theres also the Datamined Epic Game Store DataBase Which Shows a Project Named CodeName Momo along with a whole lot dlc´s for it like tetra master pack dlc,thiefs knifes dlc,cuisine dlc along with other dlc´s and Momo is the project Code name of FF9Remake its not the actual name but a Working Title instead like a placeholder title

My guess is that it will be officially announced on FF9's 25th anniversary next year.
FF9 remake needs to be turn-based! I don't think they understand that while many do not like the system, the ones who have nostalgia for these games and want them remade loved the turn-based systems. I don't enjoy FF7 Remake nearly as much as I should do because of the combat.

I 1000% support turn based final fantasy games, they are just better in my opinion but it would be nice to see turn based rather than the ATB from the OG. I also feel like it would be cool to allow players to play the game in turn based or like 7 remake/15 style if the player chooses. Would give different options for different players.
I dont understand what you dont like about ff7 remake and rebirth combat. Is the best ever, and I'll tell you why. Because it can be turn based or action based, so you choose. Thats the keyword here. Your choice. Games should give that.
@@fernandom6072 It isnt turn based and it makes having a party almost useless because in order to build there gauges you have to swap to that character. The ai for the characters you arent controlling is about useless. They literally made an entirely different game. Which is fine alot of people like it but i would have been happier with an exact replica with todays graphics.

Agreed. FF7 Rebirth combat is phenomenal but i think the turn based style is more appropriate for this game since it’s closer to the FF series in terms of gameplay

Final Fantasy 9 was the first game I consciously remember beating. I was ten years old when it was released and I basically commandeered it from my stepfather. I cried when I beat it because I felt that I lost my friends. It created my love for gaming and story-telling. It's my favorite of the series, and possibly my favorite game of all-time. I've beaten it about 3 more times over the years, squeezing out one 100% playthrough. I truly wish they do it justice by keeping it turn-based and keeping the story the same with some added content or backstory on more characters. In my humble opinion, it is the greatest game ever forgotten by time and one of the greatest stories ever told. If it does come out, I will be eternally grateful to the creators and developers.
I'll play any RPG. From turn-based to action. Role-playing games with excellent stories are all I play anymore. From Final Fantasies to Dragon Quest.

I would absolutely LOVE if Final Fantasy 9 got a remake with nothing but updated graphics. Like, even the original music stayed intact, but I know that’s practically impossible with how studios are today. As long as the music was faithful and good to the original though, I’d be happy. Some of the music in Rebirth was atrocious, like that Chocobo song in Cosmo Canyon.
If the FF9 remake was turn-based with updated graphics and good (faithful to the original) music, I’d be ecstatic. No new story, no butchered additions that make the overall story a mess (looking at you, Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy), just a fantastic classic game brought into this generation.
They will get my money no matter how good the remake is because I am a sucker for this game.

I feel that despite them wanting Final Fantasy IX Remake to be turn based that they would inevitably make it action based like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to appeal to the masses who appreciate action based games more than turn based ones in order to get more cash. I'm okay with that as I used to play turn based games but since then have only purchased action games as I can't get back into turn based games.

I don’t think so. It would make both games unique. I love the combat in rebirth. I’d actually prefer to have it be true to the original but just upgrade the graphics to modern day and potentially utilize the features of the PS5 controller somehow. It should look like a great animated film that you are controlling but using turn based fighting. Or something like that.
Really doubt it. Ff9 was designed to be a love letter to the past, and that was 25 years ago. It is core to the games identity. It’s the games defining feature and no one wants it to be FF7.

I’ve never said this before about any other project of theirs, but they need to subcontract sakaguchi as a consultant and Nobuo should also be subcontracted too. Classic ff has the sakaguchi signature all over it and it’s what’s been missing. His sense of balance. His ability to latch onto good ideas, and know a bad or unnecessary one when he sees it.
I hope it is turn based! Combat was one of the best things of these games!

Ultimately, i think the Memoria Project / WoFF art style would work best for the FF9 remake. I Also agree with the sentiment that the direction of FF7 remake, its not feasible... i also would prefer that turn based for this one, for FF8 I would go for action combat for instance.

Everyone also needs to take into account of this:
FF7 Remake and its projects are not really "Remaking" FF7. Nomura addresses FF7 Remake, Rebirth and the final remake project are as if FF7 was made today with modern hardware. They aren't your typical remake projects. Its not keeping the original core intact, rather showing how it can work if it was made today, as I said.
FF9 Remake would be on the same levels as Nix states in the video a Crisis Core Remake level. Where its upgraded graphics but the core feeling of the game remains the same, with a polished tone to recreate what the game originally intended.
Do I want FF9 Remake to feature the Modern FF7 Remake Action based combat like FF7 Remake?
That wouldn't be up to me as a fan to wish it to be that way, but I would welcome it as FF7 Remake's combat was insanely fun and I do want that to be a revised standard of the modern action combat genre for FF titles going forward. However sticking to Turn Based Combat would not only keep it original and have fans of the older gameplay be able to enjoy a combat genre they prefer, but revamp it with flashy modern graphics. Voice acting would also be introduced here too most likely, if they want to go that length.

Is that the point? To make the player go back and play the original? I think that is true for FF7 but I’d rather see FFIX in its full glory using PS5 hardware and controller features but the game would be a true remake of the original. I don’t think would want to go back to play the original tbh. FF7 is its own special game and is probably one of the few where i would want to play the original. Not every remake needs to be as grand scale as FF7. TBH. I would like to see them remake the original FF7 game in it’s full glory on PS5 too. Playing it in modern graphics with better pixel quality. I think it would be a must better experience while still having that nostalgia.
@Dis2good but if a remake plays like the original in terms of how combat system works, then the only diffentiation would be just the graphics aside from whether or not they would do a world map or not, then what real motivation would make them go play the original then if they come to realize the game plays the same?
@@firekungfuhero1150 well, that was my question. Does it matter more that someone plays the original or does it matter more that the game gets recognized as a great game? I think if they remade it using today’s hardware and graphics along with the features of the controller, the game could possibly be an overall better game, reaching its true potential. It wouldn’t matter that no one plays the original as long as everyone can recognize that it’s a great game.
For instance, they can add voice acting on top of the written dialogue. It shouldn’t require an overhaul to the gameplay and it would keep the player engaged with the game moreso than reading the written dialogue boxes (and there could even be an option to turn the voice off to make it feel more like the original). Or keep the traditional turn based gameplay but when you use summons, it can be a full animated action sequence since the summons don’t stay in the combat like with FF7. These are small subtle changes but can enhance the overall experience of the game.
@Dis2good but again, it defeat the purpose of ever porting the original on newer platforms, then the original gets overshadowed to the point where they might as well delist the original game altogether or what's the point for having the original still on modern digital stores!?
@@firekungfuhero1150 You can still have and appreciate the original and a modern remake that is faithful to the original. Super Mario RPG on the Switch is a prime example of this. A modern version with quality of life improvements, but it plays exactly the same as the original SNES game. Both can still exist. If someone still wants to experience the original they can, but if someone wants the core of the original in tact, but with QOL improvements, the remake option is also there. Plus, it allows developers to do things in the remake that they wanted to, but couldn't because of hardware limitations without completely changing the gameplay.
They always seem to mess it up. We’ll see.
Final fantasy 7 I'm happy for the remakes, opening up new stories and characters and I still hope for a story where a red 13 nanaki or one of his species becomes a biped and uses a kusarigama urumi whip as a weapon, just like a character in the mana series, visions which has the princess legend children or and the tactics version which in a remake or continuation I would love to see a character with a class with a weapon in this style similar to Auron from ffx10 or glogg from musashiden samurai legends ps2, xenogear, a class with this type of weapon or more in final fantasy tactics with about 3 squares of attack distance range, among others such as boomerangs and cutters and new job classes based on ff3,4,5,6,7,8, 9,10x and 14 dawntrail and Vagrant story magic spell sorceror type abilities.
But in ff9 the remake is also good, I see that the graphic and image quality of the cg scene is improved and better and clearer graphics and images are removed from it to remake the game, the graphic image is beautiful, playing the cg is something like zelda awakens and now it appears to be almost completely open world in this remake of ff9, which is very incredible, but what I most hope for in remakes and productions like this besides the graphical improvement which is amazing and the possibility of adding new parts story and even characters to the game.
I would love to see a wu kong saiyuki with a class and job using a whip weapon like Kurama from yuyu hakusho in this version of the game added to rival Zidane in addition to steiner, armarant or freya or just add this type of weapon to quina's weapon inventory, but If not now, who knows, in a sequel in the break in the story or a new story that is a continuation of this ninth version or if it is painted in the anime of ff9, if it comes out and starts from it, then, finally, visions of possibilities for some new game from Square or another developer studio and game, but I saw it and was surprised that atlus made beat em ups action adventure half rpg they were good at making different game versions with a known game title with known or completely new characters it could be good for everyone valkirye profile and kingdom heart magical mickey quest adventure can be very good in these styles, just like the series, but ff9 plays, if remake is a graphical improvement for now so be it, come ff9 remake, ova and animes, go square.

I hope Yoshida isn't working on FFIX Remake. I expect it to be announced within the next month or two. If I were to guess, sooner rather than later.
I honestly don't believe there is a Final Fantasy IX Remake in the works. I want to, but Square-Enix doesn't stay this quiet on their projects. Even when they should.
This isn't confirmation that SE is working on it, only that Yoshi-P isn't working on it.
I would love to be wrong. I love FF IX, but this feels like a pipe-dream right now.
There is way too much smoke for FF9 remake to not actually be in development. I personally believe its in production.
@NIXNE up until "Midori's" outing, I had come to believe. Before that, I was skeptical.
But, as was pointed out in other places, the Tetra Madster starter pack and the dagger dlc weapon are likely bonuses for the Dawntrail release, which we know has IX inspired content.
I'm not definitively stating that there isn't a FFIX Remake, only that I remain highly skeptical.
@@drewtheunspoken3988 we already know the dlc and preorder bonuses for XIV and none of them lined up with these new DLCs nor were any new DLC announced for XIV or teased to have more coming.
Yoshi P needs to stay far away for IX. I had a hard time enjoying XVI
FFXVI was really just a FFXIV expansion. It played that way from how static the characters were in cutscenes to the fetch quests. I honestly couldn't get into it despite picking up XIV a few years ago because I saw how cool XVI looked😂. I feel like he isn't doing it but they are gonna use IX for the new XIV expansion on his end.

Regardless I feel like we might FINALLY see an official reveal for FF9 Remake before the end of the year (assuming of course KH4 isn't until 2026 as rumored/reported). Where? Uh... idk my best guesses are either September PlayStation Showcase (if that's a thing) TGS or TGA. Either way hopefully we'll see it soon because I think I'm getting tired of all this info about it and no official reveal lol
My personal speculation (and this is just me okay?) is that the 2025 Square Enix games are FF9 Remake and FF Tactics Remastered. Sorry KH fans. But obviously this is just me and I could be wrong. Obviously.

Keep the story, with a little tweaks. But the Core should stay the same. This could be an excellent oppurtunity to actually get to know the characters at a deeper level.
Keep the turnbased combat, introduce something new to theese brain dead actiongame players…

Have not played the latent ff7 remake part 2, but KEEP the worlmap, this makes the game actually feel like a World… (maybe they still got the worldmap in ff7 remake part 2, i dont know).

I should've known Final Fantasy 9 will be remade sooner or later. The Final Fantasy devs have run out of ideas for a new Final Fantasy game. I just have few words to say to em. Garnet my most loved Final Fantasy female character is a big boobed 16years old girl. Very clearly seen in some cutscenes where she wears the Queen dress. Don't you guys dare to reduce her size! Or put a Black Thing like what they did to Young Tifa... Then I will consider playing the 9Remake. This is serious, I loved Garnet more than Tifa okay! Known her since year 2000...
I'd be happy if they released the ff9 anime and then announced an almost finished ffx remake instead of an ff9 remake. Realistically I'd be happy with either one but if I had to choose only one,9 wouldn't be the one but itd be really close for me personally.
Final Fantasy 9 Remake must be play on mobile too.. dont care if the armor weapon etc will be buy to the shop or can be farm through monster but it takes a lot of time or make it an MMORPG were u need to find ur own party or some friend u know to play and it will be a turn based but depends on ur ATB action time bar speed.. ATB spd can be speed up through armor weapon enchantment upgrade or some rare weapon armor with special effect something like that.. that will be good

4:05 I vastly disagree, the original IX was full of bad writing, plot holes and plain stupid moments, the Remake needs to change and fix all of this like VIIR is doing, ESPECIALLY Garnet’s stupidity at the end of Disk 1 Lindblum and the poorly done love story.
