Indian history, or what we have been taught by way of history in India, has many strange
paradoxes that are hard to explain to rational, inquiring minds. At the root of these paradoxes is the Colonial Ideological Offensive, imposed by British historians steeped in Biblical tradition. These historians simply could not come to terms with an established chronology in India that pointed to far greater antiquity than their ecclesiastical mnemonic of the destruction of the world in 3000 BC during Noah’s Flood allowed them to believe.
That the men delegated by the East India Company to write India’s history came with a bias into the discourse and introduced distortions to force-fit their Biblical canons is a fact many Indians are waking up to at long last. What a majority of Indians are still not aware of, however, is that the enterprise of distortion of Indian history continues unabated in Western Academia as they strive hard to find newer paradigms to uphold the debunked Aryan Invasion/Migration Theory or AIT/AMT.
In this Srijan Talk, Dr. Raj Vedam examines the claims supporting the Aryan Invasion/Migration Theory and explains how new-found evidence does not support the AIT/AMT hypothesis. Respectable disciplines like Archaeology, Genetics, and Archaeo-Genetics have thrown up artifacts and evidence that point to precision-oriented human activity in different parts of India tens of thousand of years ago, and in some cases hundreds of thousand years ago. Additionally, the broad consensus among scholars points to the R1a genome having originated in India and not in Central Asia. There is no evidence to support the Aryan Invasion Theory, although there is evidence to support the Out of India theory.
In addition to expounding on a series of multi-disciplinary evidence that disproves the Aryan Invasion/Migration Theory, Dr. Vedam also makes a case for taking into consideration internal, indigenous Indic references that have been ignored so far. There is a vast body of internal pieces of evidence within Indian Literary Texts and Indian Knowledge Systems like the Vedas, Puranas and Itihasas that cite Migratory, Astronomical, Environmental, Engineering and Knowledge-Transfer related references among others which prove, quite categorically, that India is a very ancient civilization with a human continuum of very great antiquity and that Indian thought and knowledge impacted the East as well as the West from ancient times.

In fact, the very reason WHY the Age Of Discovery began in the first place was because the nations of Europe were seeking access to India and its wealth. Dr. Vedam's work has a wider relevance, i.e. not just to India. I hope it stimulates other colonized societies around the world to do the research to understand such cause-and-effect relationships. India's share of the world economy went from 25% in 1700 under Mughals to 4% at the time of independence. Bengal as the largest delta of the world was the most prosperous region of India.
Yes. Periyar community were the temple builders in ancient India. When the British came they took away their skills and right to build temples. Then they created animosity between Brahmins and lower castes which sparked off the aryan Dravidian myth.

I have seen other talks by the same gentleman and have found it to be very powerful. As good as other tales were, this talk is off in many of its assumptions in my view.

If everything was so rosy in 1700ds as claimed here, Why were the British, the French and the Portuguese found so easy to occupy India?
If we were so rich as he claims at that instant of 1700ds, then it wouldn’t have been so easy. To create such a robust and rich economy, people have to work together.
Why were we so fractured as a society, so much so that occupation was a cake walk for the British.
Yeah, Chalikyas May have been extremely able and sailed the seas to foreign lands etc. What happened to that knowledge? When British landed in India, what were the conditions?
It was Brahminical system that systematically denied and plundered their own, hid knowledge to create the downward trend.
All the eye witness accounts starting with Megasthenes, were written around 350 BC, long before 1700 AC.
Indus Valley civilization for example flourished around 1700 BC, again long before this presenters claims.
He himself talks about how his wife’s ancestors weren’t able to give money to the temple. So if the Brahmins were so poor, how were they able to give money and support the system as he claims to be?
Timing is distorted here to support his theory and it’s off.
Indian decline was primarily due to the Brahmins and occurred long never British arrived here. By then the skewed system had already robbed India of its riches and Brahmins were at the heart of it.
Unless we accept facts, true awakening can’t happen. Please note that I don’t have anything against the talks or the presenter.

S & europe are decaying & dying away because they are clueless as to what to do. The answer/solution always comes from the old ways. The only thing I would like to ask is the following: Someplace* I picked up the contention that already in the 17th century there was a quite widespread poverty in India due to the increasing stratification of the classes and that the majority had to work for the benefit and sumptuous life of the rich, who in turn became wealthier and wealthier. The next step was that the English could take over the whole country with ease and further aggravated the situation. Is that so in your opinion?
And furthermore I do believe that in the world today we are witnessing that same inauspicious process! What is your stance on that?

Michael Wood is not a reliable source. He is a film maker who relied on off-the-shelf history texts to make his documentary. Dr. Vedam is bringing together so many facts that discredit the textbook assertions. See the works he quotes in this talk. Three different researchers have the same opinion about the India of 1700-1947. I believe the last figure he quoted was $45 trillion looted by the British alone, after 1750.
Why don't you pay a tax of more than 56% of your annual earnings (without getting any benefits) and see whether you live in poverty or not!
Your observation of ENGLISH could take over the whole country with ease was very appropriate. However, today's India is massively nationalist and patriotic and vastly different from what it used to be during the British.
