I just bought an Arrow 5 in France
To increase the speed you have:
change the original battery to a 4 s battery?
adjust the trim tabs at the rear of the boat?
and change the diameter of the propeller

nice run,i put a recoil 2 prop on mine and took off the trim tabs i run it on 3s 120c discharge and i get 36 mph,i love lower end boats,have a good one buddy
did you keep stock esc??? what is the stock esc? i used to run electric boats many years ago and i agree it best to keep 3s and make all other mods first to get performance...main thing is keep electronics cool... i can't tell you how many boat parts i fried learning...

@@roadstar499 im not sure of the amp,i know it will handle a 3s and it does have reverse,and no its not a 2 in one esc,i upgraded mine for more speed and i dont have the old one any more,im just going by memory,im old so i might not remember everything.lol

Will it still self right with the 4s you used? Also explain the benefit of say 120c vs 50c please. Got mine today and want to order 2 zeee 3s and 2 4s. Definitely need wayyyyyyyy more battery life lol. Glad the stock battery is xt60 since I already have xt60 to traxxas adapters for my xrt and traxxas live id charger!!!!
C rating is supposed to represent voltage drop under load, high c rating means the battery can be discharged at a high current without dropping as much voltage. The problem with c rating is that manufacturers make it up and use it for marketing. Its best to go off of internal resistance or pay attention to the gauge of wire on the battery leads as an indicator of how much current they anticipate it putting out
Mine kicks ass on 4S! 💪💪💪. The ESC clearly says 11.1 volts. How does it handle the extra power?

whats the stock esc??? maybe a hobbywng 80 amp esc would be a good upgrade if you wanted a 40 mph arrow on 4s ... its been over 10years since i ran boats... this was an excellent video explaining and showing how to increase performance...

So this thing runs basically just over half of the 30mph advertised as stock? Also what's the adapter called for the prop? And I just got into rc and have traxxas xrt. I have 6 14.8 volt 4s 9500mah 120c batteries for it. Would they work on this?
Late to seeing this, but for the record 9500 mAh batteries will be wayyy too big and heavy
I have a 13.5 motor (3500kv) and ordered a cooling sleeve-- do you think the stock esc could handle it. By the way my trim tab adjustment gave me 5mph more---29.9mph
On 3s it would really be pushing that esc very hard but it may take it. I don’t find these tiny boats very practical unless they self right.

How you bending them tabs. By hand ? tried that on mine it didn't gain anything or change . I'm curious
Even if you bend them all the way up they still protrude under the hull.

I know you ran 4s with stock electronics but did you try a high discharge battery like 100c???

Upgraded my esc to a 90A dynamite to handle the 4s…(I was told the stock esc would not handle 4s)
Sadly, the boat is much slower with the new esc… the box DID NOT come with instructions and many reviews on the dynamite esc said the same thing (no instructions)
I need to email horizon to see if I can get a manual on the 90A esc..
I am guessing it needs to be programmed or something as the unit has a set button on it..
Any ideas?

No I’d just change the prop and elongate the holes on your trim tabs so they go up higher.
@@gen1power102 I did notice that the edge of tab did stick below the hull even when bent up, I did see your video where you gained some mph by adjusting tabs

What esc were you running?
I’ve used a few different ones on this boat. I believe this one was stock.
Oh wow, the stick esc says it’s only meant for 11.1 volts so I imagine 14+ would blow after a few runs. How long did you run stock esc on 4s??

Love this boat but if it says 30mph stock then you shouldn’t have to upgrade it to hit 30 mph. Seems like a lot of boats lie about the top speed.
