I thought it was an exploit at first then realized the strategic placement of hanging vines and the hummingbirds meant you couldn't use that method in certain areas. Seemingly on purpose.
this is absolutely on purpose and there is even something that makes it a lot easier later. so yeah not an exploit. also this would be really easy to fix if it was actually a bug/exploit.
@@anthonyhovens7488 this technique in particular isn't needed anywhere because of something else you get later. (and no you don't need to tp to get it)
Not really an exploit, as it's clearly intended and required throughout the game. I'm currently playing through it, and the game is really good at nudging you towards intended solutions that "feel" like clever exploits, but are actually fully intended, and make you go "aha!" when you see it actually works.
This could be an intended feature, but even so, there are multiple puzzles in the game that can be cheesed with this, making it a useful exploit in that regard.
Honestly, there wasn’t ever a section it felt NECESSARY, but more just helpful Even the ummm “other stuff” you can do once you get the better one. (I’m keeping it vague to avoid spoilers)
@@WyvrnOnYTAlso not really. It is fully intended even for areas that you think are cheesed by it. The game has a speed running mechanic that’s facilitated by the bubbles allowing for faster solutions.
@@thespeedyyoshithere are literally entire sections of the game where you not only need to jump from bubble to bubble, spaces are so narrow you need to place a bubble right underneath you to boost yourself up. you could you the frisbee in this instance but you would just call it an exploit too

It's an intended game mechanic and the creator designed the whole game with it in mind. It's not an all powerful technique to bypass every room in the game.
The bubble wand is for spawning a bubble to use as jumping support. That doesn't mean chaining bubbles isn't broken, because it is. Multiple moments in the game can be cheesed using this, regardless of whether or not it's intentional or not, so yes, I would refer to it as an exploit.
@@WyvrnOnYTbro thats like the dumbest hill to die on. it’s a necessary mechanic to explore the whole game. the game acknowledges this and use those plants and the bird to counter this mechanic of being used everywhere
The reason why the hummingbird exists in some levels is so that you don’t use the bubbles in those areas, every other area the bubbles are intended. The alt paths are there just in case you find the wand later
I figured this out immediately after getting the wand, I assumed this was the intended way to use the thing. It might skip a few simple platforming rooms but none of the major puzzles can be skipped with it
The easiest way is actually to jump and hit the button slightly after, you land on top of the bubble. You can also hold down while jumping and throw a bubble out at the apex to go higher if you're trying to go straight up and dont have any wiggle room. Your method is good too if you're worried about hitting a bubble on something.
I press jump and bubble at the exact same time and it works like a charm every time. Much easier than rolling your thumb repeatedly from bubble to jump
Despite being a OG Metroid Bomb Jump veteran, I started as an "X before A" jumper. It's safe, but not as quick. If you can adapt the "A before X" technique, it's riskier but also you get higher, faster. Not really an exploit, more of a high skill-ceiling game mechanic.
Not an exploit as it's an intended mechanic. As you play through the game you'll realize the developer intentionally hampers this technique for many of the puzzles.
The developer restricted its use in some puzzles by placing vines or a hummingbird. This mechanic is a god send when you try to finish the game under 90 minutes.
In terms of indie games it's a bit on the expensive side, at $25, but if you'd like to hear a brief 60 second review of the game, I made one on our second channel czcams.com/video/sSqOtH95g04/video.htmlsi=8BmaV1IsPCwSsPm7
Short answer: YES!! Long review that nobody asked for: It's a metroidvania that's primarily focused on puzzles, in addition to lots of exploration and finding secrets. There's arguably no combat in the game, as enemies are usually more like hazards to avoid or parts of puzzles. Many of the puzzles involve finding clever ways of using the tools available to you, like the bubble thing shown in this short, and these can feel super rewarding to figure out! The game is also loaded with hidden secrets that test your attention to little detail. If something in the map looks like a secret, it most likely is. The world has an often unsettling but mysterious atmosphere. Downsides: * Backtracking and figuring out where to go next (but, then again, isn't that what exploration is?) * After dying, it can sometimes be tedious walking all the way back from the last save point just to die the same way again and have to repeat... * No real plot, from what I can tell * There are a few points in the game that involve a somewhat tedious number of those bubble jumps and the repeated button inputs can start to get uncomfortable for the worst offenders. One is BY FAR the worst and definitely feels like the devs were going out of there way to troll the player. I legit said something like "WTF, devs?!!! What made you think this was a good idea?!!!" when I saw it. * [Random minor grievance that contains a spoiler] I don't understand what eventually allowed me to take the disk without getting chased by the cat spirit anymore, and that annoys me... But still, strong 10/10! (Granted, from someone who rarely plays video games nowadays, so take that as you will.)
This is an intended mechanic lol
Same 😂
The feature in of itself is intended, but it can be exploited to cheese certain areas, making it an exploit

Wait till he figures out the exploit that lets you teleport with a bubble and a ledge.

That and the vines! They serve the same purpose in some rooms, preventing you from progressing with bubbles by popping them.
it's intentional, there are a lot of secrets that are only possible to find with this
For real.like there is so many giant areas that wouldn’t be possible to cross without the bubble wand.
The only gadget that comes close is the frisbee because you can travel far but that only lets you travel across not necessarily straight up.

There is an Upgrade for this later in the game that makes this munch easier, so it is intendet, because you could do the same thing later on so or so.

Hey youtube! Do not recommend this channel.
You don't have to jump right before you use the bubble power. you can just do both at the same time and it works just fine👍
