I would like to thank you for taking the time to record this video. I was able to fix my problem. You saved me a lot of money and a trip to the dealer. I am sure the car dealer would have told me to buy a new ignition system and charge me $500-$1000. God bless you and your family. The world needs more unselfish and kind people like you.
Thank God you uploaded this and saved me almost $300 , i was moving wheel steering back and forth left and right but nothing happened, even my mechanic tried for few minute then he said , " i can do it but i am busy and it needs lot of time , so i brought the car back and searched on google several videos but could not find the way but your was so comprehensive and steps were so easy to follow, even my daughter got the problem solved in less than 5 minutes, just following and watching the instructions in your video. Yes the problem was cylinder stuck............Now it is moving very smoothly.........................God bless you my friend
Thank you for this video , having a similar problem except key won’t turn in a 2007 MDX , it’s not the key ,since I have backups ,could be the ignition cylinder is worn out, but I want to take a look at it myself before I bring it to my mechanic , The only thing that seems like a pain is the taking the plastic of the steering column , I’ll just go slow , great precise video thanks , subscribed 👍
Thank you for helping me find that solenoid, it turned out to be the problem. To further my circumstance however, upon further investigation I found that the spring that is supposed to pull that locking mechanism back out broke in the middle. So I just have to manually operate the plunger to get the key out. Thank you again, without this video I likely wouldn't have found it. This worked on my 2004 Accord.
After watching your video I concluded or surmised that a solenoid was not releasing. I disconnected the battery to cut the power to the solenoid, , I wiggled the key a bit and within seconds it slid out. Thanks! Prior to that, I had used pliers, wiggled, rattled, turned the wheel back and forth, etc, with no luck.
Omgggggg you just saved me alit if moneyyyyy!!!!! We were going crazy my husband just did this and the key came out thank you so muchhhh for posting God bless
looking to solve the same problem i found this video Thanks so much for sharing , what i m doing now is disconecting the battery and romoving the key , have a 08 rdx tanks again .
Omg my key got stuck on Acura Tsx , I watch your video and when I see you open around the steering wheel I wanted to do the same but what I did is I pull that handle to adjust the steering wheel up and down and I tried to turn off the car and it works damn this is another trick somebody should try it might help y'all just like it helped me.. to was so happy when I was able to take off my key.. Just try to pull that steering wheel adjustment handle it might work for u as well .. just pull up and down few times. I will work trust me.
This comment is 100% right. This happened about 2 months ago to my 09 mdx. I turned it off not I'm park or some crap like that. My D light started blinking and my transmission light came on as well. After hrs of internet, discovered you push down + hold it down on the adjuster on the column and boom, the key released. Weeks later here I am again. Couldn't remember how I solved that. Thanx, I'm glad I read the comments on these videos.
@@MickhaelGodson My dad in the above comment was able to fix my car with your video - Thank you so much for taking the time to post this which saved me lots of $$$ and time, and stress. I love that you gave God the credit for figuring this out, after all He gave you the smarts to investigate and figure it out. This was an answer to my prayers - Thank you for being a tool that God used to help us and many others with the same problem. All the shops wanted to replace the whole ingnition unit which has been on backorder for over a year and they had found one in the USA but it would have cost me almost $700 with the install - yikes!
@JulieKrebs Wao ! We can never stop saying Thank you Lord. He is concerned about all that concerns us. I am so glad this helped! Thank you for the time you took to give this feedback. God bless you !
Sila, thank you so much for showing people how to fix this annoying issue! I was able to pull my key out by following exactly what you did. However, the problem is still persistent when I turned on the engine. I had to use my finger to move the metal locking piece to the left every time, even after I shot WD-40 into it. Do you know what else I could do before replacing the whole ignition unit?

Have a similar problem but in my case the key won’t turn over , won’t turn to the on position
God bless you
My Acura is having that problem now.
Did u get it fix
I hope everyone realizes that IF this works at all, it’s only a temporary fix
Thanks you sir
Problem solved!!!
You just save me also 500$!! Lol 👍🏽
I did it but how did u actually fix it from doing it again
Lubricating the whole area to make sure all is smooth and moves freely 😁👍
I have an 04 TSX wonder if it’s the same
Give it a try, since it's the same brand...
This was great
I had same problem there is a small connect there that runs from the ignition to that ejector if u disconnect it u won’t have that issue
I’m guessing the car would not start unless u plug it bk in ?
Sir my key wont go in fully do you know why it could be ?
Yes
Right around 3:00 is where he shuts up and actually shows you what's wrong with it.
