Thanks for the information. I have a Samsung 400RHS/XAA dishwasher that kept flashing the "Heavy and Auto Sensing" light after around 5 minutes of starting, followed by draining while the lights kept flashing. Your instructions solved the problem. The float in the flow meter was not stuck, however, the small port were the flow meter attaches to the upper tank was totally plugged with algae. I removed and cleaned both the upper tank and flow meter per your instructions. Presto, the dishwasher works like new again. The best part, was that there were no costs associated with the DYI repair. Thanks!!

Thank you so much for this very helpful and thorough video! I was able to save hundred of dollars by not having to purchase a brand new dishwasher! Instead, I followed your instructions and took everything apart, gave it a good clean and put it back together carefully. My oldest son even helped and we used it as a great homeschool lesson in dishwasher mechanics! It's running through a full cycle now. Yay!

Thank you very much for such helpful video! You helped us to save so much money!
We have got this "oE" error. Called Samsung and did what they suggested. No result. Called to Samsung sub-contractors.The repairman from "Audio Video Repair", Pennsauken NJ charged us $90 for visit and diagnostics, said that a new sensor would cost about $190 and labor $160. He even suggested to change the mother-board and something else! We thought about all this expensive issue and decided that we better buy a new dishwasher tomorrow, but because you explained what to do, my husband was able to fix the problem! Appreciate your help,
    Inessa

Outstanding help. Watched video. Went back to it three times during repair. Pulled case brake sensor off and cleaned out with water pressure then air compressor blow gun. Was able to break up sediment/gunk and it came out under water pressure. Reinstalled and hoping for no leaks..... DW working fine after 2 weeks. Thanks Matt!!

Hi, I used your video to disassemble my airbrake and clean it. The problem was still there. I saw another video which gave me an idea. The hose attached to the sensor needs to be sucked out. (I used an inflatable toy pump in reverse. (Don't suck it.)) Blowing it in doesn't resolve the issue long term but the other video got his working that way in the short term.
I was able to get a ton of crud out and its working fine again. While thing took less than ten minutes.
Thank you for the video. I really appreciate the time you took to put it out there.

This was an amazing video that laid it all out there. I was able to clear the moldy residue that was preventing the sensors from working properly. I was surprised that the flow sensor does not "click" in. It is just a press fit, and a pretty loose one. I added a zip tie to make sure it doesn't come out. Just saved myself at least $100!! I hope that I don't have to do this every couple of years.

I've had the dreaded Samsung OE error quite a few times over the last couple of years and have become an "expert" at taking it out and cleaning it(even though I wish I didn't have to). Am starting to get the error again and was wondering if the new replacement parts are any better at preventing the gunk build up that causes the float to stick? Hate to purchase a new case sensor only for it to stick again after a couple months worth of use. Thank you for the updated video!

Great job showing how to get to the parts. A real time saver. It would be more helpful to show how to test the parts before just randomly spending money on parts to troubleshoot. The float switch is the actual float switch, Not a backup or safety. It's a critical component that works like an old fashioned tube water level. It uses photo-electric sensors to determine empty (bottom) or full (top). It's colored black to block the beam. Kinda like a garage door opener photo electric beam that stops travel. The 2 electrodes at the very top of the float switch are the failsafe. If water touched them, it shuts down. The flow sensor does not monitor the amount of fill. It only determines flow or no flow. For the most part, just cleaning up these parts with have you back up and running in no time.

Awesome fix, you guys rock! BTW, this makes the third Samsung appliance that has caused me to resort to CZcams for a fix. The first was a Samsung microwave (cooking steam entering the electronic controls area and causing a ribbon cable to corrode), second was a Samsung French door refrigerator (condensate drain freezing up), and now this. My opinion, Samsung should stick to smartphones and TVs and leave the appliances to companies that have been making them for a long time (Whirlpool, Frigidaire, etc.) All of these issues are Samsung design flaws.

The level detector uses photoelectric sensors that signal when the level float interrupts the beam between an LED IR source and a photo detector pair at the low and high levels. If the sensor fails then an oE error will be displayed. After verifying that the tube to the tub was clear, I ordered a replacement Case Sensor unit from Amazon for $33 which resolved the oE issue.

CAUTION: The water leaking out of these 4 hoses, when you disconnect the water wall, can be enough to trigger the leak detection sensor in the base pan. If so, the HEAVY light will keep blinking...see M L video "Samsung Dishwasher Heavy Blinking / Flashing Light Error" to resolve. Technique is simple, once you have the unit out - turn the unit on on its side, remove the base pan (2 screws, then unsnap), and dry with a paper towel, remove and dry the sensor (another 2 screws), then put it back together.
Otherwise this video is great - thanks!

When the water fills initially, the float inside my case brake sensor goes all the way to the top (past both of those tiny circuit boards with the sensors), and I get the "water supply error." What could be going wrong? That unit, and also the flow meter assembly (both of those pieces) are brand new as of two weeks ago. I have noticed that when it works normally, the float hovers in between the two circuit boards. It was doing so when I installed these two a couple of weeks ago. But not any longer. Now the float is going almost all the way to the top. What could be failing?

disconnect the wires on the right closest to the front of the dishwasher. the ones leading to the float chamber then start your dishwasher to rule out its that chaber causing the problem. if that chamber is the problem with the wires disconnected your dishwasher will run like normal. then u can either replace the part or TRY TO CLEAN IT OUT with a cleaning solution andd hot water. good luck

I had the Normal/Heavy/Smart Auto lights flashing on my Samsung DW7933LRASR/AA dishwasher. I saw your video above. Very helpful. The float in the the assembly case sensor was not rising with the water level. I removed the assembly case sensor, opened the top, cleaned the float and inside of sensor, put it all back together (with the float inserted upside down), and NOW THE FLOAT RISES WITH THE WATER LEVEL! I solved the problem and the Normal/Heavy/Smart Auto lights do not flash on anymore. However, I created a new problem. The dishwasher continues to repeat the wash cycle and never completes all cycles, and then shut off. No codes flash. Please help. I feel like I am so close to either fixing or throwing out this dishwasher.

I have a DMT800 Samsung Dishwasher That I have changed nearly every part on it and can honestly say they are complete pile of junk. The latest issue was the 9E error which indicates the Case Sensor issue, The unit would fill and then drain over and over again and would not start the wash cycle. I found a shortcut so that you don't have to pull unit out to repair all you do is spray fantastic or some other cleaner in the fill hole on inside left side of dishwasher make sure you spray in the hole pointing up this allows for some to cleaner to enter the case brake sensor assembly wait a couple hours some will run back out while spraying on fill hole. This will clean brake assembly freeing it up and stopping the 9e code error. Plug unit back in and start cycle as normal..da-da it's fixed.

I have a Samsung DW80F800UWS dishwasher. I keep getting the oE error code, but it does not happen before the wash cycle starts. The dishwasher fills and completes the wash cycle no problem. Then, either before the rinse cycle starts or during the rinse cycle, the cycle stops, the unit drains, and it shows the oE error. The rinse and dry cycle did not complete, because the dishes are still wet and somewhat slimy because the rinse aid is still on the dishes. Would this still be the air brake assembly? It's quite expensive for this model, so I don't want to replace it if it's not very likely it will fix the issue.
I already took out the air brake assembly, rinsed it out, checked for clogged lines, and disassembled and cleaned the screen and pump. There was some mildew in the air brake assembly that I could not get to clean because it does not come apart, but the impeller moved freely.

Buy some afresh dishwasher cleaner and run a pots and pans cycle to clean everything out. Also make sure you’re cleaning off your dishes before you place them in the dishwasher. Address help remove build up and keep your dishwasher clean. Sometime it’s not the machine but the user. Hope this helps.

I was getting error on SMASUNG Chef Edition Waterwall - this little sensor is an electronic version one and is not easily replacable - You have to replace the whole plastic unit. I was getting error 0C - just disconnected the damn thing and dishwasher suddenly started to work fine.

I have a Samsung DMT-400 dishwasher. Worked OK for a while and then I would get the following: I would set the wash cycle I want on keypad then shut the door. The cycle begins with a pump out then it begins to fill. It fills and then stops. It should begin washing at this point but instead of going into wash mode, the water that just filled gets pumped out and it blinks an error code with the "smart auto" light blinking. This video sounded like it should fix the problem. To cover all bases I ordered a new case break assembly as well as the control fill assembly with the float. Both parts brand new. After replacing both I still had the same problem as before. Unit pumps, fills, and then pumps out without going into wash cycle. Obviously neither of these two parts was the problem. The next thing I did was remove the filter and got down underneath and discovered that the check valve or check vane as it is called was missing. I ordered a new check vane thinking that surely this would fix the problem. I installed it and still the same problem. I called Samsung and they read me off some possible causes. I did not know that the water temperature could cause this problem so I made sure that was not the problem. The water pressure is in spec. ALL THE THINGS THEY TOLD ME TO CHECK I CHECKED AND NONE OF THEM IS FAULTY. I am at wits end. Every once in a while if I constantly try to set the machine to begin a cycle it might "catch" and advance to the wash cycle only to fault in the rinse cycle when it fills. I have cleaned the unit, the drain pipe is not clogged there is absolutely nothing I can see wrong. I covered every base. I am at wits end. I can only think that the control board is bad but that does not account for it working once in a great while. I once had a Samsung flat screen TV I don't think I watched it for more than 6 hours. It was a bedroom TV not used much at all. I tried fixing it like this dishwasher and gave up. I ended up throwing it in the dumpster !! I used to teach appliance repair and I can tell you that Samsung products are total junk. I would never buy another one ever again. I am still dealing with the dishwasher, I am going to check one more thing and if that does not pan out, this piece of shit is going in the dumpster too.

I have a model DW80F600. Was having same problem fill for a few seconds, about 3 cups worth of water, then drain.Over and over. My case break is one piece, no float. Took the case break out and rinsed with soapy water. There appeared to be no build up or dark spots in the plastic casing but rinsed anyway. Re-installed, same problem. I disconnected the plug that went to the water level monitor on the case break and started washer. I wasn't sure how much it would fill. It filled appropriately and stopped filling
and wash mode started. Seems to be running fine with the water level unplugged. Running through the cycle as I type. See what happens. Any comments on what I did please..

Samsung should stick to tvs.. Water supply over engineered.
Samsung cleaning engine under engineered. The design sends unfiltered water into the wands.
Pathetic. Never again samsung. I'll stick an american brand.
