Thorn Ericsson "Astrofon" Telephone (1988)

Demonstration of the incoming call ringer bell of this beige plastic Astrofon-type telephone dating from 1988. The Astrofon was also known as the Ericsson Diavox in Sweden, though this example was made in Scunthorpe, UK. The casing carries Derbyshire County Council branding, including the 1980s' slogan "Supports Nuclear-Free Zones". On the underside of the case, a slider allows the bell ringing volume to be controlled.
