    Kent! You helped me a couple years ago by providing a quality and tested assembly for my 190e, I would have up a rather unpleasant creek without you, Thank you!

    I would totally LOVE to have that job just to test those locks back and forth. I'm so in love with keys and locks it's silly😍. Im 32 years old and have been collecting keys my whole life and I still "play" with them🤣

    What do you recommend for a 95 w140, the key turns but dosent crank, there is a push start wired to it that works. How can I remove the push start and start the car with the key. Both keyes are in good condition

    I have a 300TD and 300D, 1987. Now I do not see anything for the w124 pre 1990. Would the w126 be the same thing or is that a different beast?

      This happens a lot because parts suppliers are not aware of the problems with these old steering locks. Tumblers with keys are no longer available e for your 450SL so they sent you the wrong part. Our solution is to take a brand new steering lock and custom machine it to fit a tumbler that is available. I'll be doing this on my w124 e420. The lock on my w210 e55 AMG is failing . Parts for the ESL are shockingly higher than the mechanical locks and less reliable

    Hey ken I just recently purchased a 1983 sd300 an had to change the light switch now all the lights work but the passenger rear running light the light bulb is good an the fuse isn’t blown I’m stumped could it be the socket for that bulb

    • @Mercedessource
      @Mercedessource  Před 2 lety

      Using a test light or volt meter check to see if you have voltage the the light socket with the switch on. If you do then suspect bad contact in the light bulb socket. If no voltage suspect a broken wire in the trunk. Yes, I have seen that before.

    My 84 300D has lost it's shut-off capacity. I've found if I open the door as I turn it off it rumbles and shakes to a stop - does this damage the engine?

    It's tricky

  • @xsiaze
    @xsiaze Před 2 lety

    do you really disassemble the lock assembly? I thought thats not possible, if it was, almost impossible to put back together?

    • @Mercedessource
      @Mercedessource  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, we do and it is a little tricky. That is why we do it in our shop. The special grease is absolutely essential for smooth operation and long life. You can not believe the amount of wear we see inside these locks and it is totally unrelated to the wear in the tumblers. We also tube the tumblers when we put everything back together.

      @@Mercedessource yep, I know, few months ago I;ve installed new lock assembly on my w123 and I lube it very very well but without to disassemble it. I was worried about this clicking sound as well..

      Devi diventare il tuo insegnante. Fai la tua ricerca. Usa Google per saperne di più sul dispositivo antifurto della tua Mercedes. Ci sono molte informazioni su Internet e su youtube se scavi a fondo.
