Funny that she's the opposite from most women who buys birkin bags as a symbol of status, luxury and wealth. She's humble, natural, far from pretentious, she was just amazing and iconic.

To lose a child cuts deeply and never heals completely. The parent who adored that child will never again know true happiness. I know. I lost my beloved daughter through a freak accident almost 5 years ago. Not long after I lost my dad and lost dad not long after my mother. I'm 70 now and the tears still come sometimes.

She was my neighbor when I lived in Paris and St. Germain DePres. I talked to her often cause she had a dog but didn’t know who she was. It was a nice surprise to hear later she was famous yet so friendly to people.
We love her so much in France. Last year, she was still touring and singing in France with full booked shows. Tu nous manqueras Jane.

She also acted in a lot of French comedies and was a lot of fun. I liked this woman very much. I think, all French people did. She was beautiful, fun, intelligent, humble and kind. May she rest in peace.

Mason's humanity is his superpower. The way he moved from discussing one daughter's suicide to her other daughters was masterful in that it didn't feel like a misdirection or part of his job, but something a good person would do for someone who needed it.

The media covered more about her life and relationships in France and her Birkin Bag invention. They forget she was also an integral part of Swinging Sixties London and was connected to the Beatles. George Harrison (RIP) scored the soundtrack to Jane's film Wonderwall.
She lived life to the max. Couldn't have asked for or done anymore than she did. And the circle of life goes on.

I found out about Serge Gainsbourg while I was in France in 91 when his death made headlines, major media coverage and of course found out about Jane Birken, Romie Sneider as well. I knew those songs, but didn't make the connection. What a life. It's great to see that her death and life was covered in America. Iconic songs, iconic family. I didn't know about her daughter. Rest in peace.

I was shocked that American mainstream media has covered Jane birkin and her relationship, her music. I still love the song Je'taine today. I had her song on my old PC, her daughter Charlotte French CD, watched the biopic about Serge Gainsberg made in the early 2000. They are both legends.

JANE BIRKIN "the dream in the drawer" and in the THOUGHTS of all the boys of that time: her very sweet and sensual voice given to us when in 1969 she imprinted on vinyl the few phrases of the song JE T'AIME ... she made the world fall in love whole and not just the male one. She had CHARM and possessed a NIGHTMARE BEAUTY!!! She was also a successful woman in the arts for a good decade. I sincerely hope to be able to meet her BEAUTIFUL and HAPPY again in her new home and sing with her and endlessly a hymn that will vehemently make all the souls of heaven gasp: “JE T’AIME”…!!! 💔❤

Ive been a huge fan of Jane since I was in my tweens I always admired her bubbly and outgoing personality. It really breaks my heart that she felt that she lost her confidence after her daughter passed. Even her zodiac sign excudes a natural confidence from another pair of lenses. It really shows that the pain of losing a child forever sticks with you. I can’t even imagine the whole world knowing about it and consistently asking questions regarding such an emotional wound.
