    I love these types of videos. I rewatch all of them. my twin sister and I wore exclamation and Malibu musk. Eternity in middle school. True Love, Baby soft, Charlie White, Coolwater, Tribu, Alyssa Ashley, Body Shop Musk. my older sister had pheromone breeze. I was very fortunate to have a stable happy childhood & my parents have been married for 50 years. my Mom's collection was extensive but I remember her Gucci 3 bottle vividly. my Dad used the Jovan White Musk for men. Fire & Ice totally reminds me of my bff growing up😊. I loved Outrageous shampoo. I rotated through so many fragrances in my early 20s like Light Blue, Origins Ginger, DKNY Women, Alfrad Sung Shi and Pure, CK Truth, Herrera 212 in the pill bottle, J Lo Glow. I think the only true signature that stuck around was Body Shop's White Musk...I have always reworn that fragrance over and over and never got sick of it
    Thank you again for these memories Sarah

      I had totally forgotten about those Pheromone perfumes and I just saw an ad for one the other day. The one I am thinking of was called Realm and I remember everyone thought it was going to bring them their soul mate. 😂❤️

    Aspen women and Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers for sure were my early signatures😍 I was all over fresh aquatic perfumes too 🌊 in my late teens. When I was 19 I wore Oblique Fast Forward and I was obsessed with the smell. I could never pull it off now. I wore Coolwater and Origins Ginger a lot. I also loved CH 212, Alfred Sung Shi, Ghost, Amarige, L'eau d'Issey, Cucumber melon, Deep Red, Boss woman, Pear Glace lotion and a lot of victoria secret stuff, Paris Hilton, Satsuma, Curious, Fantasy, MK Michael, Moon Sparkle, So Pink, Versace woman, Euphoria, Hypnose. So many beautiful scents of the past😭

      Yes! My mom had every single one of the Alfred Sung fragrances in the early 00's and I remember them being so good. So Pink from the Gap was amazing too. It was so fresh and fruity. ❤️

    I too wore the Exclamation, Malibu Musk and Electric Youth in elementary school. I'm blanking on what I wore in jr. high school daily but I know I wore Beautiful to the school dances. It was an old bottle my mom didn't want anymore. I wore Pleasures, CK One, Happy, Safari and various B&BW and VS lotion and body mists (Apple, Vanilla, Pearberry, Cucumber Melon and Satsuma) in high school. I also had some Abercrombie & Fitch and GAP perfumes. Then Polo Sport Woman, Tommy Girl, Pleasures, Glow, Curious, NOA and Romance in college and as a young adult. Love Spell, I liked that lotion and body mist in college. I had VS Heavenly, Divine and Love Spell as well. I'm sure I had more but those come to mind. Later, I had Daisy, Daisy Eau Fraiche, Light Blue and Walk On Air and many CLEAN and Philosophy perfumes.

    @TeganM.C. Před měsícem +7

    I really enjoyed this video and loved hearing the stories behind your perfume journey. Several scents you named have been pivotal in my life as well.
    I remember loving Tommy Girl in the early 00's. There's a huge bottle from maybe 2001 or so on my Mom's dresser that's 30% full. Still smells great. It is indeed timeless. I purchased Philosophy Falling in Love for my Mom in the early 2010's and she kept the bottle for years and I'd sneak and smell it. Such a wonderful creamy Blackberry scent.
    I also wanted to say that Jessica Simpson's Fancy Love in the white bottle is almost a dupe for the original Burberry. I've had both perfumes in my collection and Fancy Love was my signature in 2009. I know you love the original sweet Fancy in the pink and thought I'd mention this. Hope maybe you test it one day. Fragantica's description says the same thing. I remember thinking wait a minute when smelling the two side by side. Not identical but similar.
    I would also love to hear what BBW and VS scents you wore as well!!!

    • @SarahMayes
      @SarahMayes  Před měsícem +2

      I will definitely have to talk about the B&BW and VS scents I wore! There were a lot of them. Back then B&BW didn't have as many scents and they released them much slower so I remember picking them up as they released. ❤️

    Omg we share so many signatures ❤ my landmark obsessions over the years started with Impulse Fresco and Body Shop Vanilla, and went on to love Coty Wild Musk, Monsoon Monsoon, Chloe Innocence, CK Be, Cool Water, Paco by Paco Rabanne, Hot Couture, Hypnotic Poison, Light Blue and JPG Classique 😊 I kind of miss the days of having just a handful of perfumes, like just a few really special ones. I miss that almost magical obsession I had over fragrance when I was in my teens/early 20s. I love my modest collection of course, but I do fantasise about downsizing to 5 or so bottles. I think that ship sailed long ago though 😂

    I loved Tribu as a kid too, I still wear it. It's a classic. I totally remember Electric Youth that is nuts. I wore Exclamation and Love's Babysoft. I was wearing Liberty Fizz by Nina Ricci too. I took a long break from perfume in highschool and then my love for it came back in college. I was wearing everything from the Gap body sprays, Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton perfumes, Sparkling Peach by B&BW, Style from RL, Body and Heavenly from Victoria Secret, The Body Shop Dewberry Satsuma and Musk, Pleasures from E Lauder, and the Hollister perfume that was popular. My Mom wore Charlie!. Wonderful memories!

I only discovered Stella in 2011 when I moved to London, and then that’s when I truly fell for perfumes. I never managed to pick up a bottle of it which I regret to this day.

    Thanks, Sarah. I heard you mention Isabella Rossellini which reminded me that I used to own her perfume. Coty Leffleur was a gem. I owned it in my youth. I remember most of these. I had Charlie and Wild Musk and a Bob Mackie fragrance that a girlfriend of mine wore. Dana Chantilly was a popular one also. Joop! Le Bain was most likely my first true signature. I always gravitated towards warmer spicier scents and still do. My Mom liked Jean Nate bath products. I recall the Burberry Society ads a long time ago. I enjoyed Navy but it was not a stand-out. Some other ones I really enjoyed back then were Ralph Lauren Lauren, Safari, Must de Cartier, Casmir, Fendi by Fendi, Cabotine Gres, Chloe Narcisse, D+G Red Cap, Love's Baby Soft, Dior Poison, Samsara, Organza, Tresor, and YSL Champagne. I started wearing Thierry Mugler Angel when it came out in '92. It was way ahead of its time. I also loved Dior Hypnotic Poison when it released. I didn't care for most of the Body Shop products besides White Musk and Patchouli. Fragrances that I couldn't stand back then, but that I do appreciate now, were Chanel #5, Chanel Coco, Cacharel Eden and Anais Anais, Youth Dew, YSL Opium, Kuoros, ET Passion, and Shalimar. -Joan

    Hi Sarah! Dana Babysoft and Fresh Lemon 🍋 were my favorites as a kid and then I wore Coty Vanilla Musk, Liz Sport, Gap Grass, Fire & Ice, or Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. Tribu was amazing even though I never had it. The original 1995 Acqua di Gio was also spectacular fresh and fruity. I wore the original Vanilla oil from the Body Shop in college. When I started earning a little money I bought myself Gucci Rush and the old Gucci Envy. Those were both so amazing! Then Gucci EDP II and Lancome Miracle. I remember discovering a Lush store and I loved The Olive Branch perfume- It was soapy and clean. I wore Philosophy Falling in Love in the 2010 and those Clean perfumes.

    Love your flashback collection. You were like me! I would beg my mom to take me to every perfume counter. I would want to smell EVERYTHING. Britney Spears Curious was one of my earliest bottles of perfume. I was so obsessed with Britney and her music especially every song on In the Zone CD which I got for Xmas. I cherished that bottle and it smelled so good to my young nose.

I got into wearing D&G Light Blue because my older sister wore it. It was very strong. iwore Pink Sugar. I had bottles of Vera Wang Princess and Rock Princess. Rock Princess was better than regular Princess but it didn’t last. As I got older, like late teens, I started enjoying Coco Mademoiselle,Burberry Brit and CK Euphoria a lot. Euphoria smelled very mature to me and I thought I was so fancy wearing it. Then I started enjoying celebrity scents like Beyonce Heat and Rihanna Reb’l Fleur when they came out. Both those fragrances smell horrid to me now. Givenchy Very Irresistible reminds me specifically of college days when I was spending a lot of time in the dorms with friends. I also discovered Lolita Lempicka at that time and I was obsessed with that perfume.

    When someone says a scent is vintage, I really have no frame of reference for that. I wish I'd paid more attention as a young adult to that. My mother wore Elizabeth Arden and Elizabeth Taylor scents and would occasionally give me a bottle after I was a married adult, which I wore until they were gone. I remember she wore Blue Grass and White Shoulders and once bought me Love's Baby Soft when I was an older teen. I think I still have that pretty purple bottle of Elizabeth Taylor Passions she gave me, though I do not recall what any of them smelled like. I was always someone who would grab a random body spray that sounded good and wear it, but never perfume other than once or twice, I got a bottle of Navy from the drugstore. I just did not buy perfume in my entire life, not really. I only got into fragrance for real within the last five years (I'm almost 68), but because we are very frugal and on fixed income, I wear only affordable ones, dupes of high end ones from places like Impressive Bliss or 5 ml samples of good perfumes from ScentsAngel. I don't often really love many fragrances that others seem to love and I live in a rural area with no place to get my nose on anything, which makes choices a bit tricky. I find I don't like rose and have a hard time with saffron unless it's done to my liking. I rarely see anyone other than my husband who seems to think all perfume smells like urine-I tell him that his smeller is broken, LOL. ~Cynthia

      Hi Love! I don't know why I feel like I remember one of those Elizabeth Taylor scents, maybe her first one which I think was Passion?, smelled like Dior Poison? I could be totally wrong but I feel like I have that memory. ❤️

      @@SarahMayes You're probably right. Passion was a nice one, as I recall, but I have no actual scent memory of it. Maybe if I could find that bottle I know I have! I haven't ever smelled Poison that I recall. I wish I had more memories of perfumes I saw growing up on Mom's dressing table!

    I don't trust ebay when it comes to perfume. I have gotten scammed before.
    YASS I wore Malibu Musk and Exclamation so much. Sunflowers was everything though. I loved Tommy Girl, Coolwater, Ck One and Be, Eternity, Baby Soft and Soft Jasmine, Clinique Happy, Cashmere Mist, Pleasures, Beautiful, Green Tea, Liz Claiborne. I really wish we could go back to those style of perfumes. Everything today is generic. In college when I had no money I used to buy drugstore Body Fantasy sprays. I think I had one called Apple and one called Plumeria and ugh they were scrumptious.

    Oh gosh, I grew up in the 70s as a young teenager and my memories of all of those perfumes are awful. I did not like any of the 80s or 90s Fragrances I have all good memories of my childhood but I just do not like those old-fashioned smells, and aldehydes are the worst for me.. I recently bought a bottle of fire and ice because I had never smelled it back then and thought I might like it because I love Amber perfumes. I sprayed it a few times on myself tried it a few times and decided it had to go so I threw it in the trash same with cool water, I don’t know I just like the more modern perfume I guess

      Exactly like it. Well, the ones you could get back in the 90's. I don't know if they still make that shampoo somewhere and I am not sure what the reformulation of the fragrances smells like but back then the perfume and shampoo were the same fragrance. ❤️

    As a child I wore Avon’s Little Blossom and Pretty Peach. As an older child I also wore Exclamation and found a vintage bottle that is the best. As a teen I wore CKOne, then Victoria’s Secret Exotic Bouquet. In my college years it was JLO Glow, VS Rapture, Love Spell, Stella Rose Absolute and Guerlain’s Insolence EDT, Gucci II. Later I used Rose the One by D&G, Lancôme’s Tresor Midnight Rose. Now I have about 500 that I use!

    I loved Tribu. I remember it spilled on my bag in university. I saw it in fragrancex but i wasn’t sure if it’s still the same as some of the reviews where not good. Hope you could share your thoughts as soon as you buy a bottle.
    I was the youngest of 6 kids so if my siblings were wearing the original poison, tender poison, ckone and a lot of men fragrances (I love mens’ until now since I love citrus and aromatics) Aspen, Eternity, Cool water etc all for men, I would be wearing those as well.
    Your memory is great 👍🏼
