My daughter and grandkids love it. We all enjoy playing together
Pretty cool!
Yeah I could see this game being fun with family

The GBA game was a sequel to donkey kong 94 on original gameboy, which itself was a sequel/reimaging of the original donkey kong. The history of this game is important as it's really the truest sequel to the beginning of mario we have - and the originals brought a lot of really interesting platforming that carried into mario proper years later! It's also worth noting that this remake does add new levels. So it's not a pure remake, either.
50 is a lot and I have a lot of criticism for nintendo but I really love the weird end of life remake old random games thing nintendo does at systems running out of time.
I’ve long pondered why Nintendo continues to ignore DK ‘94-it’s not even on the Nintendo on-line subscription service.
The problem, I think, is with DK Jr. The character is in a sort of existential limbo that the company itself doesn’t know what to do about. So he’s been buried…along with the game. True shame.
And still........No Mill....
@@pacario9625 I want a *_Donkey Kong Jr._* remake (the *_*arcade*_*_ _*_video game_* - *_*NOT*_* the video game character), myself! (Donkey Kong remakes have been done multiple times, already there; so...)
I got it for 30
@@pacario9625 I mean, we know DK Jr. is the generation between current DK and Cranky Kong (original DK). Why can't they just call him DK Jr. and yet make him middle-aged?
This is a very special game to me. It was my FIRST game I owned. I got my GBA SP and this game as an early 6th birthday gift. I wouldn’t be the gamer I am today without it. I played the demo and was immediately Ratatouilled back to being a 1st grader on a road trip again. However, it is very tough to want to go spend the full price on it. I absolutely will get it eventually, just not sure when I’ll go for it.
🤨 You can't afford $50?
You speak out of my soul. This game and a gba sp mario edition
also was my first own game that i got on christmas when i was 4. Its very special to me too ❤
I got it for 50$ and Im not hurting man just love the game. I will also mention I got the last physical copy at Walmart and I don't see a lot of reprints coming with this whole to expensive additude you all seem to have. 😒 Enjoy your digital copy that gets marked down to 40$!
Classic Mode should have included falling deaths and the Score system, those were NOT meaningless/outdated aspects of the original, they very much served a purpose. Casual mode of course doesn't need them and shouldn't have the falling deaths, but Classic Mode should be what its name claims it is, the original Classic experience but with the new visuals.
I've seen some people respond to this and say "Why can't we just have chill casual games, why do games have to be hard?" but that mentality makes no sense here because there is literally the Casual mode right there at the start of the game as an option. That mentality is "I want chill easy games, therefore others shouldn't be allowed to have a harder option; easy mode existing isn't enough for me, I need Hard Mode to be chill and easy too" which is stupid. And in this case it's not even asking for some super hard mode, it's just simply asking for the same exact experience as the original as an option for the mode that claims to be the classic experience, that seems like a perfectly reasonable expectation to me.
That was more or less my issue with Mario Wonder. They made the default difficulty lower than that of other 2D Mario games. They treat newer gamers like they're idiots who are incapable of beating games with difficulty to them. After a certain point the "accessibility" just becomes disrespectful with how much they lower the bar every time.
@@smpiano6605 That was a problem for me with Mario Odyssey actually, so many of the moons have absolutely nothing to them and are just "walk up to this spot and grab it" or "talk to this character and grab it" and it made most of the game's content get rather boring and unengaging for me. It made Mario Galaxy feel like a hard game in comparison and Galaxy was known for being one of the easier ones. I personally think Galaxy was a good difficulty balance and going even easier than that starts to be a problem, and well child me who had only played Wii Sports had no problem getting into Galaxy so it wasn't inaccessible. Sure, I sucked at first, but that's part of the learning curve, as long as it doesn't make you wanna quit it should push you so you actually get better over time. And if the game is still too hard for a new gamer, just have an easy mode option which...guess what, every recent Mario game has already been including, so why has the non-easy mode gotten so easy too? Keep it medium.
@@smpiano6605not everyone likes difficult games and I’m glad Nintendo takes that into account, I can’t even play most of the old games anymore as they’re too difficult now and don’t have the reflexes I used to.
Ohhhh I thought I was misremembering things. I was being extra careful, then fell and didn’t die. I was like ….I’m sure that used to kill you?
This has been driving me nuts with Nintendo for a while now; they’re great at making all these easy mode/accessibility options but refuse to make challenging games. Having all these easier options should free up the level design to actually be harder as a default. People always talk about the importance of difficulty options for people on the lower skill level, but they’re equally important for people with higher skill levels too for the game to be enjoyable.
“It came out in 2004. So I was 2 years old…”
God, I felt so old when I heard that.
Think yourself lucky - I was 20 in 2004!
I’m guessing you are 22 now? Enjoy your 20’s. They fly by.
@@youtuber6193 I repeated what he said in the video. He was 2 when it came out. Not me. I better put the first sentence in quotation marks.
Yeah this came out when I was 8 turning 9 that year so luckily I got it when it came out I just don't remember exactly when but it was so much fun as of now I'm 28 those 20s do fly by quick :( I don't wanna be 30 and older yet xD
I was 20 💀
I was born 2004 💀
One thing the remake takes out is a bunch of Martinet’s charming dialogue. I’d say if there’s a reason to go back to the original, it’s definitely for that.
“Ah that Charles Martinet… nice Italian boy”.
"Hey! Come back here, you big monkey!"
@@legoboy7107I was so hurt when I finished it and Mario only repeatedly said "Hey! Come back!"
“Monkey man! Ihihihih!!”
its offensive
This would've been a FANTASTIC $25 eShop title from Nintendo.
I wouldn't have a problem with it if it were $30.
Nintendo really shouldn't be afraid to sell smaller budget titles - I'd love to see lots of Nintendo's handheld or older titles remade, so much potential there. But they need to price them accordingly. $10 drop is not enough.
It will be $30 with a good deal.
As low as it ever gets probably.
Honestly, should've launched at $30 and then with good deals go down to $15 or so.
I was looking forward to this, but I'm not willing to pay €30 for a way overpriced remake on a deal (but I would've been willing to spend €30 if that was full price. It's not a matter of money, but of principle to me).
Yeah that’s insane this is at $60
@@StewNWT It's $50. Still insane, though!
30 is a bit low especially since they are remaking this from scratch it really should be 40 or 50
Maybe not for you, but the $10 drop or £10 drop for me in the UK is enough I wish people would stop bitching about the price. It’s the standard for most modern games and I think Nintendo making it as cheap as it is is only a good thing, enjoy the game not worry about the price.
It’s not 1 to 1 without falling deaths. That was part of the puzzle and key to making these (roughly) single screen levels interesting.
Your choice between “classic” and “casual” style is actually between Easy and Easier mode. Not to mention the scoring system is gone- which actually meant something unlike in its predecessor DK ‘94.
Even with a few more levels, there’s less game here.
In the original, you had to fall a really far distance for it to kill you, and it otherwise just stunned you. I found it more of an annoyance than anything.
I didn’t care for the scoring system in the original game, either. I am not a score chaser, I just like collecting all the presents. As a result I never unlocked the expert levels, so being able to actually play them this time is a plus for me.
Uh, what about the people who do care about the scoring system? They don't matter? Bold to assume your opinion matters lol
@@Dethraxx Turns out they replaced the scoring system with a new time attack mode, which unlocks after the first final boss, so there ya go.
I love this series so I'm a little biased. Still think the score system removal is a little weird though...
Having never played the original I’ve definitely become a fan since playing the demo and now playing the full version which came in the mail direct from the Nintendo the day before it released.
The WAT removal?! But that's the whole point of the game!
What the fuck?!
Typical Nintendo, they remake games and remove features
Idc what anyone says I’m having a great time with this title. This is my all time favorite GBA title so having it with this amount of polish and on the Switch is great. Idk if I would pay 50 for it, but 40 would be a good price. Thankful for my gf who got this for me for Valentine’s Day!
I loved how playing 94 on the super gameboy on the snes given you an actual sound clip of "help" at the beginning of the level
imagine if this WAS a fighting game that included characters from the super mario and donkey kong country series’
Its just one of those games i wish either had more to it, or they sold it for £20. Its a perfectly good remake. But you can get so many better games for this same price. I really think Nintendo needs to re evaluate their pricing already. Selling every game for the same price is just weird to me. And i dont think the mario name is going to be enough to carry this one.
This and mario odyssey are the same price, remember that
They literally aren't this game is 50$ not full price
eh close enough. £45 compared to £50 is not a big difference. and you know any other developer wouldve sold this game for £15 on the eshop at most. point still stands
@@Whispernyan
@@st1734Yes absolutely but that's just the state we're in these days. Even selling games at this barely lower price is the opposite of charitable they only began doing this when they brought back Game Vouchers which makes these $50 dollars games not worth picking up with a voucher and instead either you have to buy them separately on their own or you do waste a voucher on them and they make more money off it.
I love how this game takes cues from Mario 2 which I usually feel gets neglected and ignored in canon a lot of the time.
Has anyone mentioned the Voice Work, have Nintendo reused the Charles Martinet original or re-recorded Mario. Just interested how they are handling historic content moving forward.
This is reused Charles Martinet voice lines, but the interesting thing is it doesn't seem to mostly be the voice lines from the original game, it's largely other Martinet voice clips from other games, like 3D World, Mario Kart, Odyssey, etc. Maybe they don't have the uncompressed versions of the original game's voice clips?
They could have added more to it to justify its recreation. And the casual mode on a game like this boggles my mind personally…
I was shocked that the score attack for gold stars has not really been brought up- it’s very strange how simplified the game is mow
I would rather of gotten a Gameboy DK 1994 remake honestly, (which was a better game) but this is still a good game, and nice it has more new levels in it.
Honestly would have loved to see '94 remade instead, but this isn't bad. Maybe they will if this does pretty well? Though that's mostly just a dream.
I found my old DSi the other day and played a bit of the second game, lots of nostalgia around that game
The price tag is ridiculous, and what makes it more ridiculous is how it didn’t go to nso and this was just released instead
Yes and no. Yes because its to capitalize off the movie and pushes Donkey Kong more and No because, its the kind of game that probably should of been on the NSO as most people aren't really gonna care for this unless their a fan of Puzzles, the Mario movie, or are just a plain Mario fan.
Exactly.
The movie came out and they scrambled to get games out with the characters in them.
Mario had Wonder come out.
Luigi gets a port of Luigi's Mansion 2.
DK gets this.
And Peach gets Showtime.
@@BIayne Donkey Kong got the proverbial short end of the stick (in my opinion): he needs *_*proper*_* representation in the form of a Nintendo video game in which he *_actually_* stars in, there (i.e. a Donkey Kong Country or Donkey Kong 64 remake)!
@@StevenVillman remakes of DKC 1+2+3 in the style of Returns/Tropical Freeze would have been awesome.
A remake of DK64 would be amazing.
There's a rumor thats been going around for years that the team who developed Mario Odyssey is making a new 3D Donkey Kong game.
I would be happy if instead DK is playable in Odyssey 2 and Donkey Kong Country is one of the worlds you visit.
Even if it's just Cappy capturing DK so you can play as him.
There’s a rabid Nintendo user base who will literally buy ANYTHING that has Mario in it. Nintendo would be insane not to capitalise on that
I had a lot of fun with the original release on the GBA but haven't played it since it first released. I think twenty years later, it's going to be like a brand new game to me. The extra content and post-game stuff will just be the icing on the cake.
It’s a fine enough budget release to fill space, but I didn’t play much of this when I got it for free on 3DS and I’m certainly not dropping $50 on it.
Yeah honestly just doesn't seem to have much to it. No way am I paying full price for this, but maybe if it was on a 75% discount
Same here, especially when they took the funny voice clips from the original which added to the game’s charm.
@@SlimeBlueMSNintendo doesn't do 75% discounts. At best 50%. But since the game is $50 I think the best discount we'll see is it being down to $30.
Oh yeah, I pre ordered this game and was just reliving my childhood. I loved this game as a kid, and I have that same love and nostalgia after 15 years of not playing this game, actively searching for a copy (not online) for about 3 years.
I didn’t care much when this game was first announced, but now that I understand what this game is it has certainly grown on me. I won’t be picking it up at its current price point, but I’m sure it’s still a great experience.
This wasnt my first Gameboy game but i have a lot of good memories with it. I played this thing back to back on the gameboy, it looked great and was most importantly straight up fun to play!
Very happy it got remade. 🎉
I played the game at a kiosk on gba back in the day and really wamted it but never got it. It wasnt until last year i got it and played through it and enjoyed it, definitely made me feel like a kid again. Then this was announced and i knew i was getting it again. Played for about an hour last night, already at world 4. I wish they kept the fall damage from the OG but its fine. Still enjoying it!
I really want this game but I’m not paying full retail
I’ll snag it on the secondary market later on
I'd never buy a game for $70 if I can play it on my phone for free. Play the first one on a GBA emulator, it's almost the exact same.
Same goes for Advance Wars remake. The GBA one is superior, and free.
@@SlimeBlueMS
This guy gets it.
I absolutely loved the donkey kong arcade, 94 and wasn't able to find the gba copy of this. I'm so excited
I loved the original. Great follow-up to Donkey Kong 94. I was always sad that it never got any sequels.
It got sequels on the DS.
@@franknacc1718 Eh, there were a bunch of games with the same title, and the first one did end in a "2," but they were a totally different genre and bore virtually no resemblance to the originals, so they don't count as sequels in my book. I wanted a SEQUEL that built on the gameplay, not just puzzle spinoffs that share the title.
I got this on GBA so to me 2 worlds and some additional content isn't worth $50. The only thing that would have saved this was a level editor (which they had in Mario vs donkey Kong March of the minis on the DSi for $10)
March of Minis had a completely different gameplay style though.
It’s Nintendo, you’re not gonna get a level editor and it doesn’t need it. If you wanna editor you’re better off looking elsewhere.
I had this on my Gameboy as a little kid, I loved it, so happy to see Nintendo dig into their pockets and bring this format back.
I never played the original game, but I got this to play with my 6 year old daughter. We're having a blast. She loves it! She's able to beat a lot of the levels on her own, but it's still fun playing together.
I also like how the multiplayer mode adds a second key that you need to get, so that makes it a little harder.
I’ve played the demo, thought it was decent
Maybe not a launch pickup for me but I will pick up later. Maybe when the price drops on The UK Version of Amazon, I’ll probably pick up then
Im 38 and my mom sat down with me recently to watch me play this and a few other newer games. One of the first things she kept asking and didn't understand was "where's the score"? I agree with her completely. Where's the overall numerical score for each little thing I've achieved throughout the level or game? Im bummed about the voice lines also. Remakes add stuff and take away stuff from the OGS.
So im 35. his had to be my first game boy game lol now my 3 yr and i are playing the demo. Love it.
I played it on original GameBoy for soooo many years and ever since GBA version I didn't play it. Looking so much playing it again.
Donkey Kong on Gameboy was one of my favorite games growing up. I was never quite as fond of the GBA game but it’s still a very solid, fun game.
So obviously the whole point of remaking this, is that Nintendo is starting to push Donkey Kong on a new generation.
First this, then the Donkey Kong Country theme park attraction, then probably a new Donkey Kong game (I’m gonna take a bold guess; switch 2 launch title 😎) and then a movie with Seth Rogan.
Another point of these remakes are so that people who didn’t play the original get to experience it. Aka people like me.
I can totally see why people say it’s not worth 50. But for me, I never played it before and it adds a second player which was a main selling point for me. Not sure if I’d buy it if I played it on gba but either way, I know I will enjoy it and get my moneys worth. I don’t mind these type of remasters at all
I haven't finished the game just yet. But I am at the boss fight on W7. I am kind of expecting 8 worlds but if I'm right I finished most of the game going for 100% completion and I've only put in a couple hours and didn't feel like I was rushing or anything. Which wouldn't bother me if the game was half the price that it is. But I definitely feel like I significantly over paid for the game regardless of the fact I have been having fun playing through it.
going from the Wii U game where you make your own levels and share them to this is upsetting.
I highly recommend everyone check out Scott the Woz's episode about the E-shop. It goes into this series well and it's not good lol
I've never played the GBA version but the gameplay footage reminds me of Game Boy Donkey Kong. That game is super fun but very easy as you say about this game. I'll probably pick this one up eventually.
This is a great step but I would like to see Nintendo go all the way and remake the original Donkey Kong '94. This year marks its 30th year and it was a major stepping stone between the original Donkey Kong and Mario vs. Donkey Kong series.
No, a Donkey Kong *_Country_* remake would be more appropriate there: the original Donkey Kong Country video game on the SNES was way, *_way_* more popular - *_and iconic!_* - than the _Donkey Kong '94_ video game.
@@StevenVillmanDKC is perfect as it is. 94 would benefit a lot more with a remake.
Then buy this awesome game then.
@@AndySola I have to disagree with you! Both video game titles *_do_* have outdated graphics [at least for *_today's_* (2024's) standards], but _Donkey Kong Country_ is more well-known by people (like I said in my last comment here).
Felix proposing the idea of a "kid era" is quite humorous to me
When this game was announced, I thought it was a remake of the Game Boy game Donkey Kong - a full blown extension of the original. I absolutely loved that game and miss it. Whilst I’m disappointed that this isn’t it, I did still preorder it and am looking forward to playing it again
It does seem weird this game exists when the GBA is now available for Switch Online, so I appreciate the video to hear some of the differences 😊
My complaint with this remake is that there's no scoring system like the original. I get why, they want the remake more accessible. But it removes the challenge of getting stars, and no one is talking about that
They replaced the scoring system with a time attack mode, which unlocks after you beat the first final boss.
No falling damage is really sucky though. Its what made jumps and height heartpumping.
I got the digital last night. For what it is, it is good. Funny, lots of people are thinking $30, as that is exactly the price i said to friends this morning.
So i definitely agree it about the price.
For $50, a remake GBA game should have way more added to it than this does.
I recommended it to a few friends who have young children as I think it is a good way to get into puzzle games since they love Mario. For adults, it is an easy game.
It’s a hidden gem that deserved to be brought back, but $50 is a bit much. I’d pay $40
I play the original on the GBA when I was a kid, and I am now playing this game again in co-op with my 6 year old Son. We are having a great time with this game.
This is definitely the type of game to wait for a price drop.
Are the e-reader levels from the original in this game?
Did it need a remake? Probably not. I can tell this was a more budget title vs something like Odyssey or Wonder. That said, I'm so grateful they did remake it. MvsDK was one of my absolute favorites and I can't believe it got a glow-up.
I never played the original on GBA. I've played all the rest, and was trying to find the original on GBA for a decent price, then they announced this and finally I can.
And I love it.
Glad it's only around £30 though.
It's $70 in Canada. Absolutely not worth it
Our dollar is virtually identical to USD. Why are games so much mote expensive here?
Could have just emulated it
@@Substantial-hf1rm No 😘
I played the demo and enjoyed it, might wait on some kind of discount for the full version though
Why not DK64 HD? Retexured like OOT 4K which we all need? Like we all need n64 remasters...
I think they should remake this together with Donkey Kong 94, the true predecessor and a more unknown game today. 50 for a GBA game is too much, but for 2 games with the GB one with more needed revamped graphics would be an instabuy for me. Advance Wars includes 2 games, Another Code includes 2 games (1 from Wii) so seeing this only one game looks not enough for a full price and I was only naming recent Nintendo games!
Never played the original...but I love this game. it's the perfect after work relax game. and I love that it's not that difficult. and man, the 2 player mode is so fun!
Is the entire game coop or is it separate levels?
You can play the entire game co-op. It works pretty well too.
It’s ok, I’ll pick it up for the collection at some point. Played the demo and due to a combination of slow pace and ease of the puzzles, it was a bit tedious. I don’t mind easy puzzle games but normally you can blow through the levels but the slow pace of Mario is a detriment here.
That was my main issue, the movement here feels sluggish, especially after playing something modern like SMB Wonder. This feels more like classic Mario Bros. from NES. I get that they wanted to stick to the original as much as possible, but I couldn't bear with it. On the plus side, the graphics feel like modern Mario and look very polished, as expected.
the first level is usually the easiest
The fall @2:30 would have stunned Mario in the original
my 8 and 10 year old really wanted it so we traded in tennis and a sonic game so that covered cost. but they love it. and funny watching them trying plan their attack.
I never even knew the game existed until this remake. My copy arrives on Monday. The demo was good, simple fun. Loved it!
There Was A Donkey Kong Game For The Game Boy That Started Mario Vs Donkey Kong Called Donkey Kong Made For The Original Game Boy 1994
At the very least we will get mini Mario toys. Either because Nintendo makes them or because someone rips the official models and people 3D print them
Didnt realize this was already released. Ill probably but it, but not just yet. Im gonna be busy in a few weeks with FF7 Rebirth.
This was my favorite game boy game - Legend of the Six Golden Coins is probably in second place.
BTW, i never owned a game boy, but i did later buy a Super Game Boy Color (it let you play Game Boy games on the SNES).
Loved the game as a kid, but ye, definitely waiting for a sale
I agree it's not worth $50. I played the Game Boy version of this (DK 94 I believe) and enjoyed it as a kid.
I was able to find a deal to get this for $30 with a QVC new customer coupon, so I just ordered it.
Definitely will pick it up... But at a sale price. I think im going to buy Donkey Kong Jr from the eshop first. Obviously not a remake. But Donkey Kong 94 would have been my pick if i were to request a remake. That was a great time for me. And id have spent $50 for it.
seems like a fun, well polished puzzle-platformer remake but not worth $50 bucks! At that price it just doesn't make it a must play for me...
Way better than any of their recent releases lol
I'm playing it with my brother and it's one of the best co-op experiences
Honestly, no. In terms of financials and profit, they could have just added the original to the GBA NSO. Definitely not worth $50 for a Switch game.
What they should have done (maybe they’re going to do it still) is finally release Twilight Princess to Switch but add in some small new details like if you have the TOTK amiibos, you can unlock a cool unique tunic like a Champions tunic to wear in Twilight Princess. That would have made much more of a profit than a come-and-go game like this.
This game was made by Nintendo Software Technology, they don't really have the resources to make anything massive. I think it was definitely worth remaking. Keep in mind, sure, this might be $50, but even if it was $30, you could argue it's still not great value compared to, say, Zelda, at $60-70. These games balance the books a bit, the price is not just in a vacuum.
It's not a remake of the first game in the series. it's a remake of the second game in the series. the first game in the series is Donkey Kong for the Game Boy. It's not just the original Donkey Kong for the Game Boy. it added 94 new level. a crazy amount for the Game Boy.
IMO this should just put original version on GBA selection. I wished many years that they would make classic style Mario VS DK, since I didn't like controlling toy marios in sequels. And now they just remade GBA game. Yeah there is new levels but mostly it's just same as the original. Maybe if I see this cheap somewhere I might pick it up, but not for full price.
But I hope new people will have fun with this one.
It was worth remaking it. But there are other games that deserve remaking them. Such as Golden Sun series, Chrono Trigger, Lufia 2 Rise of The Sinistrals, some fire emblem games. They could have included in this the Gameboy Version of Mario vs Donkey Kong and so many other games they have forgotten.
I played this as a kid 20yrs ago and love it. Ive been waiting for this release since it was announced months ago!
I mean, I agree with being a smart consumer and all and I know Nintendo makes plenty of money but I see this as just helping fund the next project. If it does well they will do more like this. Also as a developer I guess I understand that there is no such thing as a “simple remake” when you go from code for GBA to Switch. This is not an emulation, this took a lot of developer work. I would much rather buy this at full price because devs remade such an iconic game that shows love was put into it rather than pay even more for something like Diablo IV that it’s clear the devs did a lot of work but mainly to make a cash hungry game built for micro purchases. Just my two cents though.
Played the demo and was not a fan of it personally, but for people who enjoy that type of game it was a very nicely done remake.
its possibly one of the most blatant "filler" titles to ever hit switch lol.
...not to mention the fact that that it is actually *_hating on_* Donkey Kong for demoting him to villain/enemy boss status after all of the Donkey Kong Country/Donkey Kong Land video games in which he was a Star in or, what is at the very least, someone who needs rescuing there by his allies/friends! 🙄😮💨😑
"It's easy" That's how I know they didn't actually* beat the stages, because getting the high-scores is actually pretty tough, at least in the original.
Update: Someone mentioned that they removed the high-score system from this game.
If that's true, then that's a complete disgrace and they should be ashamed because that was the whole point of the game! Beating the scores!
Not for me. Got bored with it after the demo and the price point is laughable.
Based on the visuals and sounds of the original, I think it's fair to say it warranted a remake. The GBA is an incredible system, but sometimes it punched above its weight.
I'm surprised they didn't charge $70 for it.
Mario=Mirette (Mirette Investigates)
Donkey Kong=Madeline(Celeste)
Shy Guys=Badeline(Celeste)
I'll definitely get this game when it goes down in price a tiny bit :).
This game is great for whoever hasn't played it. But the GBA version still holds up well and I didn't think it was necessary to remake it.
Got that Wind waker and twilight princess not-remake crying 😢
they gotta save those for the switch 2
I have nostalgia with the original game, when I was younger I saw it on the Wii U Virtual Console and just decided to randomly buy it. Even with the nostalgia I have for the game it’s kind of a pointless remake. I’m happy it exists and I did buy the game but it’s a very random title to remake.
I played the demo with my son who is 8, he loved it so I will pick this up to play with him but think ibwillnwait for a price drop
Do you know what would make it better? A *LEVEL EDITOR* like the original game was going to have!
It's nice game to distract myself from daily routine. It's too easy sometimes but who needs tough challenge at the end of the day. Very enjoyable.
Worth remaking? I guess, it's a decent little game that was lacking a strong presentation. A GBA online release would have been perfectly fine, but it's certainly not a bad thing to have a better version. The $50 price tag, however, is extraordinarily hard to justify unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket. I'm aware of the whole 2D platformer "quality over playtime" argument and that's all fine, but this game just doesn't rise very high in terms of quality above your average puzzle game for most. I would encourage anyone interested to question if they are buying this game because they want to play a GBA puzzle game ASAP or if it's the newest Mario release. Still, don't let negativity get in the way of enjoying a game.
Absolutely. The GBA original is great, but its presentation from the graphics to the music were just... Not good at all. Most remakes simply set out to improve the presentation while maintaining the core gameplay, and this game desperately needed that treatment. It's much more necessary than most remakes, I'll say that much.
Funny cuz I think the graphics look good. Im just a bit dissapointed with some of the changes in the cutscenes.
The GBA game looks great. Of course not if you're playing it on a 65 inch screen, but it still looks excellent on a small screen.
I always said the original was an ugly game and the constant voices and sounds were annoying. Probably why I never played it or gave it much attention.
@@thenonexistingherothe GBA original looks like trash in comparison and don’t get me started on the scratchy sound of the GBA which is more scratchy than the average Sega Genesis game the Switch remake blows away the pathetic GBA original 😂😂😂😂
