How I manage my Pokémon storage:
Hold each Pokémon in your hands. Does it spark joy?
Yes - keep it.
No - transfer it.

She likes them. Your collection should be made up of the Pokémon you like. I like 100% ‘mons. I will keep all of those. Mystic7 might have over 100 Sudowoodios. That’s what he likes. That’s what makes the game fun.

After someone transfers a 100% on purpose, it's hard to get excited for them when they get another 100%. They could just transfer that. You don't know. LOL
instead of deleting them he should of put together a meet and greet or hang out day event and traded them to all his top loyal patron fans.
I personally keep the pokemon from the CDs and do mirror trades. Its fun to have shiny luckies, so those are special trades worth happening :D!
Edit: Also, in all honesty, if u are gonna transfer shiny pokemon, u can always offer them to people in ur community. you can probably make another person's day !
Great concept but often they want to wait until lucky friends to improve IVs... so now holding Pokémon for months.
How rare is it to get lucky trade when mirroring on community day I am thinking about doing this from now on instead of transferring Mona

Elliot Brown - based on my experience there is no difference between odds of getting a lucky trade from normal trading on ComDay vs. not ComDay.
Hitting the cap of 100 trades per day, you should expect it to average out to about 1:20 on recent Pokémon.
(Odds should increase if at least one of the Pokémon was caught 1+ years ago).
Also noting to complete 100 trades within community day bonus hours can be difficult.

I find Re-naming Pokemon is crucial to keeping your storage tidy.
Trainer Club is talking about trading some, legacy moves older Pokémon for hopeful lucky trade - renaming appropriately stops you from having to double check again later.
I guess sometimes we have to do what we gotta do. Thanks for putting things into better perspective, have just gone on a massive deleting spree. I need to think of this as more of a long term thing rather than anything else. Cheers. :)
I agree. It is sad, but sometimes we have to ship some of our herds to the butcher or glue factory so that we can make a living.
I keep all my shinies (between 50 - 60), everything above 2500 and good pvp pokemon under 2500. I also keep a male and a female Pikachu for every hat variant. And at last, I keep smol, cute things or things that can become really strong in the future.

Very helpful. I thought transferring was basically removing duplicates and I would just remove those will lower CP. I had never even seen that they have different abilities nor IVs... Well, I have been playing for a week now so I guess those mistakes were meant to happen..

Yeah, I've run a ledgendary hunt club for almost 2 years on Saturday mornings. I have 3300 ledgendary raids. I only usually keep best 6 for raid possibility and 3 for trading. 3 shinys. 2 for trading

Great video and great tips for clearing out storage! Shiny and 100% are rare for me, so I keep them....with an exception for comm day, I don't need 19 shiny slakoth 🤦🏻♀️ Poke Genie has helped me to decide which ones to keep. I have 1690/1700 right now and really need to do some transferring. I do have an attachment to my first pokemon, who is now a maxed out venusaur 💚

Great topic and timing for the video , hurts a lot to transfer usable ones. hopefully they announce anything on pokemon home to prevent this activity from recurring every CD and go fest. Surely destroyed me with the shiny bulbasuar transfer (Suar line is my favorite). Ironically though I am currently hunting for a shiny squirtle on lets go pikachu.

Don't forget if people own LETS GO, they can transfer them over to GO Park - its quite nice as you can use the Celadon lady to guarantee nature for the main line games

I keep all hundos, delete/trade/reroll all shinies, no GBL specific mon, and the rest are held for trades. Trade mon are mostly shinies, regionals, unowns. 2000/3000 pre event like SZ, Gofest is a very good start. Still holding onto 100+ Pachirisu from Chicago. They're going away in July. 6 Unown of each letter except for rares like V or !.
Niantic just needs to give us more Pokemon storage or make a similar PC function such as in the main games so that we can store mons we will never use but would want to keep.

*Trainer Club:* I have a question.. I have found *zero* use for Smeargle's, but just the fact that they "know" such a variety of different moveset combinations, I am hesitant to transfer most of them. What is your advice?
Trebor Ironwolfe If you listen to me you should transfer it because there is nothing to do with them although they have nice move sets. Niether can be used in PvP nor in raids

Im surprised u dont use the name generator that Poke Genie offers, it can be tedious but very helpful to know the pokemons ivs or whether it has legacy moves without having to click on it to see the stats.

I keep every Pokemon just one and as much legendaries and mythical.
I also keep more and more Pokemon that are rare and come in handy while raising. eg. - Machamp, Gengar, gyrados,etc
This has made sorting my inventory space so much easier, thank you!
As a more hardcore player, do you have a list of 10-30 Pokemon that you instantly transfer? That’s a list I’m looking for of the low hanging fruit that I can use to quickly increase storage.

This is great advice but for us newbies it's still not something that's super workable for us. I'm still trying to figure out which pokemons you just have in the index and not in the bag, I do battle league for fun and have no idea about stats and a video about that would be great. Like are there pokemons that you have no use for whatsoever? Thanks for the advice, as always great content.
if i have a shiny and the pokemon storage is getting full without the unwanted pokemon i just transfer them to pokemon home, that way i can play them on sword and shield without sacrificing that vanity of losing them. but it takes a lot of transfer energy so i just transfer them by two's or three's
I just recycled 1000 pokemon a couple weeks ago but already almost back to 3k with daily pruning. Let the great comm shiny transfer begin pogo is life.
I was hoping this would be more helpful, I finally was able to transfer extra Com day shinies or some pokemon that just sat there, but I don't think I needed to see you go through thousands of perfect 100 IV exclusive shiny mega super ultra incredibly rare pokemon and go "I already have 8 of these, might as well transfer"

I have right now 436 pokemons in pokedex, but in collection I have 299 out of 300. I don't have no duplicates. I really need a pokemon storage. As you said, mithycals and other new pokemons are coming out and I have to make space in pokemon collection.
When I go through my box and check Pokemon to trash, I usually name the ones Im getting rid of trash after checking then I type in Trash in my search, select all of said trash and transfer all of them.
Hey, thanks so much for the share! I have a question tho, I like to save shinies and special Pokes (like Seedots or Liverpool Pikas) for trades, loads of trades. Isn't that useful too? Like, the shiny Abras. Aren't they useful like, for example a shiny Charmander (which I don't have🖤) Wouldn't that be useful for so much more?
people don't value community day shinies like the others. maybe in two years, people will be looking for those shiny abra.
While you may not want to use an Elite TM it reduces the trade value. In the case of Lapras it’s come back at least twice.

I'm oblivious to much of what your deciding factors are. Like, you pulled up that weedle and said why you're keeping it, and I was lost.
Maybe its easier to see on this video around 19:50 you see Grimer CP 1154 and Grimer CP 468 with yellow bubbles. I havent ever seen a pokemon with such. I looked it up and I cant find any info how to get such pokemon with that yellow bubble.
