In today's video, we're gonna repair the shower faucet. It' a two handle shower faucet and the leaks are driving me nuts! Let's get this fixed!
Super glad to find This video. Had to replace a couple washers and a seal on mine. Never had someone to show me this stuff so I really appreciate this.

No dad should ever joke like that😅

You’re welcome!!
Thanks for showing this type of shower faucet, which of course is the same as mine, except mine leaks.
You're welcome. Glad I could help!!!
You're welcome. Glad I could help!!!
Anyone know what kind this is
This is a generic faucet. I got a kit from Lowe’s that is universal. It has different size o rings for different brand faucets.
sound had some noises, but it showed exactly what i needed. thx
Best part of this video: description up front about leaky faucets, esp. shower faucets where the drops fall from way up high. That would be bad Ray. 🤣
🤣
Thnx for showing details
You’re welcome!!
I'm here after getting a nice surprise 😂 I have no idea where the shut-off is for the shower.
I shut mine off at the street. I bought the $20 tool to do that.
Thanks for the video I have that same faucet gonna try this👍
I like your mantra!! Youre so freaking cool!!
Ha!! Thanks for watching 😉
I'll definitely subscribe dude, this is good stuff
Thanks for the kind words!!!
Thanks for the video! If you haven't answered already do you recall who manufacturer is on those faucets?
Sorry I don’t. It’s an old cheap faucet. Thanks for watching!
This looks very similar to the old Kohler cartridges for wich I've had a devil of a time finding replacement handle to fit these short stems.
Probably not the same since the handles for this one are pretty common.
Perfect thank you
You’re welcome!
Worked. Thanks.
You're welcome!!
My situation...hot water off no leaks or drips..turn hot on only...does not happen with cold...water flows out some where in wall seeps out on floor..assuming gasket letting water leaks filling up cover then flows thru wall to floor ? Tks
That could possibly be it. There’s a seal that seals up the outside of the valve that could be leaking. I would take the cover off and turn the hot water on to see if you can see where it’s coming from.
You're awesome!
Thank you!!
What size socket? Great video.
Thank you! I’m sorry I don’t remember what size mine were, different faucets will have different sizes so it’s best to get a set of sockets and try different sizes.
Good video how to replace shower stems
Thank you!!!
You turn the main warer supply off?

What size socket did you use? My faucet is exactly the same as yours btw. Thx👍🏻
I honestly can’t remember but it looks like a 3/4”. I’d have to take mine back apart to be for sure though 😂
Where can I find parts for mine we have the same one and lowes does have anything
Lowes is where I got mine. It was actually a universal faucet washer and o- ring kit. It wasn’t specific to my faucet.
how do you know it's not a supply line? behind the shower faucet?
I’m not sure I understand your question… there is definitely a supply line connected to your shower faucet. That’s why you need to turn off that supply.
Can you give me any tips on how to get the handle off if the screw head is rusted off? Mine is in a trailer & the 2 knobs & the faucet are all one piece & in a straight horizontal line.
Ouch, that's a tough one. I would try a drill with an 1/8" drill bit and drill into the head of the screw. Once you get enough through, the head will just fall off and you should be able to pull the handle off. Then use a pair of vice grips to grab the shaft of the screw that's left and turn it out.
@@ProjectDIY2 thank you my friend.
@@jamesmyers7142 No problem!
How do you remove the whole fitting fro. The wall
In most situations, the whole faucet would have to be removed from the other side of the wall. Your installation may be different, but I have a removable panel that allows access from the back.
Where can I get replacement rings or packing I think you called it
This is the setup I have I can't find any parts can you point me in the right direction
This was a universal kit from Lowes
Do you remember which seal kit you bought?
Sorry, I do not remember. I’m pretty sure I picked it up at Lowe’s and I think it was a universal kit.
86 kits on Lowes- but you don't feel a need to show your kit along with giving the part number and socket size- WTF!!
Thanks for watching though!
Did you turn your main water line off before doing this?
Yes
What brand is that?
Sorry I’m not sure. It was in the house when I purchased it.
Did you shut the water off before doing this repair?
Yes. Water will gush from the faucet if you don't.
@@ProjectDIY2 thank you!
@@jessicafrasier2805 You're welcome!!
so when you cut the water off,,and when you cut water back on,,you don't have to release the air,,from the lines,,???my papa said you have to open the water line furthest away and let the air out,,or you'll bust your other pipes,,is my papa wrong???
I've never done that and never had an issue. He could be right though. If you're worried about it, turn on a faucet on the opposite end of your house from where the water line comes into your house. Then when you turn the water back on all the air will be pushed out of that faucet. When there's not anymore air coming out of that faucet you can turn it off.
Helpful. But seriously hurry up man. Speed through half that talking
I think that he failed to realize that this video format was supposed to be taylored to you- because you are SO special...
You did not say please sub try that it's common sense to ask please if you can I would be greatful
You’re right I didn’t! I will keep that in mind!
