    I've got to tell you, I felt a little of that emotion you had when she turned over that first time. I don't know what it actually was, maybe the thought of "this might actually work", or just the feeling of hearing it turn over after all of that work, but I felt it. I had just eaten a big meatloaf supper, so that could have been part of what I was feeling.

I always thought that the coiled brake lines were done like that to allow them to flex a little bit if necessary. I'm not 100% sure about that but that's what I thought it was for. Very nice!

    I'm not reading through 300+ comments because I showed up late to the show, but if you didn't know, the pulley you took off @ 2:00 is called an AC bypass pulley. It's designed to sit where the compressor goes. Much cheaper option when the compressor dies. And then you don't have to try guessing what size belt you need to keep the truck going

    Hey Captain some advice here for your heater lines. You will have some issues with your heat the way you have the lines hooked up. You are missing one line that should go from the water pump to the thermostat housing. Then there is a fitting that should be in the intake that you hook the hose that goes to the firewall. Currently you have plugs in both of those ports. I did the very same thing on my ford and the heat only worked for a bit then quit. Love the vidja series btw!

    There is a threaded hole in the center of the shaft you can put a bolt in then nutand washer to run down the bolt to the pully until it is on the right distance on the powerstering pump. Beating thepully on the shaft can damage the insides of the pump. They do make a puller and pusher for that is inexpensive and fits chevy also. Keep up the good work.

    The brake lines are coiled to allow flex between chassis and cab and vibrations. Otherwise the line connections may loosen or lines crack at the fittings.

  • @gwbuilder5779
    @gwbuilder5779 Před 2 měsíci

    Howdy Mike,
    You are doing just fine bud.👌
    The core support (for the radiator core) is part of the front clip, just need the fenders and the front clip is complete.😉
    The coils on your brake lines are the additional length of brake line to equalize the system, the same applies to the hydraulic lines on the Triple Nickel. If you notice one has more coils than the other, typically the front, because the rear has farther to go.
    The "Oh God", laugh, and big smile was the perfect way to end the video!😂👌🤙

    If you look at a few year newer that water hose ran through that bracket above the alternator with non AC trucks and had a factory oval hole in it, as said the brake lines coiled up if for different movement between cab/chassis from flexible body mounts and torsional flex. That alternator isnt the fire hazard model, the ones notorious for catching fire had 3 big wires that plugged into the case. I use 3G alternators on everything Ford now as they can be had from 80A all way to 300A in the same frame size and connections

    Hey Cap, good morning! Just saw you hook up you clutch master cylinder. When I worked for a contractor as a mechanic (as well as one of there operators) I had trouble with a ford super duty clutch. Thought it was a bad clutch, turned out that Ford had a TSB about the firewall plate the master cylinder was mounted to. The spot welds would come lose so that when you pushed the clutch pedal it would allow the whole plate to move. Thus making it hard to shift. There is a simple fix though , they (Ford) offer a kit that sandwiches the inner and outer plates together. Easypeasy!
