Paul Reubens battling Cancer and still absolutely killing it. I love how he threw in a Pee Wee laugh too. Weird Al and Danny Elfman also killing it and all three having transcendent amounts of fun here. And Weird Al's jacket, jesus!

Al has spent a lot more time performing live on stage than either Paul or Danny. You get good at what you do a lot of.
@@oenthusiast He acted in a live-action movie too, as the main character, and also his own television series, and a number of cartoon cameos and the main role in the cartoon Milo Murphy’s Law. Paul Reubens acted in the Pee Wee movies and the Pee Wee show, I don’t know about his other roles. Danny only ever had a minor singing role in his brother’s movie, and a couple of singing roles in stop-motion movies. Oh and the Danny & Buddy Show which is a series of shorts that he makes on his own to show on his social media accounts. If he hadn’t quit Oingo Boingo he would have more stage performing experience than Al by now.
@@oenthusiast I believe Danny has the longer career on stage, performing with oingo bingo 45 years. Not to take anything from AL, who is fantastic on stage. Seen him 4 or 5 times and he never disappoints
@@diamondtim It's very true that Danny STARTED performing onstage before Al did. But Oingo Boingo basically retired as a regularly working band in 1995, and there were interrruptions and hiatuses for various reasons before that, especially to accommodate Danny Elfman's amazing film music career. Weird Al has been touring steadily since 1983; he's got at least 1500 live shows under his belt by now. That much live concert experience, especially for a perfectionist like Al, is going to result in an amazing performer. Danny Elfman is very very good, but he's been putting a lot more effort into composing in the later part of his career, and that's where I think he really shines.
I love Weird Al. But it's unreal how he still looks like he's still in his 30's. He's barely aged in 30 years. Reubens and Elfman are pushing 70 and look 20 years younger as well.
Weird Al, Danny Elfman, Paul Ruebens .. three of the great LA counter culture artists form the 70s and 80s performing in front of an orchestra. My dreams come true.

@@emmamy1106 yeah, long time ago he went to a adult movie theatre, were you can take care of that biz. Media got a hold of it and it stopped his career. Sad because it was an appropriate place to do so and he dint harass anyone. At that time is was like moral orel, and adults lost their minds.
Al graduated a couple years behind me at Lynwood High School in Southern California. When I saw this I thought, man he has grey hair. Then I realized after 52 years, what I do have left is grey. 😄

If I could post a picture I would show you his Lynwood High School graduation picture. He was a straight-A student, attended kindergarten earlier than was usual, did so well in kindergarten and 1st grade that he was allowed to skip 2nd grade. He graduated 2 years earlier than his fellow students and was the Valedictorian at only 16. Smart guy.
He would play his accordion and sing in the boy's bathroom because the acoustics were so good. We got a preview of the star in the making.

Nothing reminds you how old you're getting, as seeing the TV/film actors and musical talents from your childhood getting older.
I feel the same way when I look up pictures of Ron Perlman and Tim curry
So many of this cast could have just said "I have better things to do than come back and sing this silly music year after year" and yet, they all (for the most part) seem to come back year after year! And on top of that, you can tell by their expressions how much they love doing it! It makes me cautiously hopeful that they may still one day do a sequel (with most of the cast returning).
The game of it and the games of kingdom hearts have the sequels..
I totally get the sentiment, but i think they should leave it be. If it aint broke....
Especially note worthy is the fact that Paul Reubens, dealing with terminal cancer that this time, chose to still perform. That takes such courage, strength and love for the fans and his fellow performers and he showed a greater amount of love by keeping is condition a secret. All involved could enjoy the performance. Very kind of him.
Al is a big Oingo Boingo fan, on his fifth album he did a homage to them called You Make Me, it particularly feels like a Nothing to Fear era track.

I would love to see a live musical starring Danny Elfman. His facial expressions are amazing, not to mention his voice!
I don't think he likes musical theatre, but if its his maybe he would do it. I think he could do it He's got the talent and stage presence to be on broadway.
You should see the movie, The Forbidden Zone, if you haven't yet. It's live action, utterly ridiculous and Danny Elfman plays the devil.

We saw this show at the Hollywood Bowl a few years back. They did this as an encore with all the originals (Reubens Ohara and Elfman) plus Elfman played Dead Man's Party for the first time in decades!
I feel like they had so much fun singing this.

Not only was it entertaining and a good performance, but seeing all three being so into it fills you with joy. Happy I found this video. And my god, no glasses and longer hair makes Danny Elfman look so much younger.

Nightmare Before Christmas is a perfect movie can be watched twice a year as a holiday movie. Very few movies can make this claim.

He's released some very VERY interesting harder renditions of Old Oingo Boingo songs and also has some industrial stuff... One song he remixed with Trent Reznor... It's very much worth checking out... Let alone the very artistic music vids.
He's very much re-ignited the Theatre born Rockstar from the Knights of the Oingo Boingo.
He's lost weight, that's for sure.
