Wat heerlijk ontspannend om hier na te kijken, ten opzichte van de moderne tv programma's. Duidelijk zonder poespas.
Tevens heb ik meer met de auto's uit die tijd.
Lovely test. Watching it from todays perspective it is surprising how much information they delivered in a fairly short time. Zero bullshitting. I feel like i got to know almost everything about these cars to be able to decide which to buy.

72dB at 75mph for a 30 year old fiesta?! A lot of new cars today struggle to get less than 72dB.
Looking at this old tests, I now understand why since several years I do not buy any kind of car's magazine. Only bullshit. In the past was much more better, quite dialogues, kind people, smart cars.
The Volvo 340 is in a totally different category to the Fiesta and Uno. It seems pointless comparing the Volvo to the other two.
But reckon that prices of these three cars are indeed comparable. They all cost est. 21000-22000 NLG.
@@molibdenish Wonder if subsidies were involved, this Volvo being built in The Netherlands... Maybe the CVT gearbox was cheaper to build than the other automatic gearboxes. An automatic gearbox forms quite a chunk of the total cost in this class.
The Volvo 340 is the next category up from the Ford Fiesta and the Fiat Uno, it's in the Volvo's equivalent to the Ford Escort and the Fiat Strarter.
@@mipmipmipmipmip The Volvo was getting very long in the tooth, Volvo has been reducing prices to keep sales up to a level that full production could be maintained. The test model 'Winner' was also by far the cheapest model in the range.
@@CreRay it seems a rather cost-optimized model indeed :) looking at the dashboard at 3:17 every panel has a spacer, didn't even come with a radio it seems :)

En nog steeds te vinden (november 2017) bij RDW, heeft APK tot bijna einde 2019 !!

Wait, what??? UNO HAD AUTOMATIC as optional?? WHATT? 50hp engine - 10 from the powertrain -10 from the autoamatic, yes, this adds up to a whopping 20hp lol (30 hp) LOL!
Prachtige auto's, maar duur! Anno nu zijn nieuwe, kleine auto's relatief goedkoper en veel beter. Maar die oudjes hadden charme!

It's ironic how a safety-conscious car maker like Volvo stuck with rear wheel drive for so long.In slalom tests their old cars were prone to heavy oversteer.
How many times do you perform lengthy slaloms while driving?
F1 cars are rear wheel driven.

The Uno was the winner in the test
0-100 km/u in 17.9 sec... Daar kan je de dag van vandaag echt niet meer veilig de snelweg mee oprijden. Laat staan er langdurig mee blijven oprijden, je trommelvliezen scheuren vast van het kabaal...
Hoe denk je dat vrachtwagens dat doen dan? Een Golf IV SDI uit 2003 doet het ook niet sneller; 17.2 seconden.
13,4 seconde gaat nog, mijn vorige auto haalde vergelijkbare specs. Maar 17 a 18 sec is echt nog een héél stuk trager (lijkt op papier niet veel verschil maar merken zal je het in de praktijk)
Dan heb jij nog nooit in een Volvo 340 gezeten. Het geluid is inderdaad hard maar valt ook wel mee. Hij rijdt erg goed mee met het verkeer van nu. Nog beter dan al die Renault twingo's en andere hondenhokjes uit 1990 en 2000. De Volvo is altijd als eerste weg bij de stoplichten. En meestal ben je bij 15 sec al bij de 100. Je rijdt toch altijd 80 90 op de invoegstrook. Daarnaast zit je in die Volvo veel veiliger dan in die koekblikken.
@NederlandseVlogger zeg de Clio dat hij maar beter nooit in Italië probeert de oprit in de spits te nemen, dat komt niet goed
@NederlandseVlogger Duitsers kijken in de verte en lossen hun gas als ze traag verkeer zien invoegen. Italianen niet, maar je hoeft mij niet te geloven hoor.

Toen we in Nederland nog auto programma's op TV hadden. We hadden er een aantal, en nu niks meer.
OMG die Fiat Uno's waren net puddingbekers, als het hard regende dacht je dat het dak het zou begeven. Bovendien was ie zelfs met 75 pk niet vooruit te branden.
