  • Hey guys just a little something different this week.
    Here's my method of replacing a broken shower faucet handle, especially if the screw is rusted, broken or stripped.
    It's a super easy fix, that took me no more than 10mins, so I figured this video would be worth posting as I looked high and low on CZcams, Google and even searched plumbing forums, but couldn’t find a way repair mobile home shower handles if the screw is rusted out and sheared off in the shaft....so no need to replace the cartridges or call a plumber.
    Hope this helps for anybody who might be in the same situation I was!
    I actually purchased the Danco 2-Pack Clear Acrylic Knob Bathroom Sink Faucet Handle from Lowes for $12.98 (Item 297421). These handles are universal, so will fit all mobile home shower and/or bathtub faucet handles.
    You can also purchase them on Amazon too - amzn.to/3AQ4YYq
    Also let me know if you guys like this type of video, so I can shoot more content like this in the future.

      I'm glad you left this comment because I have a monster headache and was about to go to another vid because the intro absolutely haymakered me 🙃
      To be clear, I'm not critiquing the intro itself - I especially like the edit, the shots and how they were presented, and in the right headspace I'd actually dig that music more than most YT intro dubstep
      But on a day where I already had a migraine, then my shower fitting fell straight onto my head, getting a faceful of phat beats and flickering images isn't exactly the medicine I need right now 🤣 oh and while writing this, I realised it's a fix for a different problem anyway - today just ain't my day I guess haha

    I will have to try those knobs.the double wide I live in was built in 97 and not sure of why but the knobs you can buy for some reason the splines on knob are spaced different so most won’t work as it’ll rub the metal backing and won’t fit on splines so i will have to try the universal set up.thanks!!

    This doesn't make the screw "too long" because it's no longer threading into the stem, this requiring to cut the screw a little shorter (or buya slightly shorter screw)? (Awesome adaptation btw! I doubt I would've ever thought of this! You can work with me any time!)

    Well, this seemed like such a great idea that I ran out and bought the tools and the adapters and the nuts but for the life of me I could not keep the nut from falling out of the adapter while trying to screw the handle into it. Then, eventually, I tightened it so much that I broke the metal adapter that went around the faucet fixture.
    So… here I am. I’m sure the oscillating saw will come in handy in the future as I just bought a house. I will be doing lots of other projects but at the moment, I still can’t take a fucking shower.
    Edited to add that I got the other faucet handle together so I’m gonna run back to the store and see if I can get just the part that I broke and try again

    • @HVACTechKnowledgy
      @HVACTechKnowledgy  Před rokem
