Last week I made a conscious effort to not use social media as a sort of vacation for my mind because I noticed that I was religiously checking my phone, ever since we began social-distancing.
So, in an effort to curb that habit to check my phone every few minutes, I locked my social media apps and took a week off of social media to not only help with my mental health (because I kept comparing myself to others and digging myself into a toxic mindset) but to also to read more books because, if I'm going offline for a week, I'm sure I'll be able to read a ton of books with my newfound spare time. Hope you enjoy this reading vlog of an entire week of my life!

@@StoriesForCoffee I am surprised mine is still alive. My wife bought it home from her school when the year ended and no one wanted to take care of it. So, she gets water once a week and plenty of sunlight.
Personally, I'm succeeding in cutting down my phone usage by doing other thungs. Especially, reading and so far, it's going good because my tbr pile is now small. Now this video along with Ariel's inspired me to continue so!

I recently read Queenie myself, and it's probably one of the best books I have read this year. I was surprised by how much I related to Queenie as a character. I definitely loved how the book ended and want to read more from Candice Carty-Williams! Your challenge to limit your social media usage really is a good one, especially now when so much of our interactions are on social media. I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

That's a goal for me this month is to get off social media more so I can read more. So love this goal. I ordered the Great Gatsby graphic novel so I'm excited to get it since its one of my favorite books.

I just realized I spent too much time on social media rather than focusing on other things I might need to do such as finishing my readings and writings.
Well, for me stuff like Tweeter or Instagram are also important to keep in touch with readers though... but sometimes it feels good to put away your phone.

The angels game I finished it in 2 days because it was soooo gooooood 😩❤️
I only use CZcams constantly by having background ambience like rain background or library background noise to help concentrate when reading, so yeah 6 hours with CZcams is a lot but those 6 hours was beneficial for me so the numbers don’t always mean a lot or is bad

I'm usually just on CZcams or checking emails and stuff but I do a thing that I read as much as I can, and when I'm tired I go on yt for a bit or do some other things. So yeah.

I have a translated work recommendation! Its called At the Wolf's Table by Rosella Postorino, it's translated from italian. Its about this girl who gets chosen to be Hitler's taste tester after her husband enters the war and just goes through her experience during WWII and with the other women in her group! The writing is BEAUTIFUL and very very well translated :)

Yes! I bought it from an antique store and it runs amazingly (besides the A key occasionally getting stuck because it needs to be cleaned). It’s not electric, so you do have to type slower, but I adore it!
