Just ran into this video, and i have to say is the view is breathtaking. I have lived in Colorado my intire life and never have been here, but i sure am going to go this year. Thank you for sharing.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Wiesbaden Lodge, One of my duty assignments was at RMC WIESBADEN Germane. Absolutely the best four years of our lives. When looking for Accommodations we had to stay here. The Wiesbaden Lodge held to its name!! Clean and relaxing pool, Vapor Cave where I played my Native Flute and private mineral bath. A very relaxing three day stay. The spa is caddy corner and one block up from the Court House seen in ‘The Dukes ‘ John Wayne movie True Grit. The lodge is a easy walk to the Main Street shopping and great RESTAURANTS.
Ouray (Yir-RAY) has all the alpine things to do.....hiking trails, waterfalls, public hot spring baths, ice climbing festival, skiing nearby, ice skating outdoor rink, via ferrata, great restaurants, museums, shops, outdoor gear, jeep tours, opera house.....best relatively undiscovered mountain town in CO imo
My family and I went there in 93 for Christmas. We flew in from Southern Illinois and then to Montrose went into the Jeep and spent the week there over Christmas it was magical took the Jeep up in the mountains and the kids played in the Frozen waterfalls we became past fast friends with Doug and Patty we ran the Cajun bakery I don't know that it's still there but there were many people there then and the ice climbing wall wasn't built yet so still pretty quiet it was just a great great Christmas
That sounds wonderful! There are so many unique family-owned shops there. I don’t think that I saw a Cajun bakery there, but I would have loved to check it out. Great times!
We go every couple years. I gotta say that in 2021, there were issues with places being closed due to lack of help. Telluride was also suffering the effects of a reduced workforce. The trails were still magnificent, and the people are still friendly.
We went back to the ray in 95 my son and I did a pedal the peaks bike loop out there and my wife and daughter stayed in town made several visits there rode the Durango to Silverton railroad enough and then my son went to college there for a couple years and Durango
This is such a beautiful area!! THANKS for the video I subscribed!!
