Can’t compare this to any other cultures music with how it makes you want to bop around. Beyond incredible. Goosebump inducing. Ireland is just magic 🇮🇪 imagine the whole village jamming back 200 years ago with this going in the pub.. wow. Best culture ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Well there wouldn't have been a bodhran - mainly used from the 1950s, There wouldn't have been a bouzouki - introduced to the music in the 1960s. The Uilleann pipes would have been quieter and lower flat set - the D concert set Blackie is playing was invented in the late 19th century mainly for playing on the stage in the USA. So yeah, maybe one bloke on a fiddle.
My partner and I had a lock-in in our most recent trip. I’m Australian and she’s Irish. The lock-in was such an eye opener. Next time I’ll come prepared for some songs that we sing at home solo alone. I love your culture that you’re so proud of your heritage to sing such amazing songs that describe your heritage and struggles. Looking forward to my next trip to Doolan.
Gave me chills and thrills without even being there. That's just incredible. Seeing and hearing that in person must have been immense fun. Thanks for sharing!
I visited Ireland during a music festival in and around Ennis , the tavern jigs were stellar, not unlike this one. I remember the beautiful fiddler approached me outside and asked if I knew her but i was American and daft to the local lingo and she stormed off at my retarded response and I became mates with an old london Irishman named John who let me crash at his place who shared Tales, fucking lovely place, I recommend Ireland to everyone, especially those with ancestral roots and a love for the greatest music
Fantastic music, fabulous setting. So joyful! Nothing beats an Irish Pub when the music and beer are flowing. Brings out the Druid in me. Wont miss McGann's next trip to Doolin.
@@sarahohara3125 whole thing is great but every time i come back i get hypnotized around the 4:10 mark. apparently the bodhran player likes hats? who would've thought, huh? celebrities, they're just like us
I was there for only one night myself. The effect of being there for such a short time lent it an even more magical quality. It remained a singular moment - like a dream - unpoiled by trying to make it last by going back again and again. Although, I get the feeling that if I do go back, it will be just the same as it was that night.
@@sarahohara3125 It felt like a dream to me too! The flow of the evening had a really magical uplifting quality to it. For a short while time simply disappeared and there was only joy and awe :)
We loved Doolin so much we spent 4 nights there. It was as great a time we had in our three weeks in Ireland. We met piper Eoin Duignan there... and a nice young couple whose names were Sean and Gronia.
It really is a lovely place. The people were so kind and welcoming that it felt like home even though I'd never been there before. Absolutely would love to go back.

8 days a week in this lil town. Lived there in 2004; all three pubs radiated the incredible talent and joy of the musicians each nite. it was absolutely lovely
Summer time in Miltown in west Clare. Fly into Shannon Airport. Do the Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands, Doolin, Lehinch, go to the Willie Clancy festival in Miltown Malbay. . One night in Ennis, one night Bunratty castle fly home and you'll have the best week of your life.
