      This is a generic faucet. I got a kit from Lowe’s that is universal. It has different size o rings for different brand faucets.

    Best part of this video: description up front about leaky faucets, esp. shower faucets where the drops fall from way up high. That would be bad Ray. 🤣

    This looks very similar to the old Kohler cartridges for wich I've had a devil of a time finding replacement handle to fit these short stems.

    • @ProjectDIY2

      Probably not the same since the handles for this one are pretty common.

    My situation...hot water off no leaks or drips..turn hot on only...does not happen with cold...water flows out some where in wall seeps out on floor..assuming gasket letting water leaks filling up cover then flows thru wall to floor ? Tks

    • @ProjectDIY2
      @ProjectDIY2  Před rokem

      That could possibly be it. There’s a seal that seals up the outside of the valve that could be leaking. I would take the cover off and turn the hot water on to see if you can see where it’s coming from.

      Thank you! I’m sorry I don’t remember what size mine were, different faucets will have different sizes so it’s best to get a set of sockets and try different sizes.

    • @ProjectDIY2
      @ProjectDIY2  Před 4 měsíci

      Lowes is where I got mine. It was actually a universal faucet washer and o- ring kit. It wasn’t specific to my faucet.

    how do you know it's not a supply line? behind the shower faucet?

    • @ProjectDIY2
      @ProjectDIY2  Před rokem

      I’m not sure I understand your question… there is definitely a supply line connected to your shower faucet. That’s why you need to turn off that supply.

  • @jamesmyers7142

    Can you give me any tips on how to get the handle off if the screw head is rusted off? Mine is in a trailer & the 2 knobs & the faucet are all one piece & in a straight horizontal line.

    • @ProjectDIY2
      @ProjectDIY2  Před rokem

      Ouch, that's a tough one. I would try a drill with an 1/8" drill bit and drill into the head of the screw. Once you get enough through, the head will just fall off and you should be able to pull the handle off. Then use a pair of vice grips to grab the shaft of the screw that's left and turn it out.

    How do you remove the whole fitting fro. The wall

    • @ProjectDIY2
      @ProjectDIY2  Před 2 lety +1

      In most situations, the whole faucet would have to be removed from the other side of the wall. Your installation may be different, but I have a removable panel that allows access from the back.

  • @One-oe7cf
    @One-oe7cf Před 2 lety +1

    so when you cut the water off,,and when you cut water back on,,you don't have to release the air,,from the lines,,???my papa said you have to open the water line furthest away and let the air out,,or you'll bust your other pipes,,is my papa wrong???

    • @ProjectDIY2
      @ProjectDIY2  Před 2 lety +2

      I've never done that and never had an issue. He could be right though. If you're worried about it, turn on a faucet on the opposite end of your house from where the water line comes into your house. Then when you turn the water back on all the air will be pushed out of that faucet. When there's not anymore air coming out of that faucet you can turn it off.
