The Indian Forest Service is one of the three All India Services of the Government of India. The other two civil services are the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service. To get into IFS, a candidate has to sit for the same preliminary exam as civil service aspirants do.
The Indian Forest Service (IFS) is one of the three All India Services, the other two being the Indian Administrative Service & the Indian Police Service. IFS was created in 1966 under the All India Services Act 1951. However, this was only a revival of a well-organized Indian Forest Service which existed during the British Raj from 1865 to 1935.

Can an MBBS doctor also become Indian Forest Service officer ? In the eligibility criteria this degree is not mentioned anywhere. Can someone help with this query ?
