That electrical is GANGSTER
I remember you said once that watching everyone else's videos; you feel like they're always working on newer stuff, or replacing, whereas you're always trying to revive the dead. I agree. I've never seen anything like whatever halfway attempted leak repair that was on that cap. That along with the missing Schrader, and the 16 year old defrost clock... I swear.... You come across some of the most horrendous crap! But I must admit.... you are always able to strike a great balance between repairing what can be, and insisting on replacement when thats what REALLY needs to happen. And your experience gives you some next level McGuyver type skills. I love how you're able to creatively engineer and fabricate whatever is needed. Many people have learned alot from your videos; keep 'em comin'.
I try my best, thanks for paying attention to the small details.👍👍
Man this was a great video. I strive to be as through as you and Chris. You guys are awesome af. There is a special place for you guys in HVAC heaven. You truly help the new guys that love the trade and are trying to be better.
Sherwin that is so nice of you to say, it means a lot!
nice video, yes it looks like maybe that valve had been overheated, I am surprised it hadnt leaked before now. I was like you I hated call backs, usually call backs were freebees unless it was something that happened, I had nothing to do with even then it was hard to justify charging the customer for a call back unless it was something major. You are a great trouble shooter.
Thank you sir!
not too shabby, good job great info thanks.
I try 😉. I got to keep the lurkers working😆🤣😁
Nice 📹.! Leak detector looks pretty cool. Thanks for sharing 👍
Good work as always she was a leaker glad you got them up and going
Thanks for the support, I appreciate it👍👍
Nice video and find!!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the support!
Very nice work great video
Thanks Mr. Green 👍👍 I appreciate the support!
Good little vid Rick ...
Thanks for checking it out. This took all day to edit for some reason🤦♂️.
Fantastic video Rick! So well done! Too many great things in here to mention! I always wondered exactly what I would do if I ever came across a completely drained system, this was in my very limited opinion just a perfect process. I learned so much. Fantastic job, thanks!!!!!!
What part of hvacr do you specialize in if you don't mind me asking? I'm always curious what my viewers background consist of 👍👍
@@HVACRSurvival Currently I'm just doing residential and I enjoy that, but I'm hoping to get into the commercial side at some point. It seems to really interest me the most, I love trouble-shooting and there's so much more of it to do it seems in commercial.
Second, I second that!
How about crushing/squishing the pipe before using the angle grinder? Just a thought that should stop any shavings from going further than you pipe cut later.
Edit: "pinching" was the word I was looking for ;)
Hand snips work to, I just wanted to use my new tool to justify buying it 😄
I have the older model used if 3 times never worked and it’s brand new
nice video man
Thanks bud, I appreciate that👍👍
**whoops** at not pulling disconnect first, someone else just did that not long ago in a video too. lol
Shit happens, I left it in the video as a reminder 4 others. It wasn't the first time I forgot about the pressure switch.
Thank god its not running ... you may had to go chase it ....lol
😂👍👍
I have gear envy. Man those are some nice tools you got...no homo. Lol
I carry a can of rust reformer paint with me and whenever I see paint has faded and rust started to take hold I wipe the piece down and spray it... Not too much work and can is only 4 or 5 bucks US so not a big deal financially.. And it may benefit you if you get called back one day and you're having to remove a rusted out piece that won't budge.. Or getting your tools all full of rust when you're working.
Thumbs Up !
Graduate residential service school in less then a month. Cant wait to start commercial.
I remember when I finally got out on my own, it's amazing to get paid when you been doing it at school for free. Congrats man 👍👍
Congrats to you buddy and pay attention to the details when you're working.. Take lots of pictures so that in case you draw a blank one day from information overload you will have a reference point.. Don't trust your memory too much.
I did the same thing on leak search the other day.. forgot to turn off unit lol
It's easy to miss up when you're always doing something new every call and you get in a hurry. Thanks 4 watching👍
Nice lesson 👍
I appreciate your kind words 👍👍
@@HVACRSurvival can u talk more about temperature inside walk ins coolers and freezers. Example like if u get the suction pressure a certain pressure. Then the evap temp would be here. To make the walk in food section temp here. this would apply to this gas. 404 or 134 etc. Also safe head pressures and temps. . Hope I don't sound confused. But I'm new to commercial refrigeration. I'm more residential appliances. Thanks
@@Indianatrucrimestories are you talking about how a EPR controls the temperature of a case and typical TD of evaps?
@@HVACRSurvival yes. I did purchase the commercial refrigeration book by dick . Yes the epr controls. I'm assuming these control help u achieve the satisfied temp. In freezers and coolers.
@@HVACRSurvival I'm a beginner I'm probably confusing u . I'll read the book. I'm sure it would get me where I wanna be. Thanks.
It’s a beer cap someone drink 🍺 and left the Cap in it 😂👍👍👍
That might explain the disconnect box 😖. Bye Joe I think you nailed it 🍺👍👍🤣
must be a trailer park, swimming place or similar seasonal park.
** and I didn;' think about "ice cream places" DOH
Mans gettin hooked up by Inficon and dat , noooice !
I would have just added one thing : I'd write " Schrader in " next to the port so the next guy knows he doesn't have to recover the charge.
Good one Rick, nice bag too .
Man , Veto should really start hooking you guys up innit .
Look at the blue writing at the top right corner🤣👍👍
Dammit the one time I try to be smart and add my 2 cents !😅 My bad mate 🤜🤛
@@sterlingarcher46 It's all good man, your thinking like me, mission accomplished👍👍🤣🤣
Veto didn't reply to my emails so I didn't get any discount on the bag 😏
That disconnect lol
I have seen the Amish doing wiring at this location...No, I'm not kidding.
Another awesome video Rick !
Thanks T-Bear👍👍🤜🤛
👍👍👍
I’ve never seen a swedging tool like what you were using! Is that what it is? If it is where did you get that ? That was cool. I would like to have one like it.
Here is a link to one on amazon if you want to help support the channel. amzn.to/3uFnNbd
What’s the Milwaukee chingas hanging on your bag?
700 lumen Milwaukee light.
One other quesiton: How do you swap from your Blue vac hoses to your manifold charging hoses after your vacuum is complete? Thanks.
Correct. I use my valve core tools to isolate and then connect the manifold, purge the manifold up to the valve core tools then recharge. Good question👍👍
@@HVACRSurvival BAM. Thank you!
Your welcome👍👍
first, great video
My hero🥰🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍
Rick which veto bag was that?
Tec Pac MC BLACKOUT
ah the Pennsylvania speak figured you were from that area
NW Ohio
@@HVACRSurvival didn't know the language went that far west
People move around😁
@@HVACRSurvival 😉
Ok
I think the green is dye in the system so someone could find the leak
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I didn't get any dye when I disconnected my hoses and its kind of weird that the cap was also green.
great one rick she is a leaker
Yes she was! LoL
Ok Rick, just because Urban Dictionary defines "worsh" doesn't mean it's a real word lol. In all honesty, good video!
It was on the internet so it had to be true😂😂
The funny thing is that my grandmother says ”worsh” as well. She’s a native western Kansan. So she has always said, “can you load the dishworsher” for all my life.
@@HVACRSurvival and here i always thought if was your regional accent so i let it go. Obviously the CZcams police doesn't, huh. Love your videos Rick.
My area of Ohio has a rich history of a mix of immigrants with 60% German followed by United Kingdom followed by Switzerland and France. I have a feeling there was some twisted language involved here mixed with some hillbilly and Detroit slang then you've got what I got 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@HVACRSurvival it’s got to be the german part of it since my grandmother is like 2nd generation german.
at 3:27 you said “the sight glass still looks green, which is good.”
What does that tell you?
I’ve been doin resi hvac for a few years but just started refer so i’m a bit unfamiliar
The sight glass has a moisture indicator; green is dry and yellow is wet.
Sorry, I never seen your comment. The response from Jon is correct.
motion adopted ! i was a great video 😃
Thanks man, I spent all day editing it🤣 then it took CZcams 3 hours to approve it for ads 🤦♂️
Nah all those discharge valves leak. Cheaply made. Can’t take the heat.
That's why I went in doubt you cut it out 😁👍👍
@@HVACRSurvival downside is. You’ll have to recover the gas to change the comp...
@@zekemontgomery6678 if the compressor has gone bad would you really reuse the refrigerant? Hell no. That stuff is contaminated.
@@HVACRSurvival All depends how it failed
What's the purpose of that king valve in that location?
Isolate the compressor for a change out is my best suggestion. I would normally replace the refrigerant if the compressors bad unless it's just a valve issue.
@@HVACRSurvival thank you! Man, you’re up early. Have a great day, sir.
@@karizmatic5 It's 08:02 right now on the east side.😁
@@HVACRSurvival oh hell, then it’s me that’s up so early.
@@karizmatic5 😅🤣👍

How long this work take
Maybe 2 hours? I don't know it's been several months and we include our drive time so when I see the time it includes driving there and back. Is there a reason you ask?
@@HVACRSurvival That's a lot of work, fast! Good job. Definitely a wonderful trade.

i like those tool cases that look kool but after you pull out the geaR YOU CANT GET IT BACK IN!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGHH
That's why I'm trying to keep it as empty as possible. (One less tool to lose) and it already weighs 30 lb the way you see it. I've been trying to get smaller than I just went larger thinking if it's on my back I won't feel as heavy. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Why would you put some gas into the system knowing there is a leak? Just add nitrogen first and check for leaks....
Do you have a leak detector that goes off on nitrogen? All of mine need a trace gas of refrigerant or I'll need to use the ultrasonic.
@@HVACRSurvival no i use leak spray or soapy water like your supposed to here in ireland anyway...
@@1989Chrisc what do you do when the leak is in the coil where the soap doesn't show up unless its large?
that’s not a ground on your cheater.
🤷♂️ Life is a calculated risk. For a temporary power source It's as close to a ground as I can get.
Waste of 400$
