- In this video, Dr. Puru Dhawan will tell you how to repair kidneys with baking soda?
Acid is produced by each and every cell of the body during its metabolism. On accumulation of acid in the blood pH of the blood goes down making blood acidic. When an excess amount of acid is produced in the body it causes metabolic acidosis. To control metabolic acidosis, kidney patients are advised to take sodium bicarbonate or baking soda. Baking soda neutralizes acid in our body. KFT and Serum bicarbonate test are performed simultaneously to check the amount of acid present in the blood. Normal Serum bicarbonate levels are
22 - 29 mEq/L. Patients with 16 mEq/L serum bicarbonate levels are advised to take 2g of baking soda thrice a day while patients with 18mEq/L serum bicarbonate levels are advised to take 1g of baking soda thrice a day.
Citrus foods should be avoided such as oranges, mangoes, grapes, berries, and vinegar.

You may have saved my life my GFR was 60 . Before that I was drinking apple cider vinegar for weight loss and I believe that's the reason .
You stopped apple cider vinegar. How is your GFR now ?
I damaged my kidneys listing to Dr. Eric Berg who seems to think apple cider vinegar and keto diet is the cure for everything. I was drinking apple cider vinegar with added lemon because that's what he said to do. My bones started hurting so badly I couldn't sleep. I checked my urine pH and it was as low as you can test on the pH chart. I started taking a teaspoon of baking soda 3xs a day until the pain went away 😫
Please explain? My sister was drinking it to lower her blood pressure instead of taking her two blood pressure meds. She's been in a coma since December 6, 2022. She's very swollen and her stomach is hard. Doctors giving her sodium to reverse kidney damage so she doesn't have to do kidney treatment.

Do you have a video explaining cause of renal cysts and how to naturally treat it? A relative I know has been experiencing increased of flank pain and the doctor thinks it could be due to one of the larger cyst has gotten larger. If so, then he advised to do a Laparoscopic kidney cyst ablation but someone commented in another person's kidney video that it didn't work for him because the cyst came back. Logically, I am thinking why go through the procedure only for it to come back and what are the risks involved. Does it outweigh the benefits. I would love to see a video on this!!

All citrus fruits are acidic but when they are consumed,they become alkaline is what many studies have shown. Your statement in this video is contrary to these reports. Will you please clarify??

There is none until it's too late. You need a blood test and ask your Dr. for the results

I was taking baking soda 3 times per day...but I wouldn't suggest any body to do that cause your feet and ankles will swell

Be careful of too much fruit. Fructose can harm the liver and thus harm the kidneys. I think Dr Eric Berg talks about this. It is better to eat a lot of vegetables and if you want fruit stick to low glucemic like berries and apples....in moderation.

I think they should be taken separately as the baking soda would neutralize the acv. In the video he says kidney patients should avoid acids such as lemon juice and vinegars all together.

Dissolve half a teaspoon in a glass of water.
Start with half a spoon under tounge first. Then drink later in the day, same amount mixed with water. Preferably warm water.

Doctor says to avoid citric acid fruits but so many other doctors have recommended to drink lemon water to help with any kidney conditions. So I am confused by this doctor's advice not to. My friend's Nephrogloists recommended lemon water for stage 3 kidney failure. Can anyone shed light on this?
lemon water can act as a kidney detox agent , but it totally depends upon the patient's medical report , if phosphorus , creatinine , urea , potassium & sodium are in control in the patient's body then lemon water won't harm the patient otherwise it is not advised to drink it

All of the lab tests you mentioned are at normal level. Is it ok to still take the bicarbonate tablets if the person is drinking lemon water daily? Will it throw off the pH balance?
I heard this too, I've noticed if l drink fresh lemon water in chopped ice it's helping with the heartburn. Lemons are acidic but once they enter in you they become acidic, try some honey & ginger too it might help.

Omg u was drinking vinegar an lemon water for weight loss I stopped now I take to baking soda pills twice a day an kindey support an it seem to be working but what kind of fruit can I eat please help

NORMALLY IT IS TRUE THAT SODIUMCHLORIDE INCREASES BLOOD PRESSURE .lS it harmful to use Sodium bicarbonate to a hypertension patient .? Because both of them contains Sodium . Also doctors advise to control SODIUM to the hyper tension personnels .Please clarify the same Doctor .
Take telmisartan 40 mg everyday then no problem of hypertension
People with high blood pressure should avoid baking soda high in sodium ok
I think it won't be a problem hence you are taking your daily high blood pressure medicine, I have high BP and I am taking my daily high BP medicine and I drank a mixture of 1cup of water with 1 teaspoon of baking soda once a day for 3 days without any problem.

Write ALL your questions down, call your (a) doctor, make an appointment, make sure he/she does blood tests such as a CBC and thyroid hormone. Most doctors are not able to answer too many in depth questions without seeing you first. There are both legal reasons as well as the level of responsibility a doctor decides to take on online. DO NOT START OR STOP A medication without consulting a doctor IN PERSON, after some routine blood work, urine tests as well as any other tests the doctor thinks you should undergo.
