@@shayarrobin6342 govt still didn't published any official notification regarding this, this practice has been created by coaching wallas so that the indian glamorous service can retain its abbreviation as ifs.But unfortunately dopt and upsc have used ifos as abbreviation sometimes without any official communication. Ifs(forest) is known by their cadres where as ifs(foreign) dont have any cadre, forest service are a part of all India service (AIS) where as foreign service are central service. Anyways ifs was known as imperial forest service during older times , so forest service should be known as ifs, let Indian glamorous service should be known as ifos.
@@kk-us4md no ...it is not correct....you check the notification pdf published by UPSC regarding the vacancies and exam details ...it is clearly written as IFoS..!! Not even IFS (AIS)..!!

@@DeepDive2255 that's what I m saying upsc and dopt are using this abbreviation as ifos without any official communique, moefcc still uses ifs, all state govts use ifs, Gazette of India still uses ifs for forest, when pib will make any announcement on change of abbreviation via moefcc then it will be accepted, until then let upsc and dopt call these abbreviation.And if u think ifs forest is not AIS then go and study laxmikant
