I used to own the power elaston saddle with hollow ti rails but when I changed bike, I decided to give the power mirror a shot. The back end where your sit bones are placed, is cushier but the HUGE difference is in the front end. The front end is so comfortable so when you go into that tucked aero position where your family jewels can get squished, you don’t feel it on this saddle. Absolutely amazed with this stuff! I feel the price is justifiable if you have the extra cash. Definitely much better than an ospw (TANGIBLE benefits)
$325 is not affordable. They could put some high quality aluminum rails that would really bring the price down.
$325 is nothing for some people. Specialized is a premium brand.
@@pierrec8563 Premium HAHAHAHA 🤣made in China....
@@marcinstyle85 Yes, made in China (by poor workers) and sold to rich people at a premium price. Specilaized is very clever 🥇
But titanium 😅
@@marcinstyle85 what planet are you from? Most high end best bikes as well as many other products are made in China or other parts of Asia. Get with the times oldie
Having the ti rails allows for bottle mounts to be bolted on if you're of the triathlete or long distance club tt persuasion.
very nice makes it work for every one
I'm with you id definitely consider the saddle at 275. 325 is still a steep priority tag, id even go as far as having a cheaper rail or plastic body and be even cheaper.
Glad I found this video. Power Expert with Mirror just released last month at $200. I think that will be a great buy.
Yes sir!!!
I have the power comp 143mm with level 2 padding and it cost $140. I wanted to get that saddle you just reviewed but it was a sticker shock for me. Right now I can't ride. I have saddle sores and swelling of the soft tissue caused by crash luckily I did't hit the pavement but the nose of the old saddle slammed into the soft tissue of the perineum. Talk about pain! I tried the power comp saddle out by placing my bike on the trainer. I put on my bib shorts, shammy butter and what difference. I think it would be more comfortable once I'm completely healed. So let's see if I go for the mirror pro but again the sticker of $325 on my budget is a bit much. But again I'm going to test the power comp and see it how it feels once I'm healed. I want to keep the family jewels safe, comfortable and pain free, lol. I'll let you know how it goes.
Aluminium rails could make that a little more affordable but I'd still go with the Ryder saddle that is exactly the same as the power comp version.
I have the old full carbon one and honestly it's not better than the Pro Stealth Superlight saddle I replaced. I actually find it slightly less comfortable, and its heavier. Still great though, it's just not the best saddle I have, the Pro Stealth is still king for me.
Whats even worse is in Europe, the saddle is 370. the Sworks is 450. I really think they did not price it appropriately. We have many requests for the sworks mirror but price was not that often much of an issue. What is an issue is lead times. Two customers called me already already to swap their order from a sworks to a pro with mimic. The sworks were ordered in August and got delayed, currently showing June as shipping date while the pro is available on stock.
Actually the pricing is deliberate.
They want you to just buy the Sworks version.
By the way the power mirror saddle and the power comp are the same weight in 143mm size but the major difference is price, besides the material.
my first road bike that i bought 4yrs ago literally costed less than this
hahahaha
The best thing about it, it’s that the rails won’t break anymore 🤣
My buddy is a Spz dealer here in my city, he told me that the carbon rails of Power mirror sworks usually break, specially with MTB. His brother, who also owns the store, had his saddle rails broke in the first time that he use on MTB and a few more costumers had the same issue (either road or MTB).
Btw Spz won’t accept warranty, because of “bad use”.
This sucks, because here in Brazil the saddle cost a unbelievable 790 dollars (with the conversion and taxes).
Besides that, I know a bunch of people who had the same issue here in Brazil.
Cheers bro
Specialized replaced already 3 of the Sworks Mirror sattle , because the rails broke
@@wilfriedschadenboeck7376 good to hear that they are replacing the saddles man, here in Brazil warranty it’s horrible, regardless the brand. 😕😕😕
yes this is the best, I ahted it when specialized stocked there high end mountian bikes with carbon rails, makes no sense it would break a lot
@@GCPerformance18 I took advantage of the Speclized Sale and got the Power Mirror Pro for $242.
Hi,
I recall you saying you ride the S Works power mirror saddle and you had comfort issues to start but after around 5 rides it was fine.
I have one and after my first ride only around 30 miles I was getting sit bone pain.
I'm hoping things will improve with more rides so I just want to ask if this was what you were experiencing sit bone pain to start with?
Thanks.
yea I didnt have sitbone pain it was more just rubbing pain, but it got a lot better, but sitbone pain can happen for suure when switching saddles, but give it a couple of rides
I was hurting looking at brakes for the diverge e5 base! Then I see people looking at saddles for the same price😂 next brakes for the gravel then dropper post for the mtb. Slowly but surely!
Just got this for$240ish after tax during labor day weekend. Excited to see what the hubbub is all about
Any feedback after using it?
@@FisherFAST much better than my original power that came with my bike. That being said, the saddle type may not be for my geometry so looking to try a Selle Italia SLR boost (S3).. I got big thunder thighs is the problem it seems like lol
I’m on a Power Arc Expert. Is the mirror worth another $120? 😅 for the same weight?
Still a lot of money for a saddle😫
yes it is, we can all agree, this is for someone with deep pockets
do these have round rails underneath the saddle or do you need a specialized seat post to mount.
They are round rails.
Question is-how much better is this one than the Power Arc Elaston and does the difference in comfort justify 370 euros expense.
I am very tempted, not gonna lie :)
How are these with narrow sit bones in a semi aero position? 120mm wide? Only for wider sit bones?
@samurailoodon I run the 143 and would like to see a 120-130 ideally, as my sit bones are around 110, but it’s still the most comfortable saddle I own. The padded area is wide (or rather, narrow) enough and it drops away quite sharply at the sides
I am using a power arc pro elaston saddle, do you think it will be a huge difference from this 3D saddle ? 🤔
saddles are weird I would say once u find a nice saddle keep it going
Waiting for the Romin saddle version.
you doing Nabono's Time review soon? I see he's got a big "GC Perf" decal on the new whip :)
Man just picked up SWorks Power Regular
The problem is at that weight they're competing against $20 gel saddles.
Seriously someone is going to have to explain why these super heavy saddles that offer lots of squish aren't just a straight 1:1 equivalence with bargain basement gel saddles.
this is not a squish it is a saddle that gives but very firm if that makes sense, it supports on the bones but gives on the soft tissue, where as a soft gel saddle you just sit on like a pile of mud and everything has pressure and causes blood stoppage for numbness and bad for prostate
My 35$ saddle feels better than my 250$ saddles, especially on long rides. And it weighs only 90 grams. I only put on the expensive saddle when I’m spinning with friends to brag about it, but I’m hurting both inside and outside. Is it worth the bragging rights…
🤦🏻♂️
hahahahha
which saddle are you speaking of?
The cycle industry has gone mad !!! When a saddle at £300 is deemed affordable,no offence GC, and people regard £6000 to be a run of the mill bike !! I think the industry will get a wake up call in the next year or two, these prices are just not realistic
no offense here, I am not the one making these, I just let peoiple know about them
@@GCPerformance18 I know you are and appreciate it ❤️
Specialized needs to integrate a rearview camera in the saddle that connects to your smartphone so you can see traffic coming up from behind you. Safety first.
that would be awesome, like a garmin varia light built into the saddle
Would you get the Power Pro Mirror Saddle or the Power Pro Elaston Saddle?
mirror to be honest, it is nice tech I knwo it is expensive but worht it
@@GCPerformance18 thanks for the input! This is why you’re such an awesome content creator. You take time to respond to any question that you can help. Keep up the great work and much appreciated with all of the help.
I srs think that these saddles are cheaper to make than others, but we just are paying for the new tech.
hi gc performance great video as always the difference in weight beetwen both saddles are not that much the cost obviously dont! there is are a big difference in price range as you said do you got the top tier one in the white specialized tarmac sl7 i guess (aka the beast) i name it so i hope that you dont get mad over it and you said the saddle is awesome the diference with the less expensive wich would be in your opinnion in terms of riding confort?.
also sir i see two different measures 143 and 155 mm those measures apply on width as in large or there is a difference there two ( i am sorry these are things that i am start to learn over ciclyng thats the reason i ask over it) also i wanna ask if you follow UCI competitions along the world and if you got a team in the UCI world tour that you like the most thanks in advace sir ( i am sorry i dont dont your name )
Nice budget saddle! Wonder how many watts this adds
What? No one buys a saddle to go faster. They buy a saddle to ride longer 🤦🏻♂️
lmfao
Ugh, it is cheaper than the sworks but still too expensive. I'd jump on it if it were around $250. Guess I'll stick with my Power Arc Expert.
250 is still an expensive saddle. I paid 150 for a ti rail saddle
@@scottf3456 it is but I'm sure the 3d tech they used is worth the extra $$$
Ya know, this tech has already made its way onto aliexpress. Specialized replica it seems, around $120. Might be tempted to add yet another aliexpress component to my bike
Except that’s it’s not safe. A friend bought it, the rail cracked
@@87togabito by contrast i have a cheapo carbon saddle that i initially bought as an experiment, it's still on my bike after 30k miles. It just happens to fit me so it stayed. I'm 74kg if that's relevant, take that as you will but rather than recommend it I'd still say its hit n miss with the likes of alixexpress and chums.
I don't think you're gonna get the same comfort or quality from a $120 saddle that you get from the expensive one.
@@87togabito I bought a S-Works Romin EVO with Mirror saddle, and guess what? The rail cracked! Spending $300-$400 more won't prevent that.
I got the clone 3d saddle off eBay. It's rather firm, but comfortable. I can't change my seat clamps b/c I have a cheap Chinese bike with propietary seat post. I'm using the regular clamps and praying it doesn't crack. I might buy this new specialized saddle. I feel like 250 is where the price should be. I like the titanium rails better, plus you can put it on any bike without having to shell out more money to change the seat post
Soooo I should get this for my gravel bike instead of the $450? I mean same 3d print, diferente carbón fiber And titanium railings sounds way better to me
And cheaper …
yea it would be better and absorb impact better for off road trails
@@GCPerformance18 thanks for being So awesome! Your videos are beyond amazing and informative… bravo Mate
Power arc is a best saddle ever made. Absolutely pure silk!
Making the already heavy saddle heavier.
hahahahhah im fucking dead.... just imagine this is all they put for product description on there sight hahahaha
hmm This is more an option for those who need saddle rail resistance.
I see it as better seatpost compatibility since any seatpost can take 7 mm round rails.
And that too.
yes this makes it better for mountain riders, who want nice things but cant have lol
325 for seat cmon son that is not Affordable more cycling rip offs
You guys in USA live a different world 325$ is not affordable for 90% cycles ....
awesome saddle
it is super nice
@@GCPerformance18 if u have the money definetly lol
Not sure if they are cannibalizing themselves with this price point, everyones preference is almost unique when it comes to saddles.
yea trhis is the truth they can go on and on about the comfort of it but, it all comes down to preference
@@GCPerformance18 im seeing plenty of potential with the graduated densities possible by 3d printing the padding, im also seeing something that looks like it would be a right pain in butt to clean so i wouldn't personally bother with any coloured ones like that white(ish) Fizik one, its Henry Ford all the way.
Another allocation fail by SBC you can buy it online however not available at dealers
trust me, I know I was bummed about this, we didnt even get the option to order these
Just picked up one of these from my LBS yesterday. they had 6-7 of these models in stock in various sizes
I gone keep my saddle s-works power
trueee
affordable & heavy for $325.
hahaha but comfy
143s’ are gone already
really that sucks
Reclaimed Aethos Frames?
damn that would be something lol
@@GCPerformance18 would explain the price...
Bell 🔔 squad
carbon fiber base and rails is pointless just to save a few grams. plastic base and alu rails is good enough.
maybe on day they make a version like this
Make a video on princeton wake 6560 tactic hub please..
I was just about too, I have them in stock it will be coming out in the next couple of days
@@GCPerformance18 nice, thank you. 👍🏻
So I can get it, but you, dealer, can’t?…that’s just wrong!
yes yes lol
My bike is cheaper then that
overpriced as usual!
