Are you searching for a comfortable bike saddle (seat) to alleviate pressure or pain while riding? Check out the review of the Specialized Power Pro Mirror saddle.
This is the most comfortable bike saddle (seat) I’ve ever used. That’s quite a way to start a review, but, in my 27 years of riding bikes from road to mountain, I can safely say, this is the pinnacle of bike saddle comfort. Specialized is not new to the body ergonomics space, in fact they’ve invested heavily in designing products from shoes to chamois, to saddles that are mapped to work with the human form. In fact, it started back in 1997 when Specialized developed their Body Geometry department to help solve erectile dysfunction issues. Since then, their Body Geometry or BG wing has grown, added Specialized’s cutting edge Retul technology and now, Mirror Technology to their offerings.
THE LAB
What is Mirror Tech? Specialized uses a 3D printed EPU matrix with variable density to conform and mold to your body in any direction. While many saddles us a single-density foam, Mirror-equipped saddles have the ability to be infinitely dense thanks to the application of this material. It performs similar to rubber and has a nice rebound property to it.
By taking the BG and Retul data, heat maps and pressure points of how riders sit on their saddles, Specialized has been able to print this matrix in a way that’s supportive across a wider area of the sit bones without constriction of hot spots. It’s sort of like a bottomless hammock.
Available in either a 143 or 155 width, the Specialized Power Pro Mirror saddle can accommodate a variety of sized riders.
Price: $325
Weight: 245g

Come on…. We all need to boycott MTB industry. 400$ .. Ridiculous
Where are you getting $400? It's $275 with the coupon.
For the saddle? Jesus. 70 at most and that better come with unicorn dust
They got us by the balls
You could probably find a more comfortable seat at a big-box store. Walmart, Target, etc.
Under $30.
My balls are worth it😁
I love the idea of this saddle, but it is still a little cost prohibitive. I am currently running the Ergon SM E-Mountain Pro. This saddle has been great, and with the higher ramp on the rear, makes climbing more comfortable than others I have tried. I have this on my Orbea Rise M20.
That Ergon saddle is what I’ve found most comfortable as well and it’s still $170.
WTB Rocket V has been my go to for years.
$325-$425🤣🤣🤣
I've been blown away by my DVO saddle and I've tried a lot
I payed 400.00 for my first mountain bike back in the day, but this saddle looks interesting.
The only saddle that I’ve ever found to be totally comfortable. If you’re already comfy, don’t buy it. Worth it for me.
how does this compare to the cloud 9 saddle? I'm really struggling to find a sadle that I find comfortable. I'm a bigger guy so there's more pressure in certain areas for me than a thinner guy would notice.
I've enjoyed WTB Volts for short rides and Brooks Cambium for all day rides. That Brooks isn't always bike park friendly though. Been eyeballing this family of saddles for a while.
Might have to check one out, love my levo and enduro. I measured sit bones, I would try out the 155.
Let us know what you think! And try LOAMWOLF15 at competitive. Hopefully it’ll save you a few bucks too.
I have been using the power saddle for ten years and love it. I just use the power comp it has the carbon shell but is on like $120
This
@@jmdrstv The body Geometry Power comp. Looks similar to that one but has more open gap in the middle and much cheaper.
Ive had 2 body geometry Specialized saddles. Not any different from any other saddles Ive used.
Damnit I just bought the Ergon E MTB saddle. Now I’m a sucker for this
The ergon saddles are pretty damn good too, you won't be disappointed.
i got this saddle. it's ok it was on sale im happy with it
Thanks for sharing
I was excited until I saw the price! 🤯
🤣 I closed the video player window
Same, oh this is cool.... Wait nope
cheaper versions available from your favorite online seller :)
@@galenkehler same seat or same style from different companies?
After reading some comments it’s interesting what amount of money people are not willing to spend on keeping their groin area safe from saddle abuse. I just bought a Levo thanks to you guys. Also because I wanted to relieve the stress of having to hammer in the saddle to get up the mountain, when all I really care about is standing up and hammering down mountains. Bottom line though is this that this saddle is pretty ridiculously priced. I’m sure it required a lot of r&d just like most things MTB but at that price is Specialized doing the riders a favor? Or are the riders doing the big brand a favor? A more win/win price point would be more respectable
Thanks for sharing and we hope you enjoy the new bike!
We don't disagree that the price is prohibitively expensive for a large majority of people, including us! That being said, we tried to approach this as product reviewers examining a product and what it may do for people who are searching or in need or relief...Would we love it if the saddle cost $200 or even $150, yes for sure. BUT, that doesn't take away from the fact this is the most comfortable saddle I've ever ridden. Appreciate you writing in.
@@TheLoamWolfif you tried the Ergon e-mountain seat. Is the Mirror saddle more comfortable than Ergon saddle? Thanks
wtb volt titanium medium...same width is 204 grams...its comfy and $128.
Wish they made this one in 168mm. I have for lack of a better term, a fat ass, and I need a 168mm saddle. Ended up with a Specialized Bridge Comp with MIMIC and I absolutely love it. Love Specialized saddles.
How much is it
I really like my Tioga Stratum undercover
Wouldn’t you get a wet backside in the wet? I’m in Scotland and my saddles underside is always covered at end of a ride. Think the honeycomb would let a lot of crud through.
$400 wet/muddy bottom
I'm from the same ive never considered that, iam considering this saddle thou, it's just getting my arse bone measured thats hard, sick messing about on bits of wet cardboard lol
Man.. I got my Schwinn Hydroformed bike with WTB saddle for about the same price.
Did you tilt it up or down or level?
Slightly nose down.
So What is the Verdict after 7 months? Is it worth it? does it last?🙂.............My butt hurts after my first ride in 2 years, 600CAD sounds like a bargain today if it works
Still love it!!
I had the power comp saddle that came with my bike. I bought the power pro mirror and it’s nice !!
I bet I could make a more comfortable saddle out of 400 literal dollar bills. That's the only way I'm paying that for a saddle.
😂
I'd like to see that. Do it!
I got a version of this on a Diverge. Its absolutely not the most comfortable bike seat. I had to change it because it was so god damned uncomfortable.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing. Seats, like many other touch point items are very personal and you are the first person we've heard of not enjoying a Mirror-equipped saddle.
@@TheLoamWolf For sure. Seats are personal. I usually use the Ergon SM Comp road saddle on all bikes. I tried the MTB version but didn't get on with it. They are practically the same. It's weird.
Saddle is comfortable true enough but I’ve seen some deform (compress). Too much $$ for something that lacks durability.
You can get a specialized power comp for like $125. I have them on all my bikes and I love it
Thanks for the suggestion and input! We'll check that one out.
insane rip-off
I bought this second hand for $200 .
That’s a sweet score. Hope you like it
At AUD$690 this saddle is hardly likely to be something people are going to purchase with the uncertainty of whether it actually is comfortable or not.
Especially if it breaks down in a few short months
That's a ridiculous price point.
Yes. And there are hundreds if not thousands of options that cost less under $50.
I will stick with Selle SMP TRK Gel for 70€, no other seat is as comfy.
Durability must be great with no leather to rip...but $400!? Holy crap!
Yeah it sure ain't cheap...
Dude, it's $275 with the coupon.
It's videos like this that helped me realize I don't want to watch or follow MTB channels anymore.
Who needs another video talking about why we need some useless upgrade on some component that nobody cares about?
The bicycle industry caters to the rich. And
You mean it’s just a seat? Where’s the rest of the bike under it for that price.
Hey man - I tried to buy one from competitive cyclist and applied your promo code but it doesnt work. Says not eligible for discount. What the heck?! Super weaksauce!
$150-200 would be on the high end for a saddle but $325? That's over the top.
Thanks but no, thanks. No amount of plushness would make me spend more than $400 in a bike seat. You can buy an entire (cheap, for sure) bike for that amount of money and give it away to someone who can't afford it. The world is going nuts, really.
Totally agree. Calling BS on this
Selle Italia SLR $99 ftw
A saddle for dentists. I'll stick with my Sq Lab 611.
4:13 -- I'd like to be an outhouse tester, please.
325 for a bike seat, good luck with that
Stopped the video when I saw the price. Lol
Wow…$400…I think I’ll stick with an old pillow and some duct tape!
Hahaha. Points for creativity!
Do they realize that this is just a seat? Good luck selling any of these.
The price is laughable
Probably amazing 😶
Where is poor man edition 😅
We're wondering the same thing... Cuz that's the one we'd buy.
Give it time. New technology is always expensive.
Comfortable? Is that all at that price? Just merely comfortable? For that money it should be winning races for me as well. Come on!
Selle SMP F30
It better be amazing! Its 300 fucking pounds!
How much?! Umm... I stopped watching after I saw the price. Come on man, when are channels gonna realize who their audience really is?
Probably better off spending 200 to get a professional bike fitting and 100-150 on the right saddle then buy this.
Or get a bike fit, then use this accordingly.
@@GiovaniUrrutia well I think it would be highly unlikely to need this saddle after a proper bike fit.
i sat on one of these today in a shop after seeing this review .
it was like sitting on concrete 🤷♂️. i had a sore ass for the next hour after sitting on it for 30 seconds
i cannot understand all the rave reviews for this thing
The price makes hope the terrorists win. Ridiculous.
1:50 in... this is not a review, but an ad read.
Incorrect. We share and present the tech and features so viewers can be informed about it before sharing our input and opinions. Pretty standard order of operations.
Too EXPENSIVE, imo.
what a joke saddle
The saddle's no the joke...the price tag however could be open to interpretation.
@@TheLoamWolf well the price tag is linked to the saddle witch is a powerful joke
Disgustlingly greedy price point for a butt-ugly saddle .
Specialized? More like most overpriced...
but it is very special
