Three things are learnt and 2 are established by this video
      1. Ramanujan was a genius his work on elliptic integrals, hypergeometric series, the functional equations of the zeta function, and his own theory of divergent series proves he is one of the greatest.
      2. You don't know anything about religion can be established by the way you talked about it.
      3. You hold a certain grudge against sanatan established by more than 90% of your videos are criticizing those practices or the people who support those practices. The most ironic thing is that your researching capability on those topics decrease and you portray how those practices are the worst possible things to ever exist on this planet.

Amazing video man one humble request to you if you can also make a video on various religion missionaries who are trying to brainwash people to move from one religion to another thinking that it can solve their problems I have seen many of my friend's families go through the similar process and later on they keep boasting about it and keep spreading false knowledge that any of these religions can make their problems go away.

iemann had aldready found the best approximation for prime numbers till now .The problem is that it is a hypothesis or a conjecture without proof famously called the riemanns hypothesis .having said that the mathematician you are talking about did not prove his prime number formula(or for that matterany of his formulas) the riemanns hypothesis is more or less accepted as true and modern super computers have tested it and not found a contradiction yet though it may be found in the future .riemanns formula works correctly for all computable numbers so i belive you need to correct your statements hardy considered him a genuis because some of his results matched that of euler's and jacobi and not for his resultsregarding primes even though initially he found it interesting later he judged him by works initially done by euler and considered him to be equal to euler

He is ONE of the greatest mathematician who ever lived, of course, but not the greatest. I mean look at the works of Euler, Riemann, Hilbert, von Neumann, Grothendieck and the likes. Ramanujan was a prodigy, no doubt, and he gave world some of the greatest mathematics we have seen. Calling him greatest is disservice to the contribution of other great mathematicians. There are other mathematicians who literally discovered numerous fields of mathematics (Euler discovered Graph Theory, Topology etc). Nothing against Ramanujan, hell I would be glad if I can be as much talented as tiny fraction of Ramanujan.
By the way, great video. Liked the presentation. I didn't find discussion of his religious background necessary for the video but anyway his pure vegetarianism is also a reason for deterioration of his health when he was in London. You are doing a great job.

It depends on who is calling him greatest. When every mathematician in the world has acknowledged his surreal way of instantly coming up with formulas and start math class with lecture about him certainly proves his uniqueness and greatness. You dont need to call him great or compare with others. The world just speaks the truth :). The fact that you and i know EULER means that he is also famous and his contributions are definitely considered. Only people who are jealous and too religious will compare them with others mathematicians and try to set levels of greatness which is not required :) peace

@@manojrenikunta2301 No one is denying his greatness or uniqueness. But calling him the greatest is wrong. And I am neither jealous nor religious. I know the contribution of Ramanujan and other mathematicians and that's why I am saying it. Honestly, even if you had graduate level knowledge of mathematics you would know the difference between the contributions of Ramanujan and let's say Hilbert. Instead, it is you who is being too much attached to Ramanujan's religion and nationality. Tell me honestly, if I had said same thing about non Indian mathematician would you have replied a such? At least go Google about the mathematicians I mentioned. Or search for the few list. See, Ramanujan is one of the greatest and almost no one denies this in mathematical community. He could come up with equations and identities out of thin air, and almost all of those were correct. Few of his claims wrong. Imagine writing something out of nowhere and most certainly it being correct. Every mathematician would dream of such intuition. But his contributions were confined primarily to number theory. I am yet repeating, he is one of the greatest. Now look at the contribution of Gauss and magnitude of his revolutionary ideas. I will not even talk about the contributions of Euler or Hilbert. When you are at that also read about Galois and his contributions.
So next time before jumping to the conclusion kindly at least read what someone is refering to. It is easy to label someone jealous etc but harder to understand why you yourself are being biased. Because you yourself know you wouldn't be defending Ramanujan if he hadn't Indian. Okay for the sake of this argument how will you measure someone’s contributions and which one will you award greatest ? Depends on what criteria you take ? I am not biased at all me being Indian have heard about him and saw in school books but did not know nothing about him until recently. Just an opinion: I recently watched some of your videos on exposing some gurus and religious mythology.I think (or atleast I hope so) your viewers are mostly those people who themselves study science or are interested in it. So, I think they already know it and you don't need to "expose" anything because those who doesn't believe in science will not understand and it's their choice. It's matter of their faith. I expect something more from you ,I want our indian "science" youtubers to actually be like foreign science youtubers like veritasium, alpha phoenix, minute physics etc. because it would really help those people who study science as well as to general audience to develop a scientific temperament .I want you to "expose" the ambiguities in science itself because many ambiguities arise from understanding a single concept from different perspectives like recently veritasium made a video on electricity which I really liked because that was something I really want to get discussed on a large scale. I want you to actually explain what science is and wat it can do because it will directly help general audience (who are interested) to not be completely dependent on "GOD" . Then only people would realise that religion is just a matter of faith and it's good if it motivates you, it's good if you think someone is there watching your struggle when no one is with you, it actually keeps humans away from negative thoughts and if it really doesn't help you , it's also fine. I know you are also not against religion, but still I don't think these videos would really help general audience in realising who really "GOD" or "NATURE" is because most of them think of it as a person.

    "His eyes rose
    to his third eye
    while solving
    a problem.
The genius and capabilities of Ramanujan were such that they could not be due to mental powers, because the intellect moves very slowly, thinking takes time, but Ramanujan didn’t take any time in responding to Hardy’s questions. No sooner was the problem written down on the blackboard or put to him verbally than Ramanujan began to reply, without any time gap for thinking. It was very difficult for great mathematicians to understand how it happened. A problem which would take about six hours for an eminent mathematician to solve - and then too he was not sure about being right - Ramanujan solved instantaneously, unerringly.
It proved that Ramanujan was not replying through the medium of the mind. He was not very learned, he had actually failed in matriculation; there was no other sign of intellectual ability, but in connection with mathematics he was superhuman. Something happened that was beyond the human mind. He died when he was thirty-six because of tuberculosis.
When he was in the hospital, Hardy, along with two or three other mathematician friends, went to see him. As it happened, he parked his car in such a place so that Ramanujan could see its number plate. When Hardy went into Ramanujan’s room, he told Hardy that his number plate was unique: it had four special aspects to it. After that, Ramanujan died. Hardy took six months to understand what Ramanujan meant, but he could only discover three of the four aspects. On his death he left a will that research work on that number should continue, to find out the fourth aspect. Because Ramanujan had said there was a fourth, there had to be. Twenty-two years after Hardy’s death, the fourth was discovered. Ramanujan was right.
Whenever he began to look into any mathematical problem something began to happen in the middle space between his two eyebrows. Both his eyeballs turned upwards, centering on that middle space. In Yoga, that space is described as the third eye spot. It is called the third eye because if that eye becomes activated it is possible to see events and scenes of some different world in their entirety. It is like looking out of your house through a small hole in the door, and suddenly, when the door opens, you see the whole sky. There is a space between the two eyebrows where there is a small aperture that sometimes opens - as in the case of Ramanujan. His eyes rose to his third eye while solving a problem. Neither Hardy could understand this phenomenon nor would other Western mathematicians ever understand it in the future"

    - Appeal to authority fallacy :
Something doesn't automatically become true just because a genius believed in it without any evidence.
    - Either/Or fallacy :
It is believing that there are only 2 possibilities .
For eg. Either god did all the good things or god doesn't exist .
But what about the other hypothetical possibility that these deities are actually evil ?
What if praying to these imaginary deities actually makes them more evil?
What if NOT praying to that godess would have made Ramanujan more genius ? What if actually praying to that godess made him get infected with TB ?
Ofcourse there is no evidence for the above possibilities , blindly believing in any of them would be obviously irrational.
But blindly believing in one of them thats convenient to their superstition, while ignoring the other contradicting and equally non-evident possibilities is confirmation bias .

You dont need to prove if someones belief something is right or wrong. Only people with colonial mindset and invaders who came to india try to do that. The fact that fools and anti-nationals try this proving right wrong business just to feel happy to be part of majority religion in world :). Believing in god is so much beautiful thing but enforcing ones god and beliefs on others and trying to prove others god as false is not a practice in hindutva. So just let india live in its own beliefs, practices and gods isnt it? Who cares about your theories about confirmation bias and either or fallacies? No one! Ramanujam is just one example which unfortunately came into lime light other wise we have seen and heard many many stories of such supernatural happenings! In fact the whole knowledge of Indian ancient texts was given or written by people who have meditated (saints and rishis).

Its amazing that you put your biases into your videos while talki g about peoples religious bias 😂
You say that scientists, who believed their religious beliefs had a role to play in their achievements were wrong but atheists were absilutely right :)
Im not trying to argue if these people were gifted by god or not. My point is your opinion is biased and as such not dependable. You mentioned a few scientists who attributed their work to god and said it was just their intuition and bias but then you go on to add the athiest scientists and making the argument that they were right. Where is your proof my dear science is dope?

Suggestion - make more videos about science history, get out of this atheist niche coz I feel you can do much better in this niche. I also feel that atheist content doesn't has that much viewers in India and all the hate you receive is not worth it at the end of the day people are still gonna believe what they have been believing.

There is nothing wrong in having an atheist niche.
Do you know what would happen otherwise?
The religious people would go on appropriating more and more of the things invented and discovered by means of the scientific method. The religious would be even more vehement in their unfounded claims all these inventions and discoveries made by the scientific method are due to the "blessings of god".

The formula you have labelled as Ramanujan's formula (of the prime counting function) was already predicted by Gauss and proved by other mathematicians. I guess Ramanujan gave a slightly different formula. Please check it once. In his letter Ramanujan doesn't claim to have found an exact formula as well. However, there was still a mistake in his approximate identity.
Also the names of mathematicians Bernard Riemann and Bertrand Russell are misspelt (See 8:01 and 10:01).
