You’re literally the only nail tech I trust one CZcams your advice is so good 😂
Definitely flooding the cuticles is what I do most often. I tend to be just a little bit too heavy with how much product I apply at once and I need to work on that. Thank you for everything you do to help us!
This is the best channel hands down for nails! Most people talk too much and deliver not enough detail. This channel is to the point and what a sharp point it is! Very knowledgeable and intelligent! Thank you so much!
It’s my hobby since 4 years
I’m 25 now I’m learning gel art by my self I guess I’m not bad because I know how to apply the gel and acrylic well my friends never believe i made it
Anyways good luck for everyone
Awesome!
Oh my gosh, this answered so many of my problems, thank you so much, my next set is hopefully going to be so much better!
Interesting point about heat spikes, I always do my own gel or acrylic, and I use clear hard gel and builder gel. I was wondering *why* the heat spikes happen only sometimes, and the transparency of the gel seems to answer my question!
🎶CZcams saved my life tonight...🎶
Thank you so much!! I have been making all of these mistakes and have just been creating work-around solutions. The concept that thinner layers are better just blew my mind!
Thank you for this video!! It was a great reminder of some mistakes i had been doing and couldn't figure out why i had lifting! My lamp wasn't strong enough to flash/freeze cure some gels and i have to remember to cure each layer fully unlike some other gels. In me trying to save time, i ended up having product break down. Thanks again.
I love your channel! I'm newer to using hard gels. I have used them, but I'm not 100% at it yet. Your channel has really helped me a lot since they didn't teach how to work with gel products in school. Thank you!
Yes, I’m always flooding the cuticles and I can’t seem to get a good apex without the nails getting too thick 🥺
Excellent video! Yes, I made all of these mistakes when I first started doing nails.
I'm still learning how to use gels and differently made a lot of mistakes. your so helpful. thank you
Flooding my cuticles is my most frequent mistake
Me too... but what if you get to much from a tube.. it's not like you can put it back in there...🙄🙄
Samee
i always leave 1-2-3mm far from the cuticle
Wow, I always thought I was the few people who floods their cuticle. I have a bad habit of going to close to it. By the time I get to the pinky, the rest are flooded. Thanks for the video, very informative.
@@Jensdroidx72 you could put it on the side and user it on the next nail. What gel do you use that comes in a tube?
Thank you … I just bought the IBD starter kit and I find that your videos about hard gel application are more informative than their included dvd.
Thx . Merci bcq pour cette vidéo je suis débutante et c est ce que je fais, je prends tes conseils en considération dans ma prochaine application gel et je te tiens au courant. Gros Bisou
I haven't done nails in awhile and this video was like a quick refresher. Thank you it helped alot! 👍
I am so glad you did a video on this , such a great help. Awesome,THANK YOU!☺👍💖
Thank you for this video. I just started doing nails and I've had these issues 😅 now I know better and will do better. Appreciate u! 😍
Thank you so VERY much for your video! I really enjoyed watching it and you gave me very helpful advice!
Kindest regards and best wishes
Great tips for troubleshooting hard gel. Thanks for sharing 🌸🐨🌸
Hopefully this will help me! Thanks so much!
I found your video very helpful for beginners, since I'm one of them! now I'm going to have a look to the others :D
Oh i have the bad habit of wanting it to be close to the skin and also want to perfect so it floods the cuticles. I know it is wrong, so have to practise to be faster with the application.
Great tips that i will save👍 Thank you again for another great video, Anastasia💖
Me too. I always want to achieve that near under cuticle looks for longer wear (my nails are so bendy I cant let the actual growth get too long because they will fall off) however I always take too long time and everything just flows out of control
@@BlueDiamondStar it's so frustrating😂

Concise! Thank you for getting right to the point 😁👍
Thank you for the sharing, this has been very helpful ❤️
This was really helpful! I’m just learning how to play with all this stuff and my first set on my left hand was awful. Way too much product, flooded margins, wrecked my cuticles trying to fix them. But no worries! It’s still better than how badly I used to chew my nails! I’m now subscribed to your channel. Do you have a video you’ve done or someone else has done that you like, that discusses the order of application of all the products?
I think I’ve figured it out that it’s dehydrator, primer, base coat, gel, top coat. But would like more information about how each product affects the other. I’m grateful for any recommendations.
Tfs... great work Anastasia 💅💅💅❣❣❣
Perfect video, I literally just bought a gel nail kit today and I’m glad I came across this video before starting.
Yay!
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS VIDEO !!! I FOUND MOST OF THE THINGS YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT TO BE TRUE TO ME. I HAVE BEEN MAKING A LOT OF THOSE MISTAKES ON MYSELF !!!
You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful
I didn't know about the freeze curing tip, thanks!
I always forget how pretty you are when I've only seen your hands for a few videos lol. Seriously you're so gorgeous 🙃
Que linda que cor maravilhosa parabéns😘👏👏
Thank you so much for your help it is so helpful
This was so helpful as a beginner gel nail tech! I’m flooding my cuticle and side walls trying to get a perfectly smooth application
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the great tips. 😊
Me too i tried flooding both sides.. And uv lamp stand help a lot on doing hardgel
All of your examples I am guilty of making at one time or another, however, the taking too much time, where gel will begin flooding sidewalks during my sculpting, is one mistake I am most guilty of! I love all your videos! You have helped make me a much better Nail Technician!👍😘
Thank you, Karen!
Omg this is exactly what I needed
I'm still in the practise/introductory phase to gell application. Your video was very fruitful. Thank you
Thank you!
I did not know that about some colors that have to cure instead of freeze👍🏼
I would love to train with you! 💅🏼
OMG I love your channel!😍
Yes, i apply a thick layer right away and it floods. I think im very inpatient. Thank You.
Thank you so much now I know I was applying too much clear gel do that's why it hurt XD
I just can’t seem to get the balance of building the stress area enough yet keeping the product thinish so the free edge looks natural. Also flood the cuticle area and then can’t file a smooth area so when I apply polish colour (especially light colors) you can see the uneven areas. Finding it very hard.
Me too :(
thank you for posting this..I'm a beginner currently using too much product! 😣😁💪 practice practice! 💕💅
Thanks!
Thank u so much .
Thankyou so much 💗
Great tips!
Just wanted to say that your hair is soooo pretty :D
Thank you so much!
TFS Great info to help
Thank you!!!!!!😁
A quick question if you don’t mind. When you are using the IBD product do you wipe the sticky layer off of the binding base? I’ve been trying to find that video but so I could refresh myself on the steps but I must be looking it up incorrectly.
The builder gel I have is a lot harder than the one you have. Is there a way to make it a little less hard so it is easier to work with?
thank you😃
Really useful X :)
You are so pretty!
Thank you!
Hello, Which gel brush are you using?
Is it necessary to use the primer and the haidrere
Thanks is helpful for a beginner self educat person
Anastasia!! As always very important information, and you allways so clear about it . Can you tell us, maybe on another video how we can choose the correct builder gel, cause are many options but in Mexico there are no any nail tech that use this gels, or teach about hard gel extensions ( No that I know of course) the only option is AlliExpress but how to choose a very good quality gel? I been tried for a while and I finally think maybe CANNIE builder have the quality than the russian builders gels? Or you can tell us if there a brand to send to our country?.Thanks!
Thank you! I have a video about my favorite gels - czcams.com/video/OhCJz6uHh4s/video.html
Can fileing and shapeing hard gel on nails come off easily? I keep having this problem when my nail tech files too much that at the end i have no product on the sides of my nail and my nail color looks translucent that it looks like the color is missing 🤷🏻♀️
I have definitely been guilty of all of these at one point or another.
As an acrylic who has moved to gel for home application on myself, gel is both wonderful and frustrating. The flooding is my biggest issue. Makes me crazy! I try so hard. Makes me wish I could use acrylic at home, but my other half says no. Also, I am so slow at it.
Hi Jenn, have you tried using gels with a thick viscosity? A lot of builder gels don't even move if you turn the tub upside down. I found starting on those easier to understand the application, then moved to thinner viscosity gels once i understood the product and the self levelling helped even more. Try applying a very thin layer first and then another one on top to help the gel move around. :-)
I live in Norway and getting products here is very hard. I am a bit limited and have to order from abroad and often cannot get certain companies in, or they require a license to order that we don't have here. CJP is one of them.
I do have polygel that I am working with too, which I love, but there is something lovely about hard gels when it is on.
Polygel could be a great solution for you.
How about polygel?? I promise once you try it you can’t avoid loving it!!!
@@patriciagallacher2905 It was CND, not CJP that I was thinking of. Aliexpress has been my go to place recently for grabbing things because they don't get stopped by customs ever!
What can I really do to resolve this it's really frosting and not to good for my clients base
i have dryness and a reaction on my fingers from the polygel
When i first started hard gel application i flooded the cuticle on 1 finger but quickly learnt not to however i was never taught to do a thin layer first and yes got heat spikes and was only taught to "freeze" each finger for 5 seconds and then 1 minute in led/uv lamp. Is this correct or can that create lifting? Also how many coats do you do?
Yes, you can freeze cure as long as you will fully cure them afterwards and do NOT apply another layer on top if it;s not fully cured yet.
It's only for pigmented gels
my gel lifts from the tips of the nails, how can I avoid that?
Hi I'm quite new to using hard gel. I did a client last week and she contacted me to say 3 nails have popped off! Please can you tell me What I might have done wrong? I thought I prepped and dehydrated the nail plate so could it be something else? Thank you!
Did you take all of the shine off of the nails? After you dehydrated did you use primer? Did the product you used flood the cuticles, sidewalks, etc? Did you fix the flooding that the product might have done? There's a lot of factors that can cause lifting. The client can also have very oily skin and need to be dehydrated more than once throughout the process. Like do one nail at a time and dehydrate it when you get to it, or you can put a powder on their nails to help dry them out as well.
Is there such a thing as over curing nails?
applying too thick of clear thats why its so hot sometimes and too much around the edges forsure. Thankyou
i have a question concerning the last point... i have heard before that gelpolish in general should not be flash cured... I had no idea it also applies to colour gel 😮
I would really love to know whats the reason why we cannot flashcure pigmented gels??
You can do flash curing with semi transparent colors, with intense colors - you can too.
Just do not apply anything ON TOP until you fully cure the previous layer :)
The reason is that pgiment is additional ingredient
UV light can come through transparent colors but not thru intense ones.
Flash curing makes upper thin layer hard, but will not cure the bottom layers.
@@Nailcou ohhh I see! thank you for clearing this up :)
This question is not about hard gel but I hope you can help me. When I use one step gel polish sometimes it still has a stickiness to it so that I have to wipe it off. Some of the nails will retain their shine but some go to a mat finish. What am I doing wrong and why is it doing this?
Isopropyl alcohol can make things dull and cloudy if that's what you are using to wipe the nails.
Happens to me!🤯🤯🤯
I always flood my cuticles and sidewalls. And it always flows all over the place. But I’m always aware of that however still do same mistakes.
But I have improved. It’s mostly happening with gel polishes and glitter gel polishes. Most of times I manage to clean all up before curing but sometimes gel manages to escape my scrutiny.
Also the nude gel didn’t cure even after three minutes of curing thin layer for from both sides. Does it mean my lamps are too weak/incompatible or product being less quality? White gel once never cured at all on the inside.
Clears though works with both lamps.
Probably your lamp is too weak. Check its power and the power recommended for curing the products that you use
Yes, sounds like you might need another lamp with at least 36 Watts, and check if the gel you're using is compatible with it
@@Nailcou Well I have UV/LED (CCFL/LED) 36W lamp and I cure for like 3min (it has 10s/30s/60s default and I just keep trigger 60s over and over) and from both sides and all angles.
It did feel kinda better and longer lasting with that lamp but not all the way like transparent gels do. I believe maybe the fact I got it from Aliexpress is the true culprit. I haven't yet gotten to order from NDED (Germany company) their gel products (but their acrylics were kinda good as far as I can judge). And I did order the fiberglass extensions and so wanted to do nude for maybe complete natural looks but now I'm worried.
hello thank you for the video. my gel does not stick to my nails it always removed by itself. why can you tell me
Do you remove the shine from your nails? Do you dehydrate and prime your nails? Do you have oily or moist hand's? There could be multiple reasons.
I'm bad at flooding the cuticle 😔
Hi I really like ur videos I started exploring your videos just before few days and they are really helpful. Every day I see one video on your CZcams channel.
I want to start learn this skill but the problem is i am Indian woman i live in France since two and half years i still learning French also my English is not so well but i understand I can’t learn nail art in any institutes because I have two years old daughter.

Why when doing MY nails , they never lift , never broke and i always have them for good long time but when i m doing someone s elae nail , next day after they nails are broken or lifting . Do you know by any chance why ? Because i m doing the same steps like for mines and using same products . :(
Georgiana Moldovan they must be rough on their nails
I have new machine LD&uv 48W
I found out that my skin burns and becomming so tough and dry, this takes about 2 weeks, or more, then i have to correct or refail my nails, but i feel not comfortable doing this,
Is someone has the same problem or similer one?
And what should i do?
gigi0699 use finer bit
For dry skin I recommend cuticle oil + hand / night hand cream
For nails - make sure you're not doing any of these mistakes so you can stretch out our refill time up to 3 weeks
Hola! Porfavor 🙏 un vídeo en español .
I'm planning to add subtitles in Spanish :)
OMG I am too slow! 💖💅
Gel always floods my cuticle while im working on other nails🙄
Okay heres my deal.. I work in a healthcare company. I do NO patent care at all.. I've been told I CANT have the false nails anymore. So how do i do them to make them look real.. I have short stubby nails.. any ideas or info would be appreciated i also use acrygel instead of polygel.
Gel overlay or dip maybe?

A client complain it didn't last just 9 days the nail piped off
Omg making the translucent too thick!!! Worst
I'm going to try these techniques one more time and if it doesn't work, i am throwing all my nail extension products out...

Nice hair
Thanks!
