EXCLUSIVE Traditional Slovak Food In UNESCO Village

- Dining at restaurant in the Ružomberok region in Slovakia a place called Vlkolínec which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with folk architecture dating from the 14th century. Vlkolínec situated in the centre of Slovakia, is a remarkably intact settlement with the traditional features of a Central European village. It is the region’s most complete group of these kinds of traditional log houses, often found in mountainous areas. This place reminds me of Čičmany in regards of it being a place of history and well preserved folk wood architecture. It is a remarkably well preserved rural medieval settlement featuring wooden architecture typical of hillside and mountain areas. Its layout, defined in part by the hilly terrain of the mountains of Veľká Fatra, features log houses situated on narrow lots with stables, barns and smaller outbuildings in the rear. A canalized stream flows through the centre of the village. Although the settlement has roots in the 10th century, its first records date to the late 14th century. The urban layout can be traced to this era as records indicate five streets in place by 1469. Most of the surviving buildings, however, date from the 19th century. These include 43 nearly intact homesteads that retain a multitude of archaic building elements, the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary built in 1875, a bell tower built in 1770, and a school. Vlkolínec represents the region’s best preserved and most complex urban unit of original folk architecture consisting of wooden houses and outbuildings, the wooden bell tower and mural buildings of the church and school.

Je to predsalen UNESCO dedina, kde je vysoká návštevnosť z veľkej časti sveta. Tam by sa to patrilo, takže je dobré, že je tak zdatný

Jednoznačne najlepší časník na celom liptove , príjemny , ochotný a zhovorčivý. Vo fachu sa vyzná , ústretový, vie odporučiť a o zákazníkov sa postará aj o 3tej ráno. Takéto klenoty si treba vážiť a zaplatiť poriadne aby nám neušli do zahraničia. Velký palec hore 👍
Chválim Pána Čašníka, jedlo vyzerá a verím, že aj chutí super. Ak budem v okolí, rád sa tam zastavím.

V momente keď pozerám toto video, má 18 677 vzhliadnutí. A dám ruku do ohňa, že tých 18677 ľudí čo to pozrelo si povedalo, že ak najbližšie pojdu do Vlkolínca, zájdu do tej reštaurácie. Pán majiteľ zamestnal klenot z cechu čašníkov. Pána pozdravujem, určite sa uvidíme, cestu tam plánujeme už dlšie. Andre, perfektné videa, pokračuj, ale kľudne rob aj dlhšie, tých 9 minút je naozaj málo.

I guess having sweet main meal is quite unusual for other cultures and lots of English guys would expect those dumplings to be a pudding but no, that's a main dish - that's why the portion is large and it's not overly sweet as it's not considered "a sweet"... However those dumplings were a bit skimpy on the filling. Also traditionally they would probably have some sort of whole fruit in them (strawberries, plums, cherries...) and not a "jam".
Also while in Slovakia, you should probably try "kapustnica" soup. It's a staple.

let me explain what is the difference between Slivka vs Slivovice or Hruska vs Hruskovice...etc in Slovakia....if the name is Slivka/Hruska/etc then it is not a Palenka/Distillate from Fruits/ but it is made from a low quality Spirit (made from Potatoes etc.) with added Aroma /nothing natural/....BUT what you want is Palenka /made from Fruit mash without added sugar, etc/ which then have the name Fruit+*ica aka Slivovica, Hruskovica etc...always go for the Palenka avoid the Slivka/Hruska crap
@@bzucobzuco5537 vidim ze si znalec, na Slovensku sa predavaju dva druhy tvrdeho alkoholu: Liehoviny a Destilaty. Liehoviny su technicky lieh (vyrobeny z Zemiakov, Jacmenu, atd) kde sa doda len umela aroma...tieto sracky sa mozu predavat LEN menom ako Hruska, Slivka, atd. a potom su destilaty kde sa destiluje ovocny kvas a ziska sa Palenka ktora sa oznacuje ako Slivovica, Hruskovica, atd...ak si rozdiel medzi pomenovanim Hruska vs Hruskovica (Lieh vs Destilat) nevedel...tak aspon budes vediet preco stoji 0.7l Hrusky 4 Ecka a 0.7l Hrusovice 12 Ecka

ja sa praveze hanbim ako sa k nemu na Slovensku chovaju.... celkovo sme na tom biedne asi v oboch krajinach, hlavne ako sa spravaju k cudzincom a ludom inej rasy...
@@Fifilipkoko No když se budu bavit speciálně o číšnících, tak mi nepřijde, že by se k Andrému v průměru chovali nějak jinak kvůli tomu že je cizinec nebo kvůli rase (samozřejmě nějaká výjimka se občas najít může). Někdy narazí na super obsluhu, jako tady, jindy na úplně otřesnou. Ale jako rodilý Čech zažívám v Česku úplně to stejné.

You can speak by czech language in both states, becasue we were one state 40 years ago, so we have very similar language
4:20 only alcohol made with genuine fruit distillation can be legally called with "ica" suffix (e.g. slivovica, hruškovica, jablkovica), when the manufacturers make cheap spirits out of potatoes grain beetroot or whatever, and then add artificial fruit flavoring and coloring, then it must be called something else. Thats why they are selling both slivka and slivovica. The slivovica was 52 plum destilate while the slivka was probably some sort of 32% potato destilate with plum artificial flavor .
