I love how the younger versions of herself have their eyes closed. Like she was too young to see what was happening to her. When we get to her meeting Henry, she has her eyes closed not because she's naive but because she DOESNT want to see whats happening. She cant handle the truth... When she closes her eyes as Present-K. Howard, its her wanting to forget what's happened to her

In the part when say "Touch me. Love me." Is very strong because, the actual Katherine say "Touch me" like she knows her past abuse. But past Katherine says "Love me", because she thinks that men do is love.

What really broke me was her conversations with her younger statues.
How, when talking to her 13-year-old self, the 13-year-old was happy and blushing and filled with childish hope that she'd found her true love.
Later, with her slightly older self, the slightly older version stopped Katherine from moving forward, saying that Francis IS the guy for me. I'm older now, and I can see that. Please, let me do this. (Which the slightly older Katherine immediately regrets after admitting the corset line)
By the time Katherine's in Henry's court, she's completely exhausted. She doesn't want any more chemistry, but when Henry says "Love" she knows that it's just gonna happen again. She doesn't resist. There's no hope or passion in her actions, and she knows she had it all wrong her whole life.
But. What I found really cool is that the real Katherine is drawn to Thomas. SHE'S the one who goes to him, and actually looks happy to see him. Happy to have one friend as an outcome of all of this. Kind of reminds me of how historical Katherine Howard said she'd much rather be Thomas's wife than Henry's right before she was beheaded.
Anyway, I absolutely love this animatic. You knocked it out of the park and the animated bits were AMAZING!! Plus all the backgrounds, detailed lineart and everything else are so well made, and the ending really made me feel things after seeing all her heads on the ground.

The only issue with this sadly, is that Thomas was also a manipulative abuser and predator in his own way.
Where even despite the seemingly "damning" love letters, there is consider that Thomas might have known about Kathrine's sexual history, the men she was with previously, and could have very well have blackmailed her to write the letters. Plus, again, she was still a teenage girl only 17... And Thomas was her older adult cousin. Really, none of the men in Kathrine's life were good people. They were all adult men who used, sexually abused, manipulated, and even raped a teenager in a time where there would have been no recourse. Made worse because so many historians would present her as a sexually promiscuous woman, blaming the victim. A child of grooming, exploitation, sexual abuse, and rape.
Agreed. Poor Howard. She just wanted someone to love her, and she was used by everyone.

The cracks in her body getting more prominent w/ each man she meets, Henry's statue crumbling before her like her status when she was being accused, and her running/avoiding the falling debris of the statue like the legend saying she was running in the halls screaming for Henry's mercy.
Good sir/madam, this is immediately one of my favorite animatics of this song.
She actually practiced laying her head on the block several nights before her execution so it could be quick and painless, but Henry actually got a unskilled executioner to wield the axe when removing her head, so it took multiple hits to completely separate her head form her body.

I like this animatic a lot for several different reasons.
1. Katherine seems annoyed/disgusted with the men involved with her when she was younger, whereas in most animatics Katherine seems happy-ish with her older decisions up until the end
2. I like how her younger selves start to realize that what's going on isn't fun anymore towards the end
3. The lineart is so smooth??? what????
4. The parts with animation is so nice?? I've only seen a couple animatics for this song with animation and this is probably my favorite!
5. I also like how everyone except current Katherine are statues.

I just love how throughout the whole video, K looks disgusted, upset, and just not enjoying her walk down memory lane despite the bubbly, playful tone of the song. Really drives home the msg that what she went through was horrible. Also the cracks on all her statues that kept growing as she progressed, nice details 👌♥️
Most of the ones I've seen K Howard is smiling while singing and it's kind of off-putting.

I know what she went through was bad and that shes not going to be enjoying remembering it, but i personally think k is forcing a playful tone through her sadness which actually highlights the tragedy that happened to her. I like the disgusted take too, but think the 'smiling while singing' is more accurate musical-wise.

This is so good, when the little K only sang "love me" but the old K finished the rest, oh my god
I love how eventually the less innocent lyrics get sung by the growing Katherine and now the Katherine looking back. The first one just said “love me” but as it went on, the less innocent “touch me”, “can’t get enoughsy” started branching to the other one showing how she was becoming more aware of the game they all were playing with her.
Ok but the beheading scene being on the top of a tower, with her alone in front of a giant axe, kinda impling how helpless and alone she feels at that moment, it's so fundamentally dramatic! It's perfect! I love how all of the animatics for this song are so original, and even with a whole lot of versions out there, you still managed to explore new possibilities! Congratulations, this is amazing!

Everytime I listen to this song, animatic or not, I can’t help but feel sorry for K Howard for how her life ended up and her innocence lost in the most WRONG way possible. I wouldn’t blame her for having it worse than the others.
I don’t know what hurts more: the cracks that became more prominent as each men comes in to her life, or the present Katherine looking back with terror

I like the way how pained Kathrine's expression is when she's talking to her younger self or seeing/mentioning the people who sexually abused her.
Also, the crack on 13 year old Kathrine's neck is a good detail! And Kathrine's younger selves has their eyes closed, kinda saying how blind they are for not realising it sooner.
I love how on her past / younger selves, her eyes are open but she doesnt have pupils i think its indicating she knew it was happening but she didnt know what IS happening nor knows what the situation or the mens' purpose for being with her, she just thinks its love

Oh my goodness this animatic has so many fine details that I think it'd be hard to really describe how beautifully and put together this was! The crisp and clean linework and art style just really brings this song to life. I love how protective and regretful the present Katherine is, the younger Katherine's showing very little sign of this abuse but at the same time as time progresses with all these men, it does show to the point where they can't do anything about it.
I love how she was walking through the halls and at the end started running back and turning into a tower that just traps her, which really shows how he was during these circumstances!
Whether or not it's true but people say she was screaming and begging mercy from King Henry while being accused and planned of execution and this animatic in a sense gave me a vibe of her reliving that? I'm not entirely sure if that makes sense.
But from beautiful story exucution, your art style is just beautifully unique and so satisfying to watch, the little animations from the running are so nicely done! Honestly there's a lot of amazing things to say about this! Amazing work!

I really like how KATHRINE howard is just walking through the moments of her past and she looks very upset since her being used by many men
I love how in this animatic that she looks so upset and disgusted with what happened to her
I love the drastic difference between your takes on Anne and Katherine’s executions. Anne fell downwards into a crowd of people, including her daughter, and smiling for her poem and her daughter as she was executed. But Katherine ran through the crumbling statues of her past and ended up at the top of a tower where no one was there (not even the executioner), signifying her loneliness, and was dignified when the axe came down, like how she practiced IRL.

I like how her negative expressions change the tone of the actress’ singing: it changes it from that more standard upbeat tone/interpretation to a more bitter one, and I think that’s really cool!
I'm so glad there's finally an animatic of this song that shows how Katherine seems to get more skeptical of her relations with these men as the song goes on, you can see her trying to convince herself that this is okay, that this is normal.
I love how this animatic ACTUALLY shows Kathrine's feeling towards these men and how she was used instead of being all happy about it until the last verse
I love how the younger Katherine's have eyes but no pupils, really hammers home how she didn't know these men were grooming and manipulating her at the time.
Also how even though Present Katherine is talking about what a great friend Thomas is she still looks on edge, just making more of an effort to cover it up
(She's sweating and has a sorta unconvincing half smile at 5:09.) Hinting that even though she's saying that he's just a good friend Present Katherine is still aware he'll assault her. She doesn't stop looking stressed and on edge until the other shoe finally drops at which point she has her breakdown.

At the end of the animatic I'm half-yelling "wake her up, this has gotta be a bad dream", and then the ending shot happened. That was intense!
I loved the detail of howard's body scream as it gets bigger and bigger representing pain I think.

God I love how much the statues changed with the "touch me, love me" line.
Younger Katherines said the "love me" line because they believed they cared but the Katherine who reached Henry was agreeing with the "can't get enough" line.
As someone who has gone through a similar experience as Howard in my teens, I love the tone of disgust in her voice is shown through your animation
And the switching of who is speaking with the "love me" hits hard because when I was younger I thought we were in love, but looking back on it now I'm so disappointed in myself as well as the man I was with

Present Katherine looks so hopeful with Thomas...Like someone cared for her and not her looks and it breaks my heart to see her face fall when she realizes he's just like everyone else
I love how she knows how everything turns out, but then when she gets to Thomas it’s fresh and doesn’t think it’ll happen... *again*
I love how you can see that the crack on her cheek turns from barely noticable to covering half her face everytime she got her heart broken by a man while the man also has the same crack on his cheek.
That made me think.. If the man the hurts her has the same mark on his cheek then.. When Thomas and Henry literally break apart.. Does that reflect Katherine's mental state? It shows that Thomas was the LAST STRAW for her. The crack at the beginning was barely noticable showing how naive Katherine was when she was younger but now you see how she quite literally "breaks down"
I loved that in this animatic they portrayed Katherine as still a kid when she meets the second guy. Usually people portray her as older but she was only fourteen when she was with Francis.
I love how the crack on past Katherine gets bigger and bigger each time she meets another guy. Plus the part where she runs in the end is kind of accurate since she broke free from the guards to find Henry as she ran through the haunted art gallery screaming and crying

I love the symbolism! I see it as Katherine walking through an art gallery of her past, when she realizes the memories slowly becoming more and more cracked/messy. She starts growing uncomfortable and confused, but only her subconscious brain has figured out why. As she dives deeper into her mind, she finally reaches her subconscious which is extremely messy and cracked. Only then did she connect the dots, and realize she was being broken by toxic relationships. She compares everything with her current side piece. By that time it’s too late, and she’s caught by Henry, and executed. Her cracked necklace is all that remains of the broken queen.
OMG THIS. IS. AMAZING!!!! The cracks in her body, the sadness in her eyes... all of it was incredible. My favorite part was when after the whole Thomas incident Katherine punches Henry's statue by accident and it starts breaking apart and falling into her, the way you portrayed how Henry was trying to destroy her after that even though it wasn't her fault was amazing.
I’ve never seen an animatic where Katherine is distressed the whole time and I love how you made her so concerned and sad for her younger self and who she’s become because of the abuse she’s suffered.
my favorite thing about this animatic is how when the last guy came around, she was all excited and happy, then when the “he says we have this…. connection…” lyric comes around she looks horrified.

I honestly the love the cracks on Catherine I love the details animators add to these historical characters, and I’m not sure if I’m correct but past Katherine’s eyes are always closed which can mean that she was blind the whole time and couldn’t see their true feelings towards her

The way you portrayed the story is INCREDIBLE. I particularly love the visible difference between her being naive at the time and awake now, so only her younger self sings the enthusiastic parts. Definitely one of my favorite animatics of this song :))

Can we just talk about the animation and the style of this animatic-
Her going up the tower, sort of looking at the end, each partner as a new hall. The older she got the more broken she was from all the guys using her from a young age, I mean, she was 19 when she was beheaded, she went through so much. Especially the ending showing how the statue of Henry broke, making her run to her end. That’s just my opinion.

I like how you show how young and naive her younger self and showing the cracks on her younger self identifying that this men affected her badly when they dropped her and left while also affecting her love life at the end of it and also shows why she was so desperately trying to find a mans love only to realize at the end of here death rail that was her down fall letting them do whatever they want to her and not understanding the consequences that well end up happening. And I also like how her older and ghost self looking back on this is disgusted and questioning why hasn’t she seen the red flags in the being but also understands at the time which makes her empathy for her self but also feeling a stupidity and regretfulness for not ubsussing over people who don’t care for her or what happens to her and that’s why I this so much and you did an amazing job.

I love the fact that we can't see the eyes of these ancient boyfriends, as if she didn't want to remember their faces. What's more, the younger girl's eyes are firm, as if she were "blinded by love", and she looks disgusted to see these men who have done her so much harm. I just LOVE this animatic !
I really loved what you did with turning the song into a duet between Katherine's younger naive self and her current self in the musical; it's something I haven't seen any other animations of this song do and adds a lot of depth.
I love how you actually drew the younger selves as young teenage girls, instead of later teenagers like the rest of the artists (not hating on the others, it just seems she's her age she actually was when this happened)

I love how over time she starts cracking more and more. She’s slowly breaking herself under people’s greed and the worlds high requirements of a woman.
I love how the younger Katherine's are statues and the cracks are bigger everytime she becomes older represent how she understands what's happening when she only wants a friend that accept who she really is and not sexual tension and the guys are also statues and also cracks when they said they love Katherine

I love how you made her run down the hallway because that's what happened when she found out she was being arrested and people say her ghost still runs down the same hallway
OMG I LOVE THIS! I remember watching you stream the WIP on insta and watching it all come together in this video is amazing! The symbolism, editing, and storyboarding of this entire animatic was a blessing to watch! You did a really good job!
