• Exploring OURAY COLORA...
Oh Catherine… As always a stunning trip that makes us feel like we’re actually with you in Ouray. Beautifully done. 💕
I made my first trip to the Ouray when I was five years old with my parents. I will be 73 in November. It was my father’s favorite place in Colorado. We made many return trips over the years. Thank you for sharing your trip. It brings back many wonderful memories.
Our family's also. We also had to go there!
Good Morning. The International Balloon Fiesta is next weekend in Albuquerque. You should drop by and take some pictures. It's 9 days long.
Ouray, CO. Just so Awesome. What a Beautiful place to see. Thank you so much for all of your hard work Catherine 💜. I will do my best to get out there as well as Silverton. God Willing🙏 May God be with you and keep you safe Catherine 🙏 Will see you next Sunday ✌😊💛💜
Dear Cat 🍀😊😘thank you for that peaceful nice scenery video🙏☺️ what a gorgeous cute cosy town. 🤩A big nice contrast to our 4 million City… 😉 We appreciate what you prefer to watch, same like us 🥰Thanks for the minutes 🥳🍀your Berlin Fan Couple, Nicole and Hardy 😊🙏😘Take care on you🤞
Thank you both so much!!! ❤️
Another 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review for this video! Can’t help but think about all the manpower it took to build those spectacular roads so that today we can have such breathtaking views! Thanks, Cat. 👍🏻😊🌲
My 'coffee with Catherine' didn't disappoint! Ouray is now on my list of places to visit. What a beautiful spot. Thank you for sharing your lifes adventures with us. Happy Trails!
I was based out of OURAY springtime several yrs ago for photography workshop. Small Quaint Beautiful town! ALSO the wildflowers in the basin were amazing and worth the (careful) drive!😉👍
@@imabyugrl4262 Heading there tomorrow for the same reason!
@@AE5X soooo jealous. Need a chauffeur??😉🤣
So beautiful and the moose shot was spectacular.
You have the most alluring eyes
Thank you for showing this beautiful spot of the earth!
"Dan keep your eyes on the road". Yes so we all can enjoy the incredible views of the million dollar highway. I think Ouray is going to see an influx of Catherine's viewers in the next year.
Another wonderful video to start the week!
I’ve watched professionally made travel documentaries that aren’t as well made and captivating as yours. I look forward to your weekly videos so much. Thank you for sharing our country’s beauty with us!
At 77yrs old, I can only watch and enjoy your lovely adventures. Your videos are my very favorite....Thank you for the amazing places I get to visit from my home...In my next life I plan to be a traveler....Best to you Catherine.
Thank you Wanda! ❤️
Quray and the surrounding area affords some of the most incredible scenery that the Rocky Mountain High country has to offer. Catherine, your photographic skills have captured every bit of it. Wow! Hopefully you add some of your prints to your website store.
Good Sunday morning to you Catherine. What a magnificent little town! Also, Dan taking you where you couldn't go in your own rig, was a tribute to the wonderful subscribers you have. You are probably admire around the globe! Stunning pics and videos. This town is now on my list of must see places. Thanks for taking us along with you and Dan! As always, love you and be safe. 💖🙏
Colorado looks so beautiful...what a way to start a morning, having some good breakfast and enjoying the great outdoors.
Amei....
It is. Just about anywhere up in the mountains they could create national parks and they would all be top visit sites.
My hubby drove that road the first time in the early '70's. It was more narrow and very bumpy. Spectacular scenery! I relive our adventures with videos!
Cat! Ouray is awesome…. I rode through Silverton & Ouray in early September…. Wow, those roads have a way of reminding you, to drive safely, and live life to the fullest! Great Video! Check out the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP outside of Montrose… Super cool too! Safe travels, and grand adventures. Rand
Thank you Rand! Hope you had a great trip!
My God. Nature really delivers the goods in Colorado. In spades. Thanks for another video gem.
One of the most beautiful places ever showed on my screen. Love it! And I could say, the One Million Dollar Hwy gave us the One Million Dollar Video. Very much appreciated, John.
When you said it was going to be a great day, you cut to a shot of your maple syrup. At first I thought it was a bottle of bourbon and said to myself "It's kind of early for that, but yeah, that'll make it a great day". 😊
A little trivia: French toast in France is called "le pain perdu", which literally means "lost bread". ("pain" is the French word for bread) It originated as a way to avoid wasting stale bread, bread that would otherwise be wasted, i.e. lost.
Very cool Kimberly. Makes sense to me! ❤
Very interesting info. Thanks 😊
Great trivia, thank you. Is it true stale bread is best when making "le pain perdu"?
@@noworries.8601 Well, there are some differences between American french toast and French pain perdu. The French use a sturdier, crustier bread, rather than the sandwich bread we typically use. They also soak longer, in a custard (eggs, milk, creme, etc) instead of just an egg wash like we do. The stale bread soaks up the custard & softens it, while the crust keeps it from falling apart. That's how the bread gets "unlost", i.e. soft enough again to use & eat. I wouldn't recommend that for American-style sandwich bread because the crust isn't sturdy enough to hold up to an overnight soaking.
@@KimberlyGreen Thank you for that very detailed explanation. I appreciate you.
Ive been planning a family trip to Colorado, and have seen many travel videos but this is the most beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful trails Catherine, you are getting chauffeured around Colorado the last 2 episodes. Very nice you were able to go on those adventures. Ouray looks like a great place to spend some time exploring. Have a wonderful Sunday.
Thank you for what you do! I am a Colorado native and often get negative attitude and mind set about the millions of people that have moved here from other stated. So many changes and not for the better! You are blessed with the ability to show the beauty that is still here and unchanging.
Totally agree with you, my home town of Golden is ruined, way to many people, used to live at the base of table MTN, so nice & quiet, now hoards of people, a quiet 2 lane road is now a 4 lane with huge houses, kinda sad to see what was once beautiful open meadows ruined, & the pollution is terrible, never used to be this bad, but places get ruined when there is to many people, but this is a beautiful video
I too am a Colorado native 3rd generation and I have seen changes as well and like you said not for the better. I love going to these back places I appreciate Catherine showing the beaury of our state and the west in general.
This place is outstanding. I have visited Switzerland and still I would visit this place for sure. Thanks for showing this hidden treasure. I follow your videos for a while but this is what really made me feel like I should be there. Last couple of weeks I was travelling forests and parks across Nevada, Utah and California. Thank you again and keep it up…
every sunday morning i eat eggs home fries and bacon i watch your videos on my 70 inch flat screen its like being there so relaxing what a way to enjoy breakfast thank you
So love your videos! Thank you MUCHLY for God's beauty! 👍 👍Special shout out to Dan for driving!
Thank you 🙏
Hooray for the Ouray video!!! 😎
To mimic everyone else’s observations, another stunning video!
This area was just added to my bucket list of places to see.
Your perspective and cinematography skills definitely have helped with that decision…enjoy the rest of your week and safe travels….
I live in western Colorado and Ouray and the surrounding Mountains are one of my favorite destinations for sure. To me this is why I live in Colorado.
Catherine your vlogs make my Sunday morning! I so enjoy watching them. Thank you again for sharing your amazing adventures with us
Traveling these mountain roads (virtually or in person) I am in awe of those whose hard work helped to carve them into the landscape! Such a beautiful area .
Catherine, I continue to be amazed how beautiful our country is, Thank you for bringing us along.
Yup...home sweet home...we enjoyed our coffee and pancakes ( w home-grown raspberries!) With you today. Ha! Thanks for the breath-taking tour! 👍🇨🇦🌲😎💜
I lived in Gunnison, Colorado for five years and spent a lot of my free time over in Ouray. You haven't 'lived' until you drive the Million in the winter. ;) Nicely done.
06:39 Yankee Boy Basin is absolutely stunning! A slice of heaven.
Aside from Wyoming and Alaska, Colorado has got to be one of the most beautiful states in the US. Thanks so much for taking us along. The scenery is phenomenal!
It really is!
COFFEE and CAT just makes my Sunday mornings. Traveling vicariously thru u Catherine to some of my favorite places in AMERICA!!
🙏✌️👍
A few years back I had the pleasure of being picked up at the Albuquerque airport for a trip to Ouray thru Silverton, and a few other beautiful places, to attend a wedding. Traveling along the Million Dollar Hiway we reached Ouray and was amazed at the sight. While in Ouray I enjoyed an excursion along with other relatives to some old mining areas accessible only by four wheel drive, beautiful. Also climbed to top of waterfall that freezes in winter and has hundreds of ice climbers from all over the world. Ouray is a beautiful place and would definetly visit again.
Good morning Catherine thanks for the stunning vidio. There are mountain roads just like that narrow one in British Columbia white knuckle driving for sure. Stay safe. 👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌹🌹
What another lucky opportunity for the Jeep tour. Thank you as always for including along on such a beautiful day.
Chief Ouray was famous in Colorado and the United States as a man of peace. His great negotiating skills helped prevent the kind of massacres and depredations that had been visited on other tribes from being perpetrated against the Utes. ... Ouray was born near Taos, where his Tabeguache Ute band often stayed.
Yep. A great man. I'm friends with his great great great great grandson Roland McCook who lives in Montrose.
Wow !! So scenic. At 17:25 I had to stop the vid and just admire the view , the colors , rocks , clouds and sunlight all come together to create a beautiful picture. Thx. Cat.
We spent the night in Ouray 2 years ago. The mountains around there are so exposed and raw, it is such a rugged beauty. Perhaps the worn and exposed rock is what brought the silver to the surface(?). Loved that back country in Yankee Boy Basin. Your You Tube fans are always willing to help you out. We will, too, if you're ever up at the Olympic Peninsula. Thanks again for sharing your life adventures.
WOWSERS!!! That was so nice of Dan to take you. It's nice to see your subscriber numbers going up, you so deserve it.
I spent a week in Ouray back in August of 1973…. Thoroughly enjoyed your film that brought up so many great memories of days gone by…. Thank You. Kk
Hi there!! Welcome to Ouray!! We are fortunate to walk here every day!
Ha...my dog lives a grander life than my previous 6 german shepherds; he gets 3 visits to the Cascade Falls per day.
My favorite little town in Colorado Ouray. I'm hoping to go there again soon.
Absolutely breathtaking, Catherine! I've been to the Swiss Alps and I must say Ouray certainly more than holds its own in majestic beauty. Incredible camera work!
What a spectacular scenery. Thanks for showing us this beautiful corner of the world. Greetings from Australia
Catherine, Catherine.....wow, love it. Envy. Your content is awe inspiring. My Sunday vid fix.
Cat, another great video with fantastic scenery!!! How anyone can thumbs down any of your videos is beyond me!! 👍👍👍❤❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
One of my favorite places in the world is Ouray! In addition to the activities you mentioned is the world-famous ice climbing in the wintertime. Ouray, and the surrounding area, really is a wonderland!
I love french toast especially with cinnamon. What a beautiful area to visit. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks for the short tour of the Ouray area Catherine. We lived in the San Juans for many years (Lake City, Durango), and even honeymooned in Ouray in 1987. We used to ski Telluride and Crested Butte regularly. As we watched this video, we eagerly awaited to see one of the most popular of all attractions there, on the north end of town, and were sad that it was completely missed and not mentioned. Ouray is world famous for its massive hot springs public pools, an incredible experience, especially at night when all the lights are on. Tens of thousands of visitors soak in the pools every year, and one part of the facility includes a cooler lap pool for serious swimmers. Well, all is not lost I suppose if you ever visit again, and you can see for yourself this magnificent hot water wonderland!
steve
Breathtaking. What a gem! So grateful for the man last year that tipped you off
It is worth noting the elevation of the town of Ouray (almost 7800') and that almost the whole thing is off-camber, so walking around town could be tricky for some. I've spent lots of time there over the last 30 years, still one of my faves!
P.S. Thank goodness for Dan!
Yesterday I hiked up Yankee Boy from the Ouray 550 parking lot, 13+ miles of INCREDIBLE scenery, turned around at the fork that went to Imogene and Yankee Boy basin. Wish I had the energy to make it a little further up to the basin but that was one heck of a elevation accent and I was out of energy. Thank you for your beautiful video of this area.
What a gorgeously beautiful trip. The scenery is stunning. Thank you for sharing this relaxing video. :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Catherine. I lived in Denver Colorado area for 57 years but moved to Cody WY, 2 years ago. I guess I had never explorer the Ouray area much. I don't think I have every been on that Yankee Boy Basin Trail. Now after seeing your video I'm going to have to plan a trip or two back down to Ouray. Like so many of your videos it makes me want to go see those places. Keep up the Great video work. It's AWESOME. ;) ;) ;)
Darn you Catherine!!! Every time I watch one of your videos another beautiful destination is added to my list of places to visit. Your posts are always a breath of fresh air. Take care..R.
Wow so colorful the drive through the mountains and the lil town...i love lil towns☺
Nobody describes and films a location like you - TOTALLY AWESOME 🍻
We were out in Ouray Colorado back in June 2019 but we stayed right outside of Town , cause of my big Rig, and couldn't find a parking space and didn't have our tow car with us, So we want to go back and enjoy walking through the town side walks.
I am blown away the agility of that Jeep - its been in 2 of your vids now tackling some daunting trails (Imogene pass!) yet seems like its clearance wouldn’t allow it. Skilled driver no doubt.
Great way to kick off the Sunday adventure with French Toast and beautiful scenery. good decision to park your "Rig" and take Dan's 4X4. Thank you for taking all us along! Well done! Be safe, be well!
A lot of the van life channels have some beautiful scenery shots. Large part of the attraction of the life and of the vids. Your professional qualifications show. Your eye for light and opportunity set you above the rabble.
Beautiful stunning view 😍
I had passed by there June 2019 on my way to telluride I love these towns Ouray, Silverton, Durango 👍🏻💕
Thanks Catherine, the video scenery was amazing. Your videos just keep getting better and better. Stay safe and be well.
I could taste that French Toast! It was delicious 😋!
Your camera angles make your camper look spacious.
What a beautiful video!
Stunning does not begin to describe that area. Thank you Cat, for taking us along. And for breakfast.lol🤤
Just left Ouray and Silverton yesterday. The fall colors were amazing. The snow started to fly going over Red Mountain pass as we left this morning.
Oh my Catherine, I was just in Ouray last week, ate lunch there. Beautiful little town. Just got back home early yesterday morning. We drove down from Grand Junction headed to Silverton to ride the Silverton to Durango narrow gauge. You probably found out they only open Rt 550 to Silverton from noon to 1:00pm due to road construction. Silverton, with it's old stores and dirt streets reminds me a LOT of Dawson City, Yukon. I loved it all...
Thanks again for taking me to places I'll never see without your video's, love always.
Computer, Coffee and Catherine - You have me raising my coffee cup to toast another wonderful video. You have me looking forward to our Sunday mornings video get togethers. Thanks so much!
Hello cat thanks for sharing 👍 😊 stunning is the word you be safe
It is the cutest little trail town. I was there a couple of years ago for a weaving conference! Loved it here!
I spent time in Ouray and Telluride in July 2016. Two of the most magical places ever!
I love Colorado.. I think it's one of the prettiest States.. I used to live in Estes Park, Co.. that place is so incredible.. my friend still lives there and says there's way too many tourist nowadays.. I'm glad I got to live there when it was more peaceful.. that was about 25 years ago..
Thanks for the absolutely Gorgeous tour of Ouray area... Blessings💖💖💖 Happy Trails
WOW...are those mountain roads one way only...jeez beautiful but terrifying!
what a stunning ouray of mountains.
We were in Ouray last May at the end of our cross country trip... we didn't want to leave! Absolutely stunning scenery, great hiking trails, cute little historical downtown, and the nicest people... all around wonderful vibe
Box Canyon Falls is a must hike!
Can't wait to get back out there!
Thank you, Catherine! Really enjoyed my tour of Ouray!! Amazingly beautiful!!!!
Magnificent!! not much else to say
I visited there 25 years ago. One of the most beautiful places I’ve been. Thanks for the video!
Stupendous scenery in Yankee Boy Basin. Enchanting town of Ouray too. Thanks for sharing. Jenny :o)
Wow! Your video skills are the best. Love them.
What a beautiful video. Your camera and editing skills are masterful. And, it’s so nice to see a nomad who does not live in salad and avocado toast alone.
Thanks Catherine stunning scenery yet again 👍👍💙
The VIEWS Cat!!!! Holy Macanoly!! Spectacular! Almost like being there, you can smell that mountain air and feel the cold water in the run off from the high snow melt
Love your videos. The scenery was gorgeous. Thank you so much. Blessings
Like you said three times, stunning. Every scene you captured in the video is one big "wow" moment. I could explore this entire region for an entire summer! It's one of your best videos, Catherine.
Another spectacular video Catherine. The San Juan's are truly a jewel of Colorado. My past vacations in the 90's always included that part of Colorado and want to thank you for taking me along with you on this trip. Happy adventures to you! 🏞⛺🛶🎶👣✨🤗
Wow imagine living there with the background of those beautiful mountains! So so beautiful! Thanks for the ride! 👍
That bottle of syrup almost looks like a bottle of Crown Royal...I almost asked you if off-grid living was starting to get to you.😀😀😀
😂😂😂
I can see my house at 5:30...been there 23 years. But I must say, this is the best video of Ouray I've found on social media - you captured the essence of our town exceptionally well. From now on when anyone asks me about Ouray I'll point them to this video. One last thing - you pronounced our towns name correctly, well done!
There truly are no words to adequately describe the most beautiful places of our amazing planet. Thanks for taking us along on your amazing journeys. Safe travels, Catherine. ❤️
As i wrote more than once , you are the best videographer in youtube , amazing and beautiful.
This reminds me of Cripple Creek architecture wise but not so rugged terrane there. in the 70's I visited a friend from college who was raised there & operated a custom jewelry business in a local shop. His family operated the Imperial Hotel where they would put on gay 90's review performed by college students of the arts. They're gone now and I doubt that any of it looks the same as last I heard converting much of it to gambling casinos changed it a lot. Thanks for sharing and bringing back some fond memories of my friend Steve, Bonnie and his family!
Catherine there’s an amazing hike to a place called Potato Lake. It’s off the million dollar highway as you’re heading towards Durango.
Beautifully created video , from the stills , running rivers sounds , cooking breakfast , waterfalls and much more !! I have huge admiration Catherine !! for you and all your hard work while you travel , bringing us all these amazing videos !!
Thanks so much Anika!
