It would be interesting to see you do an update on this now. With all the changes twitch has recently made.

I'm pretty sure twitch changed there payment threshold to 50 dollars. If you able to make it to 50 you can get your payout for that month I'm sure it isn't 100 anymore.

You’re 100% right, I amended it in the video with text whenever I mentioned the $100 threshold because it’s now $50 all round I believe! 😊

There are no quality streams on Twitch that aren't at least affiliates. People who are there are used to that tradeoff.. and many people just block their ads. Yes its hard with them, but it is doable and frequently is. Also most people use a 'starting soon' screen at the start of their stream once they get started. Its the perfect time to run a 90 second stream of ads which can be done. Most often you'll be done with ads before the Twitch notification and other bots have even sent out notifications that you're live, and you've killed off pre-rolls for the hour (not just 10 minutes when you do a large block).
Bits is absolutely what it looks like because you keep all the income from bits. Twitch takes its cut at purchase time not after you receive them like they do with subs. There is also tip/dono options which people use to send money directly to you where 80-95% of your donation gets to you (depending on the service you use.)
...and if Twitch uses your stream parts for their advertisement via the agreement.. THEY:RE ADVERTISING YOU TOO! All the while most people stream and then throw away that content. If you're to get some free advertisement out of it from Twitch thats by the #s more use than you would have ever put it to, and directly benefits you too.

it's not hard to get out of affiliate. you just have to answer some questions then they'll remove it. I was affiliate but don't think it's worth it. 50% is not a good deal, might as well tell your peeps to sign up monthly thru other means like buy me a coffee, etc. so you get most of the donations. just my opinion. decide how you want to get paid with your precious time :)
