Mo's hair stealing the show, though! 😂
Joking aside, will try it. I'm aiming to get my half-marathon PB sub 2hrs. 💪🏻
I believe runners see the biggest improvement when they learn and start taking advice from others. The tried and tested methods fundamentally work
I love the diversity of runners in all the videos, especially since i've been watching y'all from the beginning of my running journey. Seeing my progress represented by different runners is so cool. I had a "memory" pop up on running 3 miles a year ago and my time was roughly 32:00, and just this past monday my 3 mile time at an easier pace was roughly 25:00. My best time so far is 21:56 and my goal is to get as close to 18:00 as possible. Thank you all for the lovely videos and tips!!
Beast. You just ran 3 back to back sub 20 5ks as a training run. Love the workout, although it'll be a while before I can give it a try.
Damn, that hadn't registered ... oh my poor knees and my 28 min 5k PB
With 5k warm up and cool down probably faster than my flat out!
5x’s per week for me.
A tempo run
Interval session
Long run
2 somewhat easy runs about half in zone 3 and half in zone 4.
Not in this order.
I usually do the intervals at the beginning of the week to get that 💩 done. I hate and love intervals. I hate doing them, but I love when they are done.
I loved this video. You can really tell how hard Mo works. I'm a beginner runner and although I love the average runner content, it's really inspiring to see someone more experienced smash out a session like this.
Not sure how long you’ve been following but mom started out slower. These leaves came from years of training.
@@missbutts85 I jump backwards and forwards at the moment through their content but the algorithm tends to give me Sarah (who I love!) but I'll have to go back and watch some Mo content. I watched his sub 3 hour marathon this morning coincidentally. He's so inspiring
Thanks for including both km and miles! ❤
Heavy session. Definitely adding that to the long run workout rotation
Brilliant video, always top quality from the team
Loved this ....as in everyone of your videos where Running Channel Runners are actually out running, whether a race or training makes me want to "get to it"....and loved Mo's quote at the end "Finish Strong" ..I always try to remember to tell myself that✨
Great video, with so much information talking about threshold pace this one really keeeps it simple. Well done guys 🙂
20 20 20 is hands down one of the best sessions there is. Very adaptable and really hits hard if done right ✅️
That's a really great way to train. Thanks for sharing. Your videos are always so inspiring.
So glad you enjoyed it! Will you try it?
Dang. It's humbling to watch even MO get tired! How'd he do that AND hold his composure?! Inspirational!
yes mo lad! already know youre gonna smash your pb!
Interesting video! Mo will definitely hit his half marathon goal!
I will definitely will give this one a try. 💪🏻 thank you for always showing new workout ideas. 🙏 i hope it will help me to run a new pr in september in copenhagen and get unter 1:40 hour.
will try it as it looks like a very solid tempo speed boost exsercise! Good work Mo!
Great video. I consider myself an average runner and this is the avg times that i run. Im not a pro but i can run these times ao this is relevant and im thankful for this channel showing videos for all running levels and times
This session looks like a great one to throw into the midweek schedule. Nice job, Mo! =D
Agree TRC includes mixed abilities of runners and Mo does say adjust your paces! Great video I'm going to give it a, try xxx
Thank you for this! I really lost confidence after a disappointing race in February; i must add this to my rotation for the next race!
Sub 80mins 🔥🔥🔥 all the best Mo, great workout, will give it a go 👌👍
That is one brutal workout… I managed to break 80 minutes last year, but I’d be seriously dreading this workout 🙈 You’re a beast mr Mo 💪🏻
Thank you for this video! I'm trying to increase my cadence stride and speed.
Wasn’t sure if I saw you guys recording in Vic Park that day but I’m featured in the background at 3:45 😂
The way this video came out the day after I signed up for my first half-marathon ❤ let's go!
Mo just brings so much good feel vibes. He's been a real breath of fresh air and definitely a really good addition to the team. Pace wise he's a lot quicker than me, but that doesn't matter. I just love watching him go out and conquer his own goals.
He's GREAT!
After Combrades , I'm going back to short runs, I'm definitely gonna try this workout, to go under 1:30 in 21km.
Half marathon so short...
Yo, you lot, it‘s always just such a delight watching your vids. Last year, I went through a very stinging break up, discovering running as a coping mechanism (so cliche, I know) and you at The Running Channel have been with me along the journey, doing my first 10k, half, subbing 1:45 and I will take you along with me to my first full. Absolutely grateful to you all! ❤
Amazing! Really glad you're enjoying running and have a fantastic half marathon pb!!
Every time I think I couldn’t be training myself any harder, Mo proves me wrong
Love the idea of this workout. I did a slightly shorter version of it last week with progressive paces over 2-mile chunks. Would have to slow it down a bit to hold those for 20 minutes. My goal is to go sub-1:40 for a half in the fall. Thanks for the tips, Mo!
Looking Good Sir
Liking this great video
Another great video. Thank you, Mo. I'm confident you'll run 80 minutes.
Really glad you found it motivational!!
PR on watching the latest video!!
I really like the concept.
I might try 3 * 15 minutes
Amazing,
Last November I've done half marathon in 1h48, what trainning plan have you followed to arrive to this level please ?
Best regards
Savage workout!!! 😳 - That'd wipe me out for the rest of the week and destroy my training!!!.. But Mo? No - he's a MACHINE!!!! 💪
Does the 20mins x 20mins x 20mins rule apply regardless of pace? Or should slower runners elongate the sections?
Good tips ! My best half marathon is 1 44 , and best 13.1 miler in training was 1 45 . If I’m trying get down 140 half should I do most of my tempo runs 7-8 miles at 8 min to 750 paces? And try to gradually work down to 750 paces for 6-8 milers ?
i REALLY want to hit a sub 2 hour half this year, i am signed up for one in October that i know is fast and flat but i have got a lot of work to do so imma definitely gonna try this one out 👍
The country barn music 😂😂 I want to try this session too now, I've never done a session like that before.
Let us know how you get on!
Keeps saying we won't hear from him in the next block, but then we hear from him!
Mo running on this tempo and talking is insane.
The Running Channel training future Olympians. Moe's becoming turning on beast mode 💪🏃.
The lesson Im reminded is run by feel and understanding paces. I've been training only by heart rate/base training.
I'm curios what watch Moe is using while training.
Keep it up Moe. Thanks Running Channel great content and motivation
Thanks so much for the support! So glad you enjoy the content 😁 what are you training towards?
@@runningchannel I'm Base building and preparing to run start 10km run next month.
Side expirment I'm trying to fill all the bars on Load Focus on the Garmin.
It been great way to track my Z2 runs so my Low Aerobic HR is full. Showing iv been been doing my speed work Anaerobic with my strides.
Need to add more Tempo/ Thresholds run for my High Aerobic
So Moe reminded run by feel more. I've soulful focus on Heart rate ❤️😅
What I would like to know is what you used to progress to this point. Obviously you cant just go run a 4min/km. I currently have a 1h55m pb and would like to lower it to 80min but I know I wont be able to hold that pace for a session so do I progressively increase the pace over months or what did you do?
Exhausted just watching! Are your shoes the Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris? How do you find them?
That's a typo right? 5k warmup, 3x20m progressive, then 5k cooldown? A 5-10 minute warmup makes a lot more sense, because otherwise, that'd be a half-marathon length workout even at my running speed.
It really does seem like a very long run, plus if you run on relaxed warmup pace for the first and last 5km you’re looking at a 2-3hour workout for most people, who will obviously be running quite a bit slower than someone who does an 80min half marathon
30 minutes off my half marathon? That would be a work record. Worth a shot lol
Wait, so I have to already run faster than my target HM pace? According to garmin my current HM pace is 4:40ish but I have a target of 4:20 for HM in September. I believe I should hit that target in 1-2 months and then my target will probably go further. Are you sure I shouldn't run those 20min at slower and faster than my current HM pace instead and just increase the pace together with my race predictor?
Let me borrow those shoes bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Enjoyed the video. What suggestions would you give to someone who can’t read their watch pacing without stopping and putting reading glasses on. I find ‘feeling’ pacing nearly impossible and am always miles out.
Which watch do you use?
On a Garmin, you can use audio alerts on your bone conduction headphones every few minutes to tell your heart rate and pace without looking at the watch.
Thanks, I use an Apple Watch.
Did Mo have a video on his Tokyo Marathon race?
How does age effect your endurance and pace ?
What’s your heart rate when doing this
What park is this? Somewhere in london?
As a sprinter I really despise those 5k warm up and cool down runs. What is that?
5k warm up and 5k cool down? with the 1h run in the middle they it's going to be the whole distance as a training run?
I think it must be 5 min. Wish I could run like Mo❤
I might try this for my next half marathon training block. My only question is the total distance you ran in total. 5k warmup and the 60 min of tempo run is about 17-18 km in total? Sounds like a lot for a tempo workout? 😅
Actually it was more than 25 km in total. 20 min at 4 min/km is 5 km. 2nd and 3rd blocks are even a bit longer.
Holy Jesus this type of workout would wipe me out for a couple of weeks and I’ve ran an 83 minute half marathon in my 60s 🤪
Well done!
So cca 25km training. Nice.
He should do an Ironman or triathlon! I feel like he’d be exceptional!
Should we challenge him? 👀
What is that park called you guys are always running around?
Victoria park
I've realised I have one pace. I need to start mixing up my runs
yes but i bet that's not the only reason why you improved so much in the HF, probably you must have increased your milage quite a lot... THAT'S THE KEY
96 hours of restitution according to Garmin Connect
When I try to run those paces, it looks and feels like I'm sprinting 🤔
My race pace is the same for all distances, 9 minutes per mile
Try adding some intervals to your runs.
@@pquirk99 I get tired, 9 minute pace works, but thank you
I am assuming that Mo is doing the "4 or more runs a week" for his goal of sub 80 min? Not sure he will be able to achieve that on only 3 or 4 runs lol
how does sub 4 min pace look like you’re jogging but for me it looks like i’m sprinting 😂
My PB is 1:40 and I think I can never get to 1:30 because I feel it’s too tough
You can! 💪
@@runningchannel thank you so much will try my best
Wearing a hairband helps with aerodynamics too? 😂
I'm calling Cap. Mo ran a 3:00 Marathon last year and had a PB of 1:50 in the half? If he knocked 30 minutes off his PB it was because he had not be running 1/2 marathons.
You are supposed to get quicker. Why not try speeding up if you want to match the exact session 😂
5k cool down?? 😂
It’s a tough but rewarding workout!
Yeah, like what? 😂 In the video Mo says that he's doing 5 - 10 min cool down...
You guys focus too much on the marathon. Do some half marathon training segments. More variety the better.
I remember when this channel was about the average joe public runner
We still have average runners on our channel, we try to cover everyone in the running space
I think they have range of presenters with different running times and this workout can be adapted for any half marathon goal time.
I'm an average, old runner (72), but I enjoy Mo's videos very much. My HM time is 2:01:58, but with training like Mo's I'm sure I can get it down to 1:55:00 or better.
I mean Mo is beasting it but the channel also features post-surgery runners, slower runners, longer distances runners, pregnant (soon post partum) runners etc.
I do agree, all the presenters have run a marathon at least, that's not average! Most people are intimidated by a 5km park run!
However a year ago I'd barely started running & now I've run a marathon too! So the content has inspired me ❤
Great video but I remember when most of the video’s and information given by the running channel was more relevant to the average/ slower runner, it feels like we are being left behind in more ways than one 😢
We’re sorry to hear that! We aim to represent all runners on this channel and have new and average runners as part of our team. What would you like to see more of?
Interested, what other than paces the guy is running at is not applicable to a slower runner? You know can make your own paces right?
I mean, second chapter is "adjusting paces to ability" so they did allow for slower or faster runners
All he said seems quite applicable to a large gamut of runners. Especially those who feel like they should speed up on a semi marathon
There’s always one to complain 😂
🙄🙄🙄
Dodgy music choice in this one.
How so??
@@runningchannelgreat music choice, Glowing In The Dark - Instrumental is always a pleasure when it shows up on CZcams 👍
