggy is not lying).(I mean you can only truly resent someone if you cared about them in the first place) I think we don't even know all of their full backstory yet even after over a 1000 chapters. Though what I can say is that some of Buggy's resentment towards Shanks is misplaced and some if it isn't. Buggy does project his issues with Shanks on Luffy, because he sees Shanks in Luffy and you already sort of saw that in this episode so I don't feel like that is spoiling anything.

The welding mask could work too, there are other characters later on in one piece who do hide their face like that. I guess we'll see what colour it really is naturally when Buggy appears without makeup later on (if they get that far).

It's a physical thing... but to my knowledge, never confirmed to be actually at Laugh Tale. My personal theory is that the One Piece was Luffy's hat the whole time.

I've only seen the live action, but it seems obvious to me that freedom is its own reward, and those who seek it, find it, and appreciate it have a greater treasure than any physical item that could ever be found. I assume at the very end, when Eiichiro Oda grows tired of making it, Luffy will find the One Piece, become the king of the pirates, but that will pale in comparison to the friends he made along the way, his memories of the adventures, and the freedom he has lived and loved for as long as his life has been up til that point. And I expect Luffy will carry on as he has been, his new title notwithstanding, and be happy and optimistic as ever, improving the lives of those around him.

That said, there will be a treasure (and it's not Luffys hat as I said previously, I've now noticed stuff in the manga that rules it out). But also, as an aside One Piece is not just one endless story that goes on and on until Oda feels like putting to an end to it, it's a story that has been building and building and is now approaching its final stage. Not because Oda is tired of it, it's part of the natural progression of the manga.

Who wouldn't like Shanks? Especially in the West. We are so deprived of positive male role models portrayed in television or movies. Father figures? Hollywood hates them. Men actually being good? Not allowed. This show has multiples of them, Shanks probably being the best of them.

Note: not every powerful character in OP has, or really NEEDS Devil Fruit abilities/powers. U have already met 5 Roger, Garp, Shanks, Bogard (the dude dressed like a 1920’s detective that’s always with Garp), and Zoro. U will meet a few more in the live action👌
Ok this one actually is spoilers. Shanks is kind of implied to not have DF already; but the others (except Zoro) aren't even implied to be strong yet, never mind have no DF. Also for some of those characters we don't even know if they had a DF even in the manga. For all you know some of them could have a Cat fruit or a Revive fruit.
Yeah, I'd call that spoilers, having seen nothing but the live action. Also today I learned the film noir guy who is secretly my favorite is named Bogard. Awesome. I hope that I eventually learn what his deal is, in due time, not early.

I think the person who said that has no idea how big the sun is. I found a drawing on Google where the One Piece world is even bigger than the sun, which is complete nonsense. The Reverse Mountain is there already many times bigger than the Earth. The straw hat crew would have to travel this mountain for several weeks.
@@tosa2522 The large size of One Piece world is based on Alabasta being enormous (with a 50 km wide river) despite being a small island on the Grand Line; and characters needing binoculars to see whole islands (that would be over the horizon if there were the same curvature as the earth, although on the other hand this does undermine the point of having birds nests on ships). Regardless of the size of OP earth though, Reverse mountain has to have some explanation other than a small size. If you're going by the maps, reverse mountain is still the size of Germany or something if OP world is the size of earth; and even if you aren't extrapolating to the whole planet, alabasta is smaller than reverse mountain on the same maps. I'd say there are two explanations for this (I think the answer is a combination of the two): ships gets slammed up and down reverse mountain at enormous speeds due to the extremely fast current going up and down; but also those maps are not to scale (as evidenced by OP world being apparently 99% water when the maps portray the red line bigger than that).

The world was carefully created over 25 years by Oda (the creator) in my opinion there is no real way to see how large the world is. You could watch the series over and over and will still find things you have missed. I have read the manga, watched the series in sub and dub, and I still get amazed at the vastness of Oda's creation. The best part of this show is there is something for everyone!
Just a small detail, in the anime and manga, buggy's feet must remain on the ground before he can use his chop chop ability but in LA he can make all his body parts detached and float freely including his feet.
you know the LA is good, when it raises the same questions and forebodes the same things as the manga and anime. I so enjoy watching people come to one piece and being as confused as the long term fans, looking forward to more videos

@@studiobeaming I would suggest just watching the regular anime up until like 500 episodes in (don't fret about that number too much 🤣) and then consider One Pace. The pacing is absolutely fine except for one major arc much later in the series. People exaggerate the pacing problem because they're watching weekly. When you can binge or watch like 3 in a row it's fine, and by the time it becomes a problem you'll be too engrossed in the story to care ✌ I've seen some channels skyrocket in subscribers by focusing on One Piece. The fanbase is ravenous, but it really depends on the CZcams algorithm. Best of luck to you guys :)

About DF they are all different but share the same weakness. When splash with seawater the get weak and when fully submerge they cant swim no matter how hard they try they just cant. They just keep falling to the bottom.
The show even introduces it with “takes away your strength” not “abilities.” At one point in anime Luffy’s feet are trapped underwater and he is only kept alive by two characters (taking turns) stretching his head all the way up above the waterline while the other is underwater administering CPR to keep him breathing. Also, re: Shanks’ GET LOST moment. DF powers are usually named when they’re used and most often involve obviously physically impossible feats. Body transformation or environment manipulation is Devil Fruit. Someone with feats of enhanced speed, strength, or willpower is more likely highly trained or using [SOMETHING ELSE]
Doubt, you saw my comment in the last video, so just in case. There's countless Devil Fruits, outside The Grand Line, you'll see be lucky to see a double-digit amount of Devil Fruits, and there's one of each that exists until whoever ate it dies then it goes back into circulation. You eat one you lose your powers while you're in it and can't swim, Shanks didn't eat one because it's obvious he swam out to save Luffy, so please, nobody give grief in the comments. I didn't say what it was, but he clearly swam, so no Devil Fruit

12:20 Just to be clear when a Devil Fruit user is submerged in any type of water they lose all their strength (its not Sea Water its any kind of water that weakens a Devil Fruit users), but importantly they don't lose their abilities despite being in the water (although with their strength taken from them they can't move anyway).

Devil Fruit weakness clarification: the sea takes away your strength... but not your power. Luffy is still stretchy underwater, he just loses strength until he can no longer stand up, move his arms, or hold his breath if submerged for long enough. And the Live Action adaptation is painting the picture that this is a process, so the longer you're under the longer it takes to recover (hence why Buggy was up and at 'em right away after being bowled over, but Luffy needed a few minutes to get back to his feet) in addition to the loss happening faster the more of you is submerged. So no, his tummy was fine even when he was fully submerged. :P
@studio Beaming Its not on record that the earth of one piece is as big as the sun its just been theories by thoerist because of the clues and how gravity and all that stuff works in one piece world so its not something you will ever see come up in one piece universe.
There's actually an answer to how far Luffy can stretch! in the manga, the author runs little Q&A sections where readers can submit questions about the world and characters for him to elaborate on. The official measurement for how far Luffy can stretch himself is about 72 gum-gums.
also, an important bit on how the Devil Fruits work and the whole sea-taking-your-powers thing. Devil Fruit users can't ACTIVATE their powers when they're submerged in seawater, but Luffy's power is a permanent change to his body: He just IS made of rubber, so he doesn't stop being rubber when he's in water. Meanwhile, Buggy wouldn't be able to separate/recombine when in the sea, because his body isn't permanently chopped up, he does it selectively by activating his ability. The main problem is that being in the sea drains your strength. Devil Fruit eaters become weak and lethargic and unable to move. The effect gets stronger the longer they're submerged. 'The Sea' is defined as any container that holds water, technically. I don't know if the series ever goes into detail on this, but it seems like the closer the container is to the actual ocean, the stronger the effect: A freshwater bath drains very slowly (to the point that it's basically negligible, as Devil Fruit eaters are shown taking baths at multiple points in the series and are totally fine), but salt water or large natural formations like a lake or river drain it more quickly. In the manga, the entire boat is destroyed and Shanks is swimming in the ocean when he tells the Sea monster to get lost, so it is definitely not a Devil Fruit power. In the original, it's actually just presented as Shanks being so dang intimidating that he scares it off by giving it a glare and a scowl. They made it extra dramatic here so a lot of people think it's a Devil Fruit, but he basically just scared the thing off with his sheer intimidating presence.
Just to add some clarification as some others have stated, which unfortunately the show doesn't detail more which causes some of the confusion, is that devil fruit users can't use their powers when they are in/get hit by seawater but as well as it saps away their physical strength/energy. Thats why no devil fruit user can swim because they just don't have the strength to do so and will drown if they don't get help to get out of the water. Last nugget is there are some crazy strong people in the show, being live action you can't fully display it correctly without it seemingly like they have devil fruit powers, but there are people who just have crazy strength, super fast ect just from training and whatnot. Prime example you've seen thus far is Zoro is VERY strong as he lifted that safe in the first episode but he doesn't have DF powers. There are more examples later on but just wanted to share since don't want to be in the mindset that every crazy thing is related to devil fruits. Some yes but not all as this is based off a manga so gonna always have that type of thing in worlds like this.

I'm pretty sure Buggy's nose is naturally red in the manga. They probably decided to make it painted so the series feels more realistic. In season 2 there should be another character with a prominent natural coloured nose, I wait to see if they keep it as natural that time.

The world was carefully created over 25 years by Oda (the creator) in my opinion there is no real way to see how large the world is. You could watch the series over and over and will still find things you have missed. I have read the manga, watched the series in sub and dub, and I still get amazed at the vastness of Oda's creation. The best part of this show is there is something for everyone!
Just a small detail, in the anime and manga, buggy's feet must remain on the ground before he can use his chop chop ability but in LA he can make all his body parts detached and float freely including his feet.
In the manga they're quite inconsistent about it though. Right before his feet walk on the ground, he throws his legs with chop chop buzzsaw.

@@studiobeaming I would suggest just watching the regular anime up until like 500 episodes in (don't fret about that number too much 🤣) and then consider One Pace. The pacing is absolutely fine except for one major arc much later in the series.
People exaggerate the pacing problem because they're watching weekly. When you can binge or watch like 3 in a row it's fine, and by the time it becomes a problem you'll be too engrossed in the story to care ✌
I've seen some channels skyrocket in subscribers by focusing on One Piece. The fanbase is ravenous, but it really depends on the CZcams algorithm. Best of luck to you guys :)

and it's still up to you, but i second the motion to watch the normal one. i didn't try the one pace bcs i want the journey and i don't regret a single bit. those are just my two cents, have a good day!

I think it's easy to get caught up in feeling like you have to be a content-creating machine in this day and age, so it's almost difficult to take your time with things. I hope this can remain a chill thing for us, and a chill thing for y'all too

well, that's true too. everything's pressuring people to do more, create more, consume more. smh. but, i would also like to bring up that one piece has been going on for more than 2 decades. some of us grew up with it. and you'll likely encounter fans who'll watch your vids to relive the days they had with the story bcs, the same thing i'm here for, if possible, a lot of us would love to experience it for the first time again.
also another alternative and as an example, ishinobi is halfway through the anime rn, and he watched the anime without the filler episodes except for the famous G8 anime only arc. and well, we're riding on his journey with him. haha.

About DF they are all different but share the same weakness. When splash with seawater the get weak and when fully submerge they cant swim no matter how hard they try they just cant. They just keep falling to the bottom.
The show even introduces it with “takes away your strength” not “abilities.” At one point in anime Luffy’s feet are trapped underwater and he is only kept alive by two characters (taking turns) stretching his head all the way up above the waterline while the other is underwater administering CPR to keep him breathing.
Also, re: Shanks’ GET LOST moment. DF powers are usually named when they’re used and most often involve obviously physically impossible feats. Body transformation or environment manipulation is Devil Fruit. Someone with feats of enhanced speed, strength, or willpower is more likely highly trained or using [SOMETHING ELSE]
Doubt, you saw my comment in the last video, so just in case. There's countless Devil Fruits, outside The Grand Line, you'll see be lucky to see a double-digit amount of Devil Fruits, and there's one of each that exists until whoever ate it dies then it goes back into circulation. You eat one you lose your powers while you're in it and can't swim, Shanks didn't eat one because it's obvious he swam out to save Luffy, so please, nobody give grief in the comments. I didn't say what it was, but he clearly swam, so no Devil Fruit

12:20 Just to be clear when a Devil Fruit user is submerged in any type of water they lose all their strength (its not Sea Water its any kind of water that weakens a Devil Fruit users), but importantly they don't lose their abilities despite being in the water (although with their strength taken from them they can't move anyway).

Devil Fruit weakness clarification: the sea takes away your strength... but not your power. Luffy is still stretchy underwater, he just loses strength until he can no longer stand up, move his arms, or hold his breath if submerged for long enough. And the Live Action adaptation is painting the picture that this is a process, so the longer you're under the longer it takes to recover (hence why Buggy was up and at 'em right away after being bowled over, but Luffy needed a few minutes to get back to his feet) in addition to the loss happening faster the more of you is submerged.
So no, his tummy was fine even when he was fully submerged. :P
@studio Beaming Its not on record that the earth of one piece is as big as the sun its just been theories by thoerist because of the clues and how gravity and all that stuff works in one piece world so its not something you will ever see come up in one piece universe.

There's actually an answer to how far Luffy can stretch! in the manga, the author runs little Q&A sections where readers can submit questions about the world and characters for him to elaborate on.
The official measurement for how far Luffy can stretch himself is about 72 gum-gums.
also, an important bit on how the Devil Fruits work and the whole sea-taking-your-powers thing. Devil Fruit users can't ACTIVATE their powers when they're submerged in seawater, but Luffy's power is a permanent change to his body: He just IS made of rubber, so he doesn't stop being rubber when he's in water. Meanwhile, Buggy wouldn't be able to separate/recombine when in the sea, because his body isn't permanently chopped up, he does it selectively by activating his ability.
The main problem is that being in the sea drains your strength. Devil Fruit eaters become weak and lethargic and unable to move. The effect gets stronger the longer they're submerged.
'The Sea' is defined as any container that holds water, technically. I don't know if the series ever goes into detail on this, but it seems like the closer the container is to the actual ocean, the stronger the effect: A freshwater bath drains very slowly (to the point that it's basically negligible, as Devil Fruit eaters are shown taking baths at multiple points in the series and are totally fine), but salt water or large natural formations like a lake or river drain it more quickly.
In the manga, the entire boat is destroyed and Shanks is swimming in the ocean when he tells the Sea monster to get lost, so it is definitely not a Devil Fruit power. In the original, it's actually just presented as Shanks being so dang intimidating that he scares it off by giving it a glare and a scowl. They made it extra dramatic here so a lot of people think it's a Devil Fruit, but he basically just scared the thing off with his sheer intimidating presence.
Just to add some clarification as some others have stated, which unfortunately the show doesn't detail more which causes some of the confusion, is that devil fruit users can't use their powers when they are in/get hit by seawater but as well as it saps away their physical strength/energy. Thats why no devil fruit user can swim because they just don't have the strength to do so and will drown if they don't get help to get out of the water.
Last nugget is there are some crazy strong people in the show, being live action you can't fully display it correctly without it seemingly like they have devil fruit powers, but there are people who just have crazy strength, super fast ect just from training and whatnot. Prime example you've seen thus far is Zoro is VERY strong as he lifted that safe in the first episode but he doesn't have DF powers. There are more examples later on but just wanted to share since don't want to be in the mindset that every crazy thing is related to devil fruits. Some yes but not all as this is based off a manga so gonna always have that type of thing in worlds like this.
