Pure nostalgia. My mom used to drive a cosmic grey padmini in 1995-2002, in Goa. I had amazing trips in this car.

Memories come back. Those wrinkles on bonnet while pressing in 1000 ton hydraulic double acting press,those rejected by quality dept.
Repairing the die for proper bonnet quality.
This was 1 example.

I have been using a 1986 make Padmini. It was bought by my father in law at Rs 1,03,000. Waiting period 1 month after full payment. I enjoy maintenance this car. Going to market to find parts us really fun for me.
Really a beauty. Just feast for the eyes for any automobile enthusiast. Just the chrome bits on the front & rear windshields are missing. Had one in our household, PREMIER PADMINI, DELUXE BE, some 33 years ago. Learnt how to drive, on that pristine beauty.

Learnt driving on this one and one thing I must tell you the aroma of the cabin of Fiat is something no other cars can match. The classic ignition sound is always at its par.
In 1 word PAL's Padmini will always be the queen.
My father bought a new premier padmini sky blue colour in 1986 and we owned it till 2001. I remember the car was sold to sardarji he came all the way from punjab and drove it back and he enjoyed the drive.
I did learn to drive on this car when in class 10 th in the year 2001.

We drove from Chandigarh to Simla in a Padmini belonging to my uncle. Thanks for bringing that mushy feeling
My father had this car since before I was born. He was very proud of it. He sold it a few years ago. I don't really have very good relations with him currently but I wish to get his old car back and restore it for him one day.
I am sure that opportunity will happen as there are so many available albeit in bad shape. Restoring is a game of patience and tests your character. Your restoration is awesome. It looks like a brand new car. Watching your video reminded me of the times we had a fiat car. My dad use to have one fiat Padmini 1987 model and its number was KBV 6400 and it was exactly of the same colour as yours;white. My parents got married in this car and it was a prize possession. As a kid we use to go to drives to puri in odisha. Many times my dad use to drop me school by the padmini. I still remember its iconic sound and the handgear. It was with us for 20 years until 2007. Since the colour of your car was the same as ours, all the memories came back sharply

Absolutely beautiful restoration.
We bought one in 1987, second hand. It has been superbly maintained. We absolutely loved it. Registration number RRM 5826.
My father gave it away in 2003 since maintaining two cars was difficult.
We once met our live in maids family (we were in govt housing) 10 years later. One of the things they mentioned was how much their kids loved playing around this car. By that time we also had a Maruti Zen, but even for them this car was the one that was loved more.
The place you live is so beautiful. So clean, spacious, well maintained. It should be inspiration to Swach Bharat.

@@BhopaliTales Yes, Restoration is a job of fools. I bought a 2004 Fiat Palio. It completed 15 years 3 years ago. I'm still maintaining it. Most mechanics gave up servicing it since it sits in the garage while spare parts are being procured. Any minor thing costs around 10000 or more. Bigger ones like engine or transmission work costs 30000. Already two such events occurred in the last 3 years. But whenever I sit in the car it runs so peacefully and beautifully.

My Dad loves just one car - FIAT.But I loved Ambassador.He bought a 91 model and now its fit for scrap.Since 10 years me and my Mom were pestering him to sell off.But he remained firm since 10 years and would say it would go for repair the next month.That month never came.Finally he has decided to give it for scrap and we were relieved just last week.BUT after seeing Your video I realized my blunder and have decided to restore my Dad's dream at any cost.Thank You for the emotion.God bless You ❤

My grandfather had one 1980 original fiat 1100
This car is really made to last for a long
The only investment which my grandfather made in her was changing engine oil, gear oil , differential oil and some minor oiling and greasing during servicing
And she was running like new until 2000 when we sold it

The Fiat has so many memories attached its just amazing, the fact that I could take you back in time and remember that "My folks had one in the early 70's. I also have lovely memories associated with the Fiat" made my day and my effort priceless.
This car always seems to touch a cord which was lost but the connection always remained. It tends to bring back those old and happy memories. Some part of everyone is attached to this car. The white walled tyres is something that I added for that old retro look. They do give it more character
