    Great video as usual. The Forest Service website has this statement about RV length : “Total RV length should not exceed 35 feet. “

    I really like yours videos we are in the Texas Panhandle so scouting out nice campgrounds for us is a little bit harder. The amphitheater campground is definitely one of our favorite ones that we stayed in over the past few years.

    One of my favorite campgrounds in CO, gotten much harder to get reservations there in last decade.

      Me too! I'm still amazed by how hard it is to find info on some campgrounds in 2022. After 250+ videos I still find myself blindly booking sites occasionally. Keeps me motivated to continue doing what I do.

    Disperse camping for me, though it seems some people try to get them BIG campers way back in there too, Ripping down the poor tree limbs and such. Its Just NOT made for those things in those places, went to Divide Last Year, OK TRIED, They Block the trails with SO MANY Fifth Wheels no one But ATV could get around em.. then when they left They Left TRASH every where, But we all were smart,. We had Pictures of all THERE CAMPERS! Plates Included. Mr Ranger Was VERY HAPPY for the pics!! LMAO! THANKS FOR THE VEWS!!

    Did you check out Box Canyon campground too?
    You folks seem to visit a lot of these popular places off peak season. Smart. The year I was there I was chased north by the closure of four national forests due to fires. Even the Durango area was experiencing a huge fire.

    • @CampgroundRecon
      @CampgroundRecon  Před 3 lety +1

      Haven't been to Box Canyon yet. Covid slowed down our video output going into last summer, so we went crazy in September to make sure we had enough content to create a weekly video well past when campgrounds opened this spring. It was nice to get in and see so many when it wasn't busy.

    Hello 👋

  • @NomadicNorthwoods
    @NomadicNorthwoods Před 2 lety

    You know I love these campgrounds but they should be 100% free. No hookups and a pit toilet I'm not going to use. So $24 for parking. Gimme a break what are you the airport? I'm shuffling my $ from out of town spending it all over your state. This is why 90% of the time I just boondock and let my dog run all over and enjoy no neighbors. Great campgrounds but they're just cash registers to the US forest service.....stop being greedy uncle Sam you grab enough of our $ as it is.

    • @CampgroundRecon

      The $10 bundle of firewood bothers me.

    • @wb1164
      @wb1164 Před 2 lety

      @@CampgroundRecon That's the host. They make money on the wood. The real kicker, it's always pine - which burns stupid fast. Never have hardwoods.

    • @wb1164
      @wb1164 Před 2 lety +1

      Bud, the real greed is spent in the DoD. USFS is so underfunded, to call campgrounds "cash registers" is laughable. There are so many sites in bear country that don't have basic bear boxes. The clowns we keep electing don't bother to understand the needs of these places, they're millionaires. I would bet 99% of millionaires are not camping. I'd rather these sites be handled by the state, at least we have people from these areas represented at the state capitol.

    • @ertatta
      @ertatta Před 2 lety

      I totally agree, If the USFS needs more than $12 a night at campsites like this, then they are once again proven why government sucks so hard. They love to create more & more jobs for their buddies & family. Ridiculous!
