Wow! Are you trying to launch the pistons through the cylinder walls ! I would never rev up a brand new unbroken in engine in such a way. Other than that, a nice job on the rebuild.
Checked out some myth or not video about breaking in an engine, they took 2 engines reved one like crazy and gently broke the other in. Tore them down and sent out some oil samples to check levels of different metals both were exactly the same. As long as it wasn’t run dry with no oil or no assembly lube it’d be fine.
@@jonathanbrown1120 Well . It's still very good idea to break engine in , mainly because of ring and their fitting ,but i somehow agree with your theory , main thing that you don't want to happen is overheating the engine . That can cause serious damage , especially if there are new pistons
I’ve always been part of the “run it how it’s gonna be run” when breaking in, of course I work my way to it. Still would make me nervous redlining one on start up
Think about once an engine is started. Hundreds of revolutions in only a minute. As long as there is adequate oil and grease where it needs to be, It would be fine. If you are gently running the engine in case something goes wrong, well at that point if something failed while an engine is running it’s too late to save. Dropped valve, broken rod or rings. If you hear something not right and the engine was running you have already caused irreversible damage. That being any noise that a regular service could not fix like timing chain tightened, valve noise from clearance not within spec.
parece que sabe mas nem tanto, o cara mistura cola e junta, bate com martelo de metal e chave de fenda em peça boa, mal fecha o motor e já acelera no talo. esse aí n fica na mão nunca mas tbm nada que ele faz vai durar muito tempo
I suspect that the saving grace here is that the piston speed isn't high on these small cylinders, a feature that helped Honda have decent reliability with their super high rpm engines of back in the '60s. A bigger bore, longer stroke cylinder engine develops much greater stress on the rings and piston and calls for a more gradual break-in process to give good longevity. Still, I see so many these days abusing engines because it's somehow "cool" and manly to do (like running an engine up to the rev limiter and holding it there with no load) and it's not encouraging to see in any way.
