@@sthetixofficial hey need a clarification pls - so I created the emuMMC with my Nintendo account logged in & I have saved data for many games, my emuMMC always has wifi on, so it is ok to continue using Nintendo linked account? or better create a new user and unlink my main account
@DeepakCG for the emummc, it is better to have an offline account. You can use Linkalho to convert your current profile to offline. and you can connect it to the internet safely (as long as you are using the hats pack)

Thankfully this video now exists. I installed tinfoil in sysMMC (and got corrupted anyway), so I did a NAND restore since I had backed up the NAND and stuff before doing anything else

Thanks so much for this video. It really explains the nuances between the different options available under the Launch button.
At the 16:40 mark, under the "Red Universe" tag, bullet 3: What does that mean? If the two universes are separate, does it matter what kind of profile I use? How do I create an "offline" profile?
you just create a profile without connecting it or linking it with the Nintendo server. If you use an online profile on the emummc, then at some point, it will ask you to connect to them and you cannot use your profile. - remember the emuMMC is protected from connecting to the nintendo server.
@@sthetixofficial Well, before I had modded my Switch, my profile on the SYSMMC was connected over to my Nintendo ID. So, I guess, when I made the EMUMMC universe, it copied the profile as well, and now, on the EMUMMC, it cannot connect. Is there a problem with this on the EMUMMC?
The only disadvantage that I can think of is when I launch CFW SYSMMC: will my online profile have any data that it can exchange with Nintendo? Will just deleting this profile before I ever run CFW SYSMMC prevent a ban?

My question is, is it still safe for me to run my OFW and install all my legit games online and play online as well?

safe or not safe, depends on your console usage. Do not install pirated games , run tinfoil, run cheats on the sysmmc or you will get banned.

If you setup manual DNS settings in CFW to block Nintendo servers will it carry over to OFW also? Or will OFW stay seperate and on Automatic still?
it does not. the world is still the same but it us not rooted therefore dns blocking doesn't work. ofw = sysmmc = semi stock, same world. please learn the concept from the video
So your hats package already blocks Nintendo servers on EMuMMC automatically with the blank serial number correct?

It would be great if the 'reboot to OFW' option could be triggered via a launch menu tile.
I think this would look much better and would be far more user friendly.
I've asked the developer to add that option but he and the community ignored it

Could I get banned when I play a legitimate game on SYSMMC online only with an overclock ?
I just need a little clarification. In the Blue universe, it's perfectly fine to connect to the eShop, buy, download, and install purchased games, right? And how far does "Don't use cheats for popular games" go? My assumption is for online play, but does it include mods for single-player games?
you can play legit games or connect your nintendo account on the blue universe. but don't use cheats for online only game or popular game like pokemon maybe. for better information, I think it is best to find it on gbatemp or reddit.
Can you explain the difference between semi-stock and stock? I read the text inside the red box, googled the terms but i'm still hella confused. What is kernel patching? what are cfw kips? what is exosphere? what is warmboot? Can you explain as if i was a 5 year old?
I've explained it in the video. the thing is, you can use the semi stock for a common and specific reason.

Hi @sthetix Do you know the issue when I turn on the OLED, it will display a Picofly and battery logo with written: Failed to init SD Card! ? I tried multiple micro SD already and same result. Maybe 3 out of 10 boots, it will show this error.
your sd card is not compatible, please try other brands.

you can edit the hekate_ipl.ini file inside the bootloader folder with a notepad.. and delete the unwanted lines
After updating I am now on 17.0.1. I don't see the semi stock option anymore on Launch menu of Hekate. My fuse doesnt match. Do I have to wait for the latest release of HATS (18.0) before fixing this issue since the latest ofw is 18.0???
it is the hats pack that affect the icons on that hekate screen.please download a new one from codeberg.org/sthetix/HATS/releases

@@sthetixofficial I found the solution. The problem was that i had Auto RCM enabled.
Some silly question: mine is v1 (RCM capable Erista), wanting to upgrade the sysnand to 18, but I want to keep 17.0.1 on emunand.
Is it doable?
Update: experimentation has been done. Note: This is for v1 RCM, chipped units must physically power off the chip until atmo update (IDK how)
Hekate, still fine. Just... DON'T launch anything related to SYSNAND from hekate. You get error of unknown HOS version. Which means, no OC on SYSNAND CFW until update on atmo.
EMUNAND, fine, version 17.0.1 still.
SYSNAND version 18.0.0.

I wouldn't call using emunand on a banned console useless if you have a soldered bga emmc on oled or lite they have a lifespan and it's easier to swap a sd card then it is to replace the emmc so I would still use it.
I would like to know if instinct v6s and picofly can work with a new emmc chip incase I ever need to replace my oled emmc. hwfly has been used with new chips with blank boot0 boot1 also to fix purple screen from corroupt emmc not much info on instinct or pico
It does work with several emmc brands, but to be honest, you better have samsung brand
Thank you So if I buy a switch 64gb Samsung emmc from aliexpress it should have the 4mb boot0 boot1 empty partitions and instinct nx is able to boot into hekate with blank boot partitions like with hwfly?
no it will be blank. you need to copy the emmc content from your console to your new emmc chip.. please watch how I did it in the past using the ufi box
@sthetixofficial I have seen it but also read hwfly and pico will work with a blank emmc aslong as it has the boot partitions even if they have no data or corrupt it boots hekate then we just restore from a backup of boot0 boot1 and raw not sure if instinct nx will work the same that's why I asked as the cost of a ufi isn't worth it for one emmc chip replacement
This was from rehius on picofly and with the hwfly custom nx fw 0.7.2 it's the same but no info on instinct nx

Yes, it will boot hekate, but you cannot launch anything else. The blank card doesnt have the boot partition, you need to copy it from yout existing emmc chip.

It depends on your console. All unpatched V1 dont need soldering unless you want to add a modchip into the console
