It's all in the head and it's easy to became adrenaline or praise or novelty addict. There were sunsets that felt better than PhD, competitions, awards, huge business deals not to mention dumb thrill seeking stuff I got into when I was young. If given a choice between Nobel Prize, Olympic gold and everything else combined, and extra year of life, I'd take extra year.

Mans’ ability to rationalize irresponsible behavior has no limits. But it sure is fun.

Rollingstones just released their latest albums. Mick and Keith are both eighty. How much more music would Jimmy Hendrix make?

Is this a trick question? Because I have treated young quadriplegics immediately after injury, and they all want to live once they realize that there is help, treatment, and technology.

Pretty sure I'd rather die. Not 100%, but...pretty sure.

@@AUniqueHandleName444 Research tells us that is what most of us say until it happens to us. The will to live is amazingly strong or else nobody would have grandparents.

I love the lens used here that makes them both look more massive than they actually are. Impressive.

'Is quality of life or duration more important?' - The question assumes that one has to choose, but you don't. That's kind of what Peter is all about, so pretty weird for him to ask this.

It depends on the criteria and standards by which you judge quality - the material or idealistic view is in contrast. Seems like the experiential material is more important than the world of ideas.

    I'm brazilian.
I was 10 when Senna crashed
Everyone in the country was watching F1 every race.
It was like a massive religious event.
I obviously didn't understand much how big Senna was and how that was meaningful.
I used to love and watch F1 for years thereafter

Homo sapiens still has the unipolar mentality while the reality is multipolar. The title should be who like quality of life and who like duration. And each is multipolar still - living in primitive

I think this is a bit of pointless discussion. You live until you don’t. At the end of the day, the only thing that is really going to matter to you before you go, is did you live to a moral compass. Did you harm, or were you good. The rest is just a distraction from the fundamental essence of being.

Ask slaughtered Ukranians, Sudanese, Gazans, Israelis, poor Central and South Americans, dead people the world over, how long they would have wanted to live😢. This is such a reeediculous conversation in a land of self gratification…weaving in and out of lanes on a speeding motorcycle…grow up!
