The more someone listens to his testimony, he said there was no bias that lead to continuing the investigation shows just how biased they are.
I find corruption to be an interesting subject. From a purely psychological point of view, those engaged in corrupt activity, seem to convince themselves that what they are doing is anything but corrupt, and when questioned later are able to present their crimes as the result of as mistakes, misbehavior, or even incompetency. This is like the kid who has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar (and cookie crumbs on his face) insisting that he borrowed the cookies while sleepwalking in the middle of the afternoon.
