The little details, the dolls of the men in her life, showing how YOUNG she was in the beginning like....this is amazing
The shoes at the bedside at 1:42 said so much with so little detail. It's innocent because they're just shoes, but we know she's in bed with him. Then the lyrics that accompany it, the subject matter is gross but it's done in a really well framed way.

She’s not just young in the beginning. It’s speculated that she was somewhere between 15 and 16 when she married Henry. And it’s said she couldn’t have been older than 21 when she was beheaded. She’s a literal child throughout the whole of her story…
I really empathize with my fav queen. They got rid of her birth records so we don’t know her exact age, but she died at the age of 16 to 19. They use her oldest possible age to make the thing with the music teacher less... ew. To put it another way, her first time happened at 13.....OR AT FRICKIN’ 10!!! It was gross enough at 13, what with him being her teacher and 38, NOT 23 (Also something they did to cut down on the “ew” factor), but a 38 year old man with a likely prepubescent 10 year old, while also being in a direct position of authority over said 10 year old... It’s enough to make you vomit. Even in that time period, prepubescents were thought to be unable to give consent. Even after menarche, most waited until the hips finished developing, as childbirth was already risky, as the baby getting stuck because the hips were not wide enough was a real possibility for fully grown women, and even more likely to occur the younger the girl was. The fact that Katherine was beheaded for her being abused was victim blaming at its worst.
Thank you! So many people keep saying how "girls married really young back then, so it wasn't uncommon". I've studied quite a bit of European history, and I've found that most young brides in that era were at least over the age of 15, with 15 being the absolute lowest, due to the reasons you mentioned.
...I remember reading that she had men in her room as young as 5. She lived with either her aunt or grandmother or something, and she allowed men to come “see” her.
So...yeah..quite heartbreaking.
Apparently the age of consent back then was 12 i think...... If were going off the fact that she was 13 that means the music teacher had been WAITING just creeping on her because he KNEW that if he targeted her before he'd get punished
Saddest part is that as soon they had their first period they were no longer considered children, but women.. back then only time they waited for age 13-15 is for the higher position families with a social status since it was the perfect timing to present their young lady to possible suitable suitors.. the younger the bride the better many thought, sadly.
Sophie B Right? Europe was very weird in that aspect back then, especially with how the common women married in their early twenties and common men in their 30’s(ish). It’s mostly the nobility who would marry off their children young to secure alliances, but those children needed to be old enough to successfully bare children.

Fun fact: there wasn’t real evidence that she cheated on Henry. And she was also 19 when she died. 13 when she met her first “love” and married Henry at 15 (these are facts I heard so it might not be exactly correct)
They found a "love" to Culpeper but historians say that what she said (aka how she "spoke" in the letter) didn't match with her usual dialects it's also believed she was raped by Culpeper (and that the king knew)

Actually, I heard that her birth date was erased so, when she met her first "love", she could have been anything between 10 and 13 (also the guy was 38 not 23). Because of this, she could have been anything between 16 and 19 when she died. That is why there's so much discussion when it comes to her age. (I may be wrong but this makes a lot more sense then all the ages people say she was)

For those who don't know, here is the fact: it is believed that the night before her beheading, Katherine. H spent hours practicing how to rest her head on the decapitation block, which was brought to her cell at her request.

This perfectly conveyed how creepy scenarios like this are. She's SO young, and they look at her with what could be easily be mistaken as love from her perspective. Since she's so young it's even worse that the men are somewhat attractive, because what little girl wouldn't like their faces? Just so slimy feeling. Absolute perfection all the way around.

I wonder if the reason women in art from medieval and ancient times are always so small because most of them were little girls.
Yes and no. In spite of what people think, pubescent girls were NOT supposed to be getting pregnant and while they could be betrothed from birth, sex was not supposed to happen until they were completely done with puberty. A young girl having a baby was just extremely risky, as she and the baby could die. What happened to Katherine was horrific and would not have been considered societally alright even at the time. However, people were also just smaller. The average woman was just under 5' and men were around 5'4.

You're right. This song is almost completely inuendos. The music and Francis sections especially but also some in Henry's.
If you look up the lyrics on Genius Lyrics you'll see how exactly right you are
He let her use his favourite "quill" wich spilled "ink" all over. And then was her wrist tired. How can that not be sexually ?
I think this is meant to show how young she was, that she used little euphemisms and took them literally, the same as young kids tend to. Also the fact that vividly describing everything she went through probably wouldn’t be allowed.
Fun fact: the childish language like “birds and the bees me” is indeed childish language

It is always nice to see people bless the universe with talent! I am working on an animatic myself, but it has been taking a long time, what with homework, and getting distracted by She-Ra [and] the Princess[es] of Power videos.I didn't realize it was going to be historical, so that was really a nice surprise since I have not seen or even heard of this musical. Thank you for getting me interested.

@@saffi_taffi Well, you can get all 6 them on Audible, she can't take them away, then. Unless you really just don't like them, then that's okay. The narrator is just amazing, her name is Polly Lee. There are, like, legitimately 50 speaking characters, even if it is only 1 or 2 lines, but she can still make all of them distinctive. It is quite interesting when you are in the middle of one of the books and have to stop and remind yourself it is just one person. The one thing I can think of is the ending, which would be why your mom took it away if that was the case, maybe? You don't have to tell me, that is your family's personal views. I just think the amount of premeditation for the books is wonderful. You wouldn't know until the end and think back, though.

Catheran (don't know how to spell her name) of Aragon was married to King Henry for 24 years! Knowing that she was being cheated on, but still stayed! Then Jean really loved him, (they all did) but when she had her son, she just died! Didn't get to hold her son! So yeah...
